I want to share something about WaPo. They don't play and they don't pay. Not even a free subscription. Seriously, I've never been interviewed by a major publication so I had no idea what to expect. The interview process was about 2 1/2 wks of speaking with them almost on a daily basis. Then they would go back and fact check by looking at public records, HS yearbooks at the library, workplaces etc. and interviewed people with memory to cooroberate your story. Then they call back a few days later and ask you the same question in a different way or they ask if so and so had talked to you and reminded you of a certain memory. They background check everything in your life political donations etc. and question that. But they never tell ya who they are talking to other than a random text asking 'did you know so and so'.. They keep you abreast of when the story is planned to break and keep you updated. They send you a copy of the story to review before it breaks. After the story breaks, they keep in touch to make sure you are not being harrassed and are ok for days. They don't play, this was no fly by night story, hours of research was involved....I had no idea. I tip my hat to WaPo. Just wanted to share with y'all so you know how professional they are.

Also, it was posited up thread, why now? Why not before? When Moore was running for other positions? This is a good question that spans a lot of issues and different time periods. I feel we will learn more about why as we go forward.

Growing up in this age group I can definitely say, it was different back in the day. And a woman's voice and need for respect is a long time coming. What do we tell our children about moral decency, lifestyle and respect in life, in the workplace if we don't hold a standard up to our elected officials?

For Ms. Johnson, Gloria Allred missed an important detail, but it does not discredit Johnson's story (imo).

Because this is happening during an election, it will get politicized, of course. But there is a bigger picture beyond the election results.

I agree. It used to be you see someone come forward and watch her be torn apart, victimized all over again. But now we're seeing people come forward, be supported, be believed, and predators are facing consequences. Each one makes it easier for the next one.

Actually, Juanita Broaderick and other conservative women are still being victimized. Plus just saw Mika Brezinski shamed Franken's accuser today and all of his staff are made he resigned.

He's actually changed his stories. He said he did know some of the women, then he denied that.
