Very interesting, Lindadanette. But, even so, a court order to get his prints, and so many other things, still make me lean toward CC.

ITA - I just wonder if SC knew what JM MUST have discerned about CC. I can't believe that IF he had another relationship, relationship issues or any other venial problems that Joyce and/or Dave didn't know about it. I've been involved in core ministries before and I imagine "transparency" in individual and group meeting was prerequisite. And IF he had a relationship with someone in the organization, JM would have known. She is that powerful.

IMHO, this tragedy is going to shed light very brightly where some folks might not want to see it shine.

WOW - Something is definitely up!!!!! First they said they would continue the MTF investigation indefinitely, and now they say they've finished the investigation at the house. . . Do they have what they need or are they headed in another direction?

Nothing like true cooperation on his part to assist in finding out who murdered his wife and children:

COLUMBIA, Ill. -- Christopher Coleman, whose family was slain in Columbia, Ill., last week, briefly returned to the police station this afternoon to provide fingerprints under court order, Major Case Squad spokesman Jeff Connor said.

 I would willingly provide prints from every appendage on my body if it took me one step closer to finding out who killed my precious boys! He!!, strip me naked and I'll roll in the ink and give a print!!

Or they'll make an arrest first; and then hold a presser?!?! We'll see. Will let you all know what they say at 5. I'll watch 1 station (kmov) & record the other (ksdk) to see if they report different things. Fox & KPLR are two others, but I don't routinely watch them.

Yes...yes it is! Usually when they cancel on a scheduled presser...the reason is one of these:

a) Something new has come to their attention
b) Previous issues have been resolved which they were going to discuss
c) Scheduling conflict with the Chief or others
d) Nothing to report

I'll watch Fox and record KPLR -I normally watch KSDK, but, I sometimes watch Fox as it seems they cover a lot more in IL.

ETA - Scratch on KPLR - no 5 or 6 news. Will watch local fox

Maybe it was not just for finger prints they should be on file but maybe for hand and palm prints .

  • #538
wow! It's very interesting that they had to make him give them his fingerprints. It also made me think about how he was acting so crazy when he got home that he had to be taken away by an ambulance. Makes me wonder if that was his way of buying time or avoiding having to talk to the police.

Ill. man gives fingerprints in triple homicide

Associated Press - May 11, 2009 5:14 PM ET

COLUMBIA, Ill. (AP) - A southwestern Illinois man whose wife and two children were found murdered last week in their home has given investigators his fingerprints.

Investigators declined Monday to publicly name Chris Coleman as a suspect in last Tuesday's killing of 31-year-old Sheri Coleman and the couple's two sons, 11-year-old Garrett and 9-year-old Gavin.

Coleman and his attorney left the Columbia Police Department without answering questions from reporters. Attorney Bill Margulis said later that police did not ask Coleman any questions and that Coleman willingly gave the fingerprints.

No charges have been filed in the case. Investigators say a task force set up after the killings will continue investigations indefinitely.

Police on Monday released the home to the family.

Good point about the palm prints. I think LE got a SW because if and when the prints are used later in court, the way they were obtained will not come into question. ;)

They will not name him or anyone else as a POI/Suspect since the rules change when they do. LE will wait sometimes until the time of arrest before they name someone as a suspect. It doesn't mean they do not have a certain person on the radar or are not pursuing someone in particular. It only means they are not going to say it formally.
