*** MISSING ***

Officers are continuing to urgently search for 21-year-old Sebastian, who is missing from his home in Notton.

Sebastian was last seen leaving the Black Horse Pub in Chippenham at about 11.30pm on Thursday night (27/02) and was captured on CCTV heading towards Lovers Walk.

He is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, slim build, with blonde/brown hair with a long fringe.

He was last seen wearing a grey jumper, blue jeans, a beige fur lined jacket and white Adidas trained with a Velcro strap across the top.

We have attached a CCTV image and Ring Doorbell image of him from Thursday evening.

Chief Inspector Ben Huggins said: “Sebastian’s disappearance is out of character and we and his family are extremely concerned for his welfare.

“We are currently conducting multiple lines of enquiries to locate him.

“We are working with Wiltshire Search and Rescue and we currently have extensive specialist resources in place to find him, so we would ask the public not to speculate and to allow us to conduct our enquiries.

“If you see Sebastian, or know anything about his whereabouts or disappearance, please report it on 999 quoting log 141 of yesterday’s date.”

In an unusual (and sad) development, police searching the River Avon for missing man Sebastian Sailes have discovered the body of a man in his 70s near Westmead Open Space yesterday (03 Mar 2025).

Police have confirmed that this is not Sebastian, for whom an extensive search operation is continuing today. The body has been identified and his next of kin have been informed.

Is anyone familiar with the area able to map out his likely route? The Daily Mail says The Black Horse pub to Lover’s Walk to possibly Avon Valley Walk to home in Notton. That seems quite a walk and also quite rural.

Taxis are often very expensive, but mostly are quite often non-existant in small towns and rural areas in the UK especially in the evenings.
Needless to say, no buses either. So unless your parents or friends give you a lift, there's no option but to walk.

  • "County Chief Inspector Ben Huggins said: "We're here today with further search activity for missing person Seb. We are conducting multiple, extensive enquiries. We have deployed a dive team into the river which remains one area of focus for us.

"But in addition to that we also have searches ongoing with drone footage and drones up in the sky, we have active enquiries ongoing within the housing estates and footpaths, and we're continuing to review CCTV options and following up all lines of enquiry.

"You will continue to see an increased police presence in the area, and we continue to have our neighbourhood policing team based within the town centre and the mobile police van. Please do feel free to go up and engage with them and talk to them if you have any concerns or any information to share.''

Absolutely this, getting a taxi or buss in Chippenham after dark is nigh on impossible.
