I think it's going to be close, but believe the no voters will win it. Also, from what I've gathered so far it seems to be the older generation who are more reluctant with regards to leaving the union. Weather's not too bad either, so will probably be a high turn-out as well.

I've voted yes and everyone else I know has too.

I think unless you are here to experience the revolution that is happening before my eyes you will automatically assume westmonster will win.

All independent polls I have seen which is hundreds have yes well over 70%.

I shall hope to wake up to a country free to be what it rightly deserves to be.

It is easier to govern 6 million people on your doorstep than 60million from hundreds of miles away.

A few reasons why I am yes:

I want trident out,too dangerous for them to have in England but sure it's okay for us

It's 2014 over 400,000 kids still live in poverty and eat out of foodbanks

I do not want a privatised nhs

I don't want Westminster reaping the rewards from OUR oil any longer and using it to enter into illegal wars

Just talked to my cousin who is married to a Scot (with dual citizenship.) She said that her husband's parents and other family still in Scotland all voted no.

Alex Salmond's dream of Scottish independence is on the brink of ruin tonight, with early results suggesting voters have dramatically rejected his plan for separation.

In the first official result of the night, Clackmannanshire rejected independence by 54 per cent to 46 per cent, despite it being a key target for Mr Salmond's hopes of securing a Yes vote. The SNP has also conceded defeat in West Lothian.

The First Minister has cancelled an expected appearance in his Aberdeenshire, amid speculation the No campaign has triumphed in his own backyard.

I love the flaming bagpipes and the saltire necktie!

I'm a born & bred Texan (although I live elsewhere now, alas) and my ancestors hail from Scotland (Kilmarnock) - so secession & independence runs in my veins.

It wasn't as close as what I thought it was going to be. I'm glad they're still with us, but would have been curious to have seen the whole process of independence. History in the making. We probably won't see this again now in the lifetimes of most of us.

If all the fight and bravery has gone out of the Scots, maybe t'is better they stay safe under English rule. Even so, I am in tears for what might have been.

I'm happy it's a no. But obviously a lot of people want change.
