Lexington County deputies try to shake new leads in 10 month old cold case

They say 10 months ago, a Columbia woman was murdered near Irmo. Shirley McKenzie was shot dead in a Lexington County bar. Deputies say there's no surveillance video of what happened and so far, there's not enough evidence to charge someone.

But they're trying to change that.

"My daughter didn't deserve to get shot the way they shot her and left on the floor,” Shirley's mother Edna Roberts said. "That's my baby sister, and, I mean, it's hard to get a phone call saying, you know, she was gone."

Deputies say 22-year-old Shirley McKenzie was shot and killed inside Cockpit Bar & Grill 10 months ago.

No arrests have been made.
