People in this close-knit community on Ridge Road used to see Turner walking all the time with her dogs. They miss seeing their friendly neighbor waving as she passed by.
"Our hopes are that somebody comes and tells us what happened to Robbie," Turner said. "Somebody knows something. All they got to do is get on the phone and call."
Robbie, 52, was a military veteran. She was last seen wearing dark pants, dark coat, and was carrying a pink walking cane. The family is offering a $1,000 reward for any credible information that leads to finding her.
Nellie Vernon of New Prospect was living in North Carolina when her sister went missing.
"Usually, she would leave to clear her head and come back," Vernon said. "She would have never been gone this long."
Vernon said the family will continue to hold prayer vigils and hopes Robbie will be found soon.
We have exhausted every lead that we've had come in," Wellford Police Chief Kevin Green said. "The people who knew about the case have passed away or moved on and unless somebody comes forward or a development happens there's not a lot of things we can do at this point."
I don't want to speculate on what happened," Green said. "I don't think she just up and left permanently. She had a life here and I don't think she would have just walked away without taking her personal items or something to keep her going. Nobody just disappears without somebody knowing something. All it takes is one person to come forward with credible information to point us in the right direction."
"Robbie still has support among family and the community," Cunningham said. "We are still supporting her because her life matters. We love Robbie and we miss her. We have questions. You just don't allow a person to go off the face of the earth. The way she lived, she was a blessing to all of us and we all enjoyed Robbie. She made us laugh. We miss her and seeing her little dogs walking down the street. Her life matters. She still has love from this community and we want answers on what happened to her. We want to know what happened."
In 2017, there were 48 missing persons reported in the city of Spartanburg and 130 reported in Spartanburg County.
Of the 48 cases in the city during that time, eight remain missing. All but one of the 130 cases in Spartanburg County have been cleared.
Spartanburg Police Department spokesman Maj. Art Littlejohn said whenever someone is believed to be missing it should be reported immediately to law enforcement by filing a report so investigators can begin a search.
Some signs may be the person is not answering their phone or not coming home or to work at a scheduled time," Littlejohn said. "If that happens, file a report and we will work it."
Littlejohn said investigators use a combination of techniques to locate someone who might be reported missing including using surveillance video of the person in stores, going to places the person frequently visits, accessing cellphone data or banking information relating to recent activity.
From 2016 through 2020, there were 704 reported missing person cases in Spartanburg County. Only a few of these cases remain unsolved or have been transferred to other agencies for investigation.
"There is a myth that you have to wait 24 hours or longer to report someone missing," Bobo said. "If a family member has exhausted all possible options, then they need to go ahead and report. A recent picture is very helpful but often unavailable. Clothing, mobile number and subscriber information, bank account and card numbers are also useful as well as any social media accounts, user ID's, passwords, and screen names."
Bobo said any medical or mental issues a missing person may have are also important. The more information investigators can have available about the missing person can benefit the search.
"An important note is that jurisdiction of the missing person's cases lies where they were last seen, which is not always their county of residence," Bobo said.
