Found Deceased SC - Suzette 'Suzy' Ginther, 27, Sumter County, 17 Nov 2017 *Arrest*

I'd like to know if Suzy was having problems with James since they divorced? Still trying to understand the timeline. Her boyfriend took the kids to school that morning, James came over after that and kidnapped and killed her? Crime of passion was mentioned, still don't understand motive.

Suzi worked at the Petco here in Sumter, SC. James harassed her quite a bit, via phone and by coming to her job, esp. after the divorce. (I know several of her former coworkers.) The theory is he parked some distance away from her home, walked there, and planned on kidnapping her and the kids, kill her and go on the lam with the kids. Based on the timeline, it sounds as though he carjacked her as she was leaving for work, made her drive to his car, and took her out in the woods to kill her and bury the body. As for the hunter, the area around here is popular with hunters. Since the hunter who found her grave noticed the hole PRIOR to her being reported as missing, he couldn't have known what the hole was there for. He mayn't have heard about her disappearance, either, but you know he must feel terrible.

Thank you for the information.

Seems as if he waited for the boyfriend to leave to take the kids to school. Then as you say, kidnapped her. If he hadn't been caught, he could have been made custodial parent.

I still don't understand motive. What was he harassing her about? Jealous of the new boyfriend, resented paying child support, wanted primary custody of the kids? Was he doing drugs, mentally ill?

I'm so sorry for her kids and loved ones. So senseless ...

The hunter has nothing to feel terrible about. He solved the case, who knows how long it could have taken to find Suzi. He' a hero!!!

My son goes to a camp on that road. It makes me nervous to hear that people are hunting close by. Or do people not hunt in the summer? I'm clueless. A man mistook a woman for a deer this weekend and killed her (not here), so crazy things happen. Thanks for the info. Its awful to think such a dangerous event would occur there, as well, primarily for the family, of course, but it does give me pause. Is this unusual in the area? I feel so terrible for her. It sounds absolutely horrific and terrifying to know for an hour or longer that you were probably not going g to survive. I wish women had better radars regarding evil men.

if it looked like a grave? we don't know that this one did look like that of course but if I found a hole I thought resembled a grave, I would probably report it
they might think I'm wasting their time OR they might be interested and curious as well
then again I read too much crime news

Why would you report a hole to LE? Not sure that on is own would be suspicious enough for me to report. I wouldn't assume someone was going to bury a body in it.

No hunting during the summer.

James was physically abusive to Suzy, from what I've heard, which is why she divorced him. It was a "I own you" sort of thing, apparently.

I’m in Virginia and people here will hunt squirrels and coyotes in the summer.

We do know what the hole looked like, it was plastered all over the media. Round, roughly 18" deep. There is a picture at link, doesn't resemble a grave to me?

This guy was in court this morning. Watched it on my tv. He talked and told the court that “before the incident” he was to have joint custody and he was unable to see his children.

Victims parents have been awarded temporary custody and given permission to take the children to Florida if necessary - where they live.

He will be back in court this afternoon for a bond hearing.

Men who kill their children's mother are the ultimate in selfishness...Thinking about themselves only, not caring about the hurt and loss those children will suffer going through life without that precious mom!

He actually referred to murdering Suzy as "the incident"?

Yes! He stumbled over his words, but I hit rewind twice and listened. I didn’t see the whole thing. The news just played that part.

Disgusting trash. I hope he suffers. At least the kids won't be raised by him.
