Seems to me there are some rather huge holes...

Seriously: who said it cannot be proved he was in Colorado at the relevant time?

i would not necessarilly believe the ex-wife. until it can be proved he was with her (or the brother) that particular Xmas.
If it can be proved that he was in Colorado I believe the DA and authorities would be telling us that. As that would give much needed validity to there actions. I can not imagine they would want to keep this quiet. I believe the X-wife because she hates his guts from what I read and it would serve her better if he was behind bars for the rest of his life.

I found this...not definitive proof by any means.....

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_4923180,00.html

It was not clear Wednesday how authorities had established that he had been in Colorado in the last days of 1996.

However, while he had never applied for a teaching license, certification or authorization in the state of Colorado, a file was opened at an undetermined point in his name with the Colorado Department of Education. That may have been triggered by the submission of either test scores or fingerprints, signaling his intention to apply for a license. He never did so.

It is unclear if he ever applied to work for the Boulder Valley School District or if he ever volunteered there.

Well, I'm right there with you. What's the HOLD UP on clarifying and verifying if this guy was with his family THAT Christmas? Just rediculous! YOu'd think LE would have swooped down on this ex-wife and sat right there with her while she looked through old photos and other documentation to solve this puzzle piece! I just don't "get" this at all.
Maybe the hold up is that they cannot prove he was with his family.

Maybe Karr is dumb like a fox. Maybe he is intentionally making false or inconsistent statements as a set up for an insanity defense.

It would have been much easier to have brought him home because he was a fugitive and let california authorities get him back to california. Then Colorado authorities could have jumped in with the Jonbenet investigation without the media attention. IF they wanted to just quesiton him in Bankok they would have. I think they have much more in mind then questioning, and I find this odd when they can not prove he was ever in Colorado or new the Ramseys.

I mentioned this yesterday. I've heard some talking heads mentioning that also. But some seem to think CA wouldn't extradite on misdemenor charges.

I find this quite possible. I mean people who have followed the case just a little, at least know basic details of the case. And from what we are hearing he was obsessed with this case. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I think even if he did not commit this crime, at least he is off the streets and not hurting any children.

Hi Pepper. Which statements are you referring to?

They named the 3rd son Seven Exodus?? Poor kid....

Mjak ...

It is very likely that in an effort to not ruin any case they may have the DA is keeping such information quiet.
Just because its not in the media doesn't mean they don't have evidence.

Wonder if they saw the Seinfeld episode where George wanted to name his future child Seven and his girlfriend's cousin & her husband "stole" the name?

It may be nice for him that he's flying business class, but I'm sure he's regretting that he won't be in his new classroom with all the little kiddies. He'd just started the new job last Tuesday and he had a whole new playground he had access to.
I'm waiting for the reports to start coming out about what happened with his other jobs, what do the private families he worked for have to tell us?

OB
I suspect that was a load of bull cookies.

Since he is a fugitive criminal in California, American LE is responsible for bringing him back to the states even if he's simply wanted for questioning.

I agree--his relatives cannot be trusted at this time--even his ex-wife,who supposedly hates him--after all,she doesn't want to be known as the ex-wife of a killer,especially a child-killer
Even if she hates him, is glad she divorced him, she probably doesn't want to face up to the thought she married a true monster, exposed her kids to the monster. Even with knowing some of what he is, I'm sure she doesn't want to believe he's a murdering, torturing child molester, just for her own peace of mind, to believe she is a better judge of character than that, or because she doesn't want to think about her sons having that type of DNA in them.

I disagree. This woman divorced her husband and took out a restraining order on him to prevent him from having contact with the children. Don;t you think she'd feel absolutely vindicated for doing so if it transpired he was a child murderer?

This is true. However, I really can not think of any reason the DA would not want it known that Karr can be placed in Colorado at the time of the crime. Of course there maybe be many good reasons that a lay person like myself would have no idea of. I just think it does more damage to the DA to not have this information out, because it puts doubt in so many minds. This is not a DA who can afford to have the people of Boulder questioning her actions at all.

If you listen to what he says he never confesses to anything, he says I was there, and it was an accident,

but he does not say I caused the accident, just there was an accident,

he has chosen his words very carefully,

they may look like spontaneous outbursts but they are not really admissions,

as if he choses later on he can implicate somebody else as causing the accident,

what he said to the Thai authorities I will await confirmation he said,

so this big confession is smoke and mirrors,
