School, charity and 10-year-old Jetta get to the root of bullying experience

10-year-old Jetta Fosberg of Dayton, Ohio, cut off and donated 14 inches of her hair to the Charity Wigs for Kids, then found hersef being bullied by classmates for her new, short hairstyle. As well as her hair, Jetta had also run an online campaign that raised $2,700 for the non-profit, which makes wigs for children with cancer.

However, Jetta, Wigs for kids and her school, Pathway School of Discovery, turned the experience around Tuesday. During a special school assembly the charity was invited to explain to the kids what they do, young Jetta was able to proudly hand over the money she had raised and share her story with everyone, and there is even a cut-a-thon planned for the end of the school year, for any other children who want to grow and donate their hair.

' “I’m really happy that instead of it being negative that it got turned positive and that it’s helping kids,” Jetta said.'

It's separate, but this little three-year old tot who loved her long hair, saw a bald child who'd had chemo. When mom and dad explained, she spontaneously said; 'She can have some of mine!'

So that week, little Ariana Smith of Winterport, Maine, went off to the hairdresser and had her long blonde locks cut into a cute bob, so she could donate them. It's just so sweet to see her smiling away, as her precious locks are cut. The shorter bob really suits the kiddo too.
