These states are all over so I couldn't pick a region but I guess thunderstorms apply since it's about rainfall:

Drought to Deluge: Ten Rainfall Winners

http://www.wunderground.com/news/drought-deluge-ten-rainfall-winners-20130611?pageno=1

Georgia: Macon

Macon, Ga.
Jan. 1 - June 10, 2013 35.49"
Jan. 1 - June 10, 2012 12.77"
All of 2012 32.41"

A year ago, Macon was sitting in the midst of an "exceptional" level-four drought – the worst possible category in the U.S. Drought Monitor report – with less than 13 inches of rain in the bucket for the year by June 10.

It's been quite the turnaround in 2013. Of all the long-term observation sites we looked at nationwide, Macon has had the biggest improvement in absolute terms – over 22 inches more rain year-to-date than a year ago. The entire state of Georgia is now drought-free.

In fact, Macon has already blown past the rainfall total for all of last year and added three inches of rain on top of that – with the year less than half over! As you'll see on the coming pages, Macon is far from alone in that club.

The other 9 states next...

Really strange to see the Fargo highway sign almost under water!

I think my state has made up for last year's drought. Mississippi and Missouri rivers have gone from flood stage to drought to flood stage in just a few years.

Well we just had 60 plus to 70 mile an hour wind gusts! It was only for a little while so no major flooding, just some quick flooding that went away in less than half an hour. No damage in my area except a few tree limbs down.

How on earth do people endure hurricane force winds for hours on end?

Glad the storms weren't terrible. I think it will be awhile before anyone in this part of the world sees the word "storm" in the forecast and doesn't immediately tense up.

We've had "reglo" rain here for most of the night. I'll know about how much total when I peep out my back door in the daylight and see if I have a "lake" or just a "pond." lol

I can't remember who supplied us with this link:

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/CntyCov/nwrAR.htm

But thankyathankyathankya. After the last bad storms I realized that my radio had not gone off one single time. Thanks to the link above, I was able to check my radio. Sure enough it had somehow gotten off the mark. I'm sure this had nothing to do with my three grandkidz and their curious little hands who were here a couple of weeks ago! lol But again, thanks to the link the radio is on the proper frequency and we are back in business!

Speaking of links: This isn't weather-related (except when rain interferes), but it is sky-related, so I'm making that my justification for adding it here:

http://spotthestation.nasa.gov/

You sign up and then NASA sends you emails to tell you when the space station will be visible in your area. Pretty neat stuff, I think.

Again, I luv you guys, but I'm glad we didn't have to sit here all night together holding cyber hands! Hurray for "reglo" rain.

LOL lake or pond rain.

My garden totally faced north once storm went through. Don't think I've got any permanent damage....just need a south bound storm to make them stand upright again.

No major damage...I'm astonished as a few areas in our sun room leaked and it never leaks.

Like I said, I can't imagine how people withstand hurricanes with winds far worse than ours for hours on end!
