Heading direcrtly for Andover. Weatherman on KSN just hustled off screen, camera guy seems to still be there.

ETA: Andover seems to have gotten through it, it's now heading for Towanda.

Tornado warning just issued for Rice and Eldon (?) counties. Tornado heading towards Salina (again, God help them).

Serious damage to Wichita being reported. Incl. McConnell AFB.

Bringing back up the NASA infrared global weather satellite. This is up to the minute information on what is going on . Looks like it's going to miss Georgia and a lot of the southern states. Also looks like it's breaking up and not intensifying. Please continue to monitor if you are in the path.

And...from the basement...dad Ruben's enjoying it all with radio on on his Blackberry and laptop radar scope in operation, daughter's freaking out a bit, son#2 in SE Wichita has lost power.

Me, I'm damned tense.

Large line of new thunderstorms in NW OK, and will cross into Kansas (if I heard that right). Will be going on all night long.

Tornado damaged a hospital in Iowa.

Genesia area in target area (third time today).

It that a hook in Missouri? That big red ball seems to border Missouri and Illinois. Be careful please.

We are fine and have electricity still... the tv weather reports have been running non stop all day long, radar screen up on the iPad and phone! The airport area is literally at least 20 miles west of my location.

We gotta talk. I am sitting here reading your posts and yelling at my computer. So what if you aren't in the direct path! Nobody tells a tornado where they can or can't go. And sometimes they don't follow direct paths.

Now it is probably over in your area and I see you are still online. I'm glad. But next time, Go To The Basement! I am warning you now, if you don't go to the basement next time I am putting ya on ignore. You Make Me Nervous!

Kidding. Kinda. But sometimes if you can see or hear a tornado it is already too late. Don't wait the next time ok?

A big "whew" here for my best friend since seventh grade and his family - and I'm praying for everyone else WS-wise and, hell, everyone-wise. Latest, after my last email closed with the words, "HOW CLOSE IS THIS CRAP TO YOU??":
Far away, Boeing and airbase hit hard. We made it through this round, but more storms will occur later. By all reports, the spotters are comparing this tornado's path with the one in '91.

Being happy and relieved with you, Wuffy. It's not over, not nearly so, so stay aware...and tell Ruben we've been praying.

Eldorado has a tornado warning, saying it looks likely it's on the ground.

Salina and Smoeln (??) are either getting hit right now or will be soon (minutes).

raeann....waiting for you to report in so I can finish taxes....lol.

It looks like it is going to be one of those nights when you pray to make it through the night, then wake up tomorrow and brace yourself for more.

I managed to work a hangnail to the quick during that little weather episode; forgot that other Kansas tradition, "Don't holler till you're hurt." All of my emails were, like, "What's your PERSONAL danger level?" and "What's that mean for, like, you guys's house?" Instead, REQ gave me, in good reporter's style, a rundown of Boeing and McConnell AFB. ARGH!!! FRIENDS!!!

Okay, all WS-ers in Wichita PLEASE REPORT IN.

Lots of damage in Wichita, lots of power loss, lines down. It may be very hard to get a message out to us, so I'll just keep the prayers going.

Yes, Mystery, it's one of those nights. Sigh.

Best-

Good gosh there's not a smilie on here that adequately reflects how hard I'm laughing.

Can't believe what SWAT chasers survived and I'm so looking forward to seeing the video once it's brokered.

RaeAnn I'm glad you are safe!

Thanks dear, I am fine, have brought MY beagle into her crate and she is not particularly happy to be there, but thought it was the best place for her. My kitty is very weather sensitive but laying calmly on the living room floor so far. The airport is to the far southwest side of town and pretty much in a direct line for this storm. I am located to the far east side of the city...actually not even within the actual city limits. McConnell AFB flew out most of their planes to another base earlier today, I am sure they are now glad that they did that.

They flew them here (NM) to Kirkland. We had 50-60 mph gusts ALL day....so I'm sure they're headed your way...and hope they push the bad weather out. Very sand blown right now and must wash hair again. ... down near freezing tonight so had to bring my plants in. Everyone in the line of the storms, please keep safe!

Praying for all in the path the storms, stay alert during the night...gonna be a bad one...

Alive and well, trees down, fence down....didn't find THAT out until i let the dog out to pee!! New neighbors caught her and we closed her onto the patio area for now.....sirens everywhere, neighbors all have trees uprooted....leaves plastered to my windows even on the second floor....
