Not much on this yet but I got it on yahoo and foxcarolina.com. This mother and son were found near a dog kennel on their property in Colleton County SC. Their family has a long history of connections to the legal system in the Lowcountry and the son, who was murdered, was currently facing charges in a boating accident causing death.

I have only just started following this case, thanks to the live coverage of AM’s testimony. Already, three things pop out at me about AM: 1) his distancing use of passive voice in his narratives; 2) his agonizing hair-splitting; and, 3) his obsession with control over his late wife. Relative to the third item, I noted in his testimony yesterday his odd fixation on how “feminine” his wife was, as if riding an RTV was somehow a mortal sin. Perhaps in his patriarchal world view, it was.

There is do much wrong with this man. But again, I’m new here (drifted over from Vallow-Daybell). May I ask whether and where the murder weapon was found?
There were two murder weapons, a shotgun and a 300 AR. Neither have been located. But 300 casings match other casings on the property.

I’m wondering why AM hasn’t pulled an OJ and pleaded for the search for the real killers? Don’t you think with all his musings he would have said something to that effect? Rather strange if you’re him.

It makes me crazy that this guy is/was an attorney and HAD to have anticipated that one of the 1st potential perpetrators in a murder is the spouse!

AM had to have anticipated they would first try to rule him out? Right?? So saying he doesn’t trust SLED, all the excuses and finger pointing he makes.

He absolutely anticipated that, but he didn't know about the cellphone video on Paul's phone. Without that video, his original statement that he never went to the kennels can't be disputed. (That's also why he left his own cellphone at the house, so it couldn't track him.)

All this stuff about distrusting SLED is him trying to square his lies with all the electronic evidence that's subsequently popped up.

IMO, Waters took note that he was losing the popularity contest to the defendant and made the decision today to let AM ramble on with his storytelling.

Fortunately, by not interrupting AM, he just can't help himself to not play with the rope. JMO

Am I the only person that knows people who have lost loved ones due to accidental overdoses of pain meds? Not suicide, but actually just took one to three more pills than they were prescribed? And they weren't taking anywhere close to 50 pills a day.

I understand tolerance. I metabolize pain medication differently, and it usually takes a large dose (when I've had surgeries and given birth), but I also DO NOT like/enjoy pain medication.

I'm still just not buying the amount of opioids that AM claims he took.

Also, he would have been constipated ALL THE TIME, so there's that.....

Just an observation, and JMO.... mooo
Well maybe you've uncovered the mystery of the missing minutes he was sitting on the couch.. napping or not.. he jetted back to the house because he needed to sit on the porcelain throne..

In the latest documentary by Netflix, it was reported that Maggie had hired a forensic accountant and had visited a divorce lawyer in Savannah before the murders.
AM referred to Maggie and Paul being 'hurt' this morning. I think if it was the work of someone else, he would have described it as it was, 'brutally murdered' and with much anger and hurt. He wouldn't do his usual minimizing, IMO.
Great statement … you are right on target with the “hurt” vs “brutally murdered” …

Are you guys watching this on a time delay? Court is currently in recess for lunch for another 20 minutes...

This morning was astonishing. Stunning, even. So I think we're just mulling it over.

I went back and froze my replay on the faces of the defense near the end of the morning (I was just listening, not watching). People here were mentioning that the defense looked unhappy.

I would agree with that. But AM admitted to so many specific lies/issues, it's almost impossible to list all of them.

Okay I recall someone testifying that the shotgun Alex had that night was tested and it was inconclusive o if it could have been the murder weapon.. am I remembering that right?

I know many guns can be tested to know if they were fired recently. Is a shotgun one that this could be determined?

I really wonder if he used the very shotgun he claimed to run to the house to get. Maybe he didn't have to go to the house for the gun because it was already there down by the kennels. Maybe he ran to the house to stash his pills before LE arrived.
