'Badly decomposed and charred' body found near SC church. Now 4 men are in jail

A "badly decomposed and charred" body was found April 4 near a church off S.C. 70 near U.S. 301 in Bamberg County, State Law Enforcement Division spokesman Thom Berry said, according to The Augusta Chronicle. The body's condition is making it difficult to determine the identity, Berry said.

However, the remains are believed to be that of 19-year-old Timothy Brison, a resident of Blackville in nearby Barnwell County who was last seen March 27.

SLED agents on Saturday charged 22-year-old Montrell Davonta Isaac, of Blackville, with murder, according to WRDW.

Three more Blackville residents have been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony, the Chronicle reports: Dwayne Lieutentant Prophet Jr., 23; Edwin Lyn Jones, 27; and Darren Latroy Saxon, 24.

[h=1]Family of missing Blackville teen fears worst, SLED investigating charred human remains[/h]
According to one of Brison's family members he knew Montrell Isaac, Dwayne Prophet, Jr., Edwin Jones and Darren Saxon
"From my understanding there were all friends," said Brison's family member.
The connection between the men and the missing teen has convinced Brison's family, it's his body that was found.

"So you believe that even though the body hasn't been positively identified, you believe that it is your family member?" Asked NewsChannel 6's Stefany Bornman.
"Yes. I do." The family member said.
SLED investigators are waiting for a positive identification on the body. Still, Brison's family member says there is no other explanation for the gruesome discovery. It's unlike Brison to not call or come home.

On Friday, SLED announced the man’s body was identified as that of Timothy Jared Brison, 19, of Blackville.

SLED announced that Montrell Davonta Isaac, 23, of 131 Rain Drop Dr., Blackville, was arrested on one count of murder.

Isaac’s arrest warrant accuses him of shooting Brison at 208 Rivers St. on March 27.

The body was disposed of in a wooded location, the warrant states.

The following individuals are facing one count each of accessory after the fact to murder: Dwayne Lieutenant Prophet Jr., 23, of 208 Rivers St.; Edwin Lyn Jones, 28, of 10 Hardwood Dr. and Darren Latroy Saxon, 23, of 224 Falcon St.

Warrants accuse Jones of cleaning his vehicle after Brison’s death.

Warrants say Jones allowed his vehicle “to be used after the shooting.”

As for Prophet and Saxon, warrants accuse them of “cleaning up the crime scene and disposing of evidence.”

A memorial service for Brison will be announced at a later time by Dyches Funeral Home of Barnwell.

I'd guess drugs, going by the organized way the police alleged the body was disposed of. Girl/ego killings are crimes of passion and I doubt the perp would have fixers willing to go to bat for him to cover these up. A killing over a drug deal gone wrong, OTOH, may involve several people higher up the chain in the area, so it may be in multiple people's best interest to make all evidence of it disappear.

That or either gang activity. SC has its share of both evils.
