Missing Person – Terry Griggs, 1988
Griggs

Ralph Terry Griggs (39 years old at time of disappearance) left for work on the morning of November 21st, 1988 and was never seen again. Griggs was employed as a bridge inspector for the Mark Clark bridge project and was believed to have left home with a large sum of cash on his person. A rental car he was driving was found abandoned in the Northwood's Mall Parking lot. The evidence in this case is very limited and few leads were generated in the early investigation. Few, if any, significant leads have been developed since his disappearance.

I'm certain there are many articles. This was a high profile missing person case in the Charleston area.

Excerpt from a larger article on issues around the bridge from construction through today.

1988

As the James B. Edwards bridge (Wando Bridge) over the Wando river was taking shape, Ralph Terry Griggs, a bridge inspector from Goose Creek, goes missing.

His body was never found.

In 2001, his wife says Griggs knew something was wrong with the Mark Clark.

“I think he was murdered. There was a contract on his life because of what he knew about the Mark Clark,” says Lori Griggs, who has since remarried and changed her name.
