I‘m not convinced this was preplanned. Maybe it was a crime of opportunity. To me it looks like the car was pulling in trying to park. Samantha approached the car and got in.

I didn't really see the hair flip. Maybe the front seat passenger could see her from the side mirror.

I think the front seat passenger turns their head towards the right a bit.

In the shot of the car starting to turn the corner, the back seat looks empty to me

This is why I wish all states would start requiring two plates. We’ve got cameras everywhere, but a plate can only be seen from one side.

Very much agree. Case in point. Her video. That plate would have been in perfect clear view.

This is marked as a handicapped spot, and it doesn't look like they were parking, just pulling in quickly and then leaving.

If this was an opportunity crime, what were they cruising for and had other such crimes been reported ? Would people drive in there to sell drugs to bar patrons ?

But what kind opportunity crime is it to kidnap someone and kill them? Was her purse recovered?

It might be. They do seem anxious to pull up once they spot her. The car runs over the curb as it is pulling into the parking spot.

Sexually motivated.

Found the video, it looks like there is someone in the front passenger seat. Not enough for me to say male or female.

And there are about 30 people on the sidewalk just 10 feet from Samantha.

I don't get it - what were these two in the car doing?

We’ve had a bunch of cases of people pretending to be ride share drivers in Chicago robbing passengers. They usually just troll the bar scene in River North late at night on the weekends. It’s terrible. The cases usually don’t result in murder though :(

Yes, but they/he/she did not stop right next to her (striped section or on street) but went straight to the parking space.

Police should really crack down on paper plates too. In the city where I live, people use these fake temporary paper plates all the time to commit crimes.

Many recent reports of robbery both ways -- by both fake driver and rider. (Last weekend a rider shot his driver in robbery gone bad when driver insisted he did not know "pin" to his bankcard. The rider used a uber/lyft "gift card" when paying for his fare and I don't recall if they've made arrest yet).

Father Of Missing University of South Carolina Student Confirms Her Death
From the article above:
“Her phone was tracked to a house in the Rosewood (neighborhood) but she wasn’t there when (her) friends checked in,” the friend told us.

A massive, multi-jurisdictional investigation is currently underway involving Columbia police, agents of the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Clarendon County, S.C. sheriff’s office. It is not immediately clear why the latter agency would be involved, although there are unconfirmed reports that Josephson’s body was recovered in this rural county – which is located in the Pee Dee region of the state roughly fifty miles southwest of Florence, S.C.

Sources at the Columbia police department declined to provide us with any information related to the investigation, however one source familiar with the situation told us “significant progress” had been made.
