Large Search Planned for Missing Midlands Man

Robert Lester Jones, 32, was last seen on July 24 around 7 p.m. as he was leaving Newberry County Hospital on Evans Street.
His abandoned car was later found on Queens Church Road, which is a dead end gravel road near Interstate 26.
Officers say there were no signs of foul play near the vehicle.

Search and Rescue Team Finds Clue to Missing Newberry Man

"We're going to examine that further, and then Newberry County Sheriff's Office will continue their investigations and the South Carolina State Guard is here to continue assist as force multiplier."

The blue and navy striped shirt is what jones was wearing when he went missing.

"We feel good that the subject is located near where the evidence is found," said Hamm. "At this point in time, we are working to ensure that we cover all of our bases that if he is in an area where we can help locate him, that we put every effort into that.">>
