They were probably shocked that anyone ever even took them up on their offer. Sounds like a dumb joke.

Residents in Jedburgh, a town in southeastern Scotland, have allegedly thrown rocks and torn down the tents of the “Kingdom of Kubala,” who are residing in the wooded areas on land they claim was stolen from their ancestors.

Jean Gasho, who identifies as Queen Nandi of the North, claimed that more than 15 people started a harassment campaign against her and her husband’s kingdom. The tribe relocated to the area when the Scottish Borders Council evicted them from the public land where they had set up camp. ...

“This group will leave Jedburgh. They will do so by either listening or by lawful means, but they are the only two means in which it will take place. Not mob mentality or threats of violence,” [Scottish Borders Councilor] Hamilton said.

Attempts to evict the group from an earlier encampment on council land was thwarted after their tents were set on fire, and they moved to another location nearby.

Now tension between residents in the town and the campers has escalated and Councillor Hamilton, who represents Jedburgh for the Conservatives, has spoken out to offer reassurances that the campers will leave the town by “lawful means”....

“We now have contact with the land owner, and the council and police are ready to work with them in securing a better outcome for this group and for the community.

“In the interim period, we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure your safety as residents, but also theirs as human beings.

I had been wondering about Kaura's baby and missed this info (not new):

Taylor’s aunt, Vandora Skinner, told the Scottish Daily Mail that her niece abruptly left the US with her baby daughter without telling the family.

She claims the one-year-old is now in the care of UK authorities after officials found her and Taylor living on the makeshift campsite.

''The alleged attacks began on Aug. 31, when two unidentified men came upon the tents Gasho had been living in and questioned what she was doing.
“This is a rapist cult and I will always stick to that,” one of the men says to a woman recording the interaction, according to the Telegraph.''

This is only a few miles from where I live. Winter is coming and I promise that will sort this nonsense out. We regularly get -10 C and below during the winter and its hard enough in a centrally heated house when you are used to the climate!

Please keep us posted - I am also expecting the cold weather to put an end to the outdoor camp. But then what? They have to go somewhere.

This is local to me too. Locals are a mix of being absolutely outraged at them or just straight up laughing at them.

'Fresh concern has been raised over the welfare of a young woman living in a remote woodland camp with a self-proclaimed African 'royal tribe' amid growing speculation that she may be pregnant.''

''The trio consists of Kofi Offeh, 36, from Ghana, who styles himself as King Atehene, his wife Jean Gasho, 42, from Zimbabwe, who calls herself Queen Nandi and their so-called 'handmaiden' Asnat, 21, who was born Kaura Taylor in the United States.'

'I am the inferior mistress and I play as a surrogate for the queen,' Taylor said in a recent Facebook video.
Originally from Texas, Taylor was a chess prodigy in her youth but is now living in the primitive woodland camp with Offeh and Gasho. Her family have pleaded with her to return home.

Her mother, Melba Whitehead, told reporters: 'This cult is crazy. They pose a threat to everyone around them.' She also claimed that Kaura was a clever person who had wanted to study law but had mental health problems.''

''One woman, said to be from Birmingham, claims she travelled to the Borders to meet the group after seeing them online.
'We spoke for hours and they were lovely,' she told The Scottish Sun. 'The king asked me to join them.'

Local radio this evening.

The officers attended this morning to effect another eviction to discover they had gone from the private woodland area to another site over the fence.

So the saga continues and another landowner has to jump through the hoops to evict them.

Apparently the land is council owned and they have now started the eviction process again!!!
