If convicted, anyone know what prison he would serve his sentence?

I have never ever seen a case of a rage killing where there was planning for months. He sent his family those threats the police have the proof he planned to kill them.Of course he is to blame but as a true Woman of God how could she not Feel the evil seeping from his pores.

I'm with you. This was not a crime of passion. It was most calculated, IMHO.

No. The DOC would decided that when he is turned over to them. The safe bet is he won't be doing time at Menard, in Chester, if his brother is still a guard there.

My father has been in the hospital so this is my first chance to comment. I can't say I am shocked, but I sure am glad he was caught! Editing to say, since I have been on this forum especially I find myself always telling hubby-if he is schtupping someone behind my back, just divorce me. I won't take money, I'll leave with the clothes on my back. Just don't kill me! Another pathetic hubby that thought he wouldn't be caught..

What ever happened with going out for a pack of cigarettes and never coming back??? I would a million times over, rather have a dead beat dad -- or mom, than a dead family!

I just want to say that I know nothing about the ministry that employed Chris and I don't know anything about his dad's church either, but to believe they are involved in any way with this crime, is stretching it, imho. I mean, even his wife didn't know he was capable of murder or she would have left him a long time ago. I believe he hid this dark side of him from everyone except himself.

OTOH, Ms. Meyer better hope he doesn't know anything not above-board at his POE that COULD be going on. At this point, he's going to get desparate and try and get out of this any way he can. Turn states evidence on possible criminal behavior of anyone he knows, he may try to use it for his advantage. Not that the state would accept it, but he might try.

Nah, I don't believe anyone was in on this or aware that he was capable of such a horrendous act. IMO, I think we should leave the church out of this. I do have a problem with the way his family treated Sheri's, but then again, that's just poor human behavior and not a crime.

All Christian evangelists, regardless whether there is an ounce of truth to it or not, will be victims of attempts by non-Christians to be painted in a bad light in some manner. That's just the reality of the world we live in. As a Christian myself, I am disappointed that so many of us here were hesitant to immediately conclude that CC was guilty of killing his wife and children...but don't have a bit of hesitancy implicating Joyce Meyer in this horrendous crime simply because she was CC's employer. God forbid anyone I am related to, or even acquainted with, do something in which I am implicated simply because I am somehow associated with him/her. Wow.

May God hold Sheri and her boys in His loving hands and may He comfort all those that loved them -- including the Colemans (or are they implicated, too, just because they share genetics with CC?).

I think that this is not a judgement towards all Christians, but only what CC has practiced, in his way, himself. Personally, on every level. CC has hurt so many. Family, town where he lived, a Christian life that so many hold dear. If any person is a follower of JMM, great. Go for it. I would never place those Christians that do follow *any* religion/Church into one basket. This is about CC, Sheri, sons, and CC's involvement. Not Christians as a whole who are part of this religious association.

Who am I to say, to anyone if there religious place makes a part of their life whole, they are wrong?? :)

FWIW, this was in the initial reports of the crime in the newspaper. I'll go back and see if I can find it.

well, I wasn't 100% sure about that statement, I admit, just a thought that could be the reason that JMM is drawn into this whole thing. I would take her side, but her organization is being investigated for many financial things, like how she is making more money than a ministry is allowed to make, for example. Like how non profit organizations say they give their profits away to charities but then give their exec's huge salaries.

What really turns me off is the fact that all these so called men or women of the cloth are suppose to be humble servers..why is it they live like kings and queens,in fact they live better than the members of their churches. Why is it people can just take it upon themselves to become preachers of the word as well without the right background of training, you know these people counsel others, now that is scary in itself. Sure don't think I would want a Dr. without the right credentials or an Attorney. Would be interesting to see their background of training..but doubt there would be much to read. IMO

The media reported that on the first day. I believe a link would be in the first couple of pages on thread one.

You know what is sad? I wish that had happened. Really wished it had been an option considered.....

FWIW, there were other reports, here or there, that said Chris called her, which was why she was there. I have no idea where links to that are. But the below link should help in that she was there, on the scene, at 8 a.m.

Joyce Meyer arrived in the neighborhood about 8 a.m. today to console the neighbors. Meyer told them that Chris Coleman "needs a lot of prayer. He needs to be uplifted."

Jennifer Grimm, a neighbor who lives a block away from the Colemans, said Meyer was "heartbroken .... she came here immediately when she found out."

Hello Mck16,

I have gone back in the thread but I cannot find where it is posted that JM went to the crime scene and that CC called her. Where did that information come from? What source? TIA

If you go to the very first thread about the Coleman's (you will find the link for that in the 1st message in this thread), there were numerous links to videos and articles on the web. There were also WS messages discussing this call. I don't have the time, at the moment to look for you, but you should be able to find a link to that info. Also, you might be able to do so by Googling some things.

It is true, I just don't have a resource to confirm it for you at the moment, but I would also like to find it again for a few reasons too. Let me know if you get to it before I do, okay?

Hi there - as one of those who has questioned the relationship of JMM in this tragedy. I will tell you that I am a devout Christian - a follower of Jesus Christ. I am what you would call "born again" and I received instruction on how to speak in tongues at a Joyce Meyer conference in Ft. Myers, Florida in 1998. I have actually attended four Joyce Meyer Florida conferences.

I have also attended Harvest Bible College, participated in seminars with some of the truly great teachers of my generation (The late Jack Frost comes to mind). I still travel 50 miles to worship whenever Jason Upton is anywhere around the Tampa area. I have participated in many areas of ministry in a non-denominational evangelical church. (The Vineyard)

I don't dislike Joyce Meyer, I considered her a mentor in my walk for several years. I watched her ministry become, IMHO, a beast with a life of it's own. And THIS is what I have based my comments on. As a fellow believer who appears to know of JMM, I ask you where was the "listening" for the prompting of the Holy Spirit in this situation? I know that JM was being convicted over and over that something wasn't right - because that's how the spirit operates in the heart of a believer whose conscience hasn't been seared by hypocrisy and greed.

To His disciples, Jesus said, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses"(Luke 12:15)

JM called this man, her "dear friend". CC travelled with her, guarded her personally, spent innumerable hours immersed in the culture of JMM. Is it any wonder that Chris Coleman "changed" in the past 11 years? Look how JMM has changed! What was once a ministry is now an empire - Just like so many religious institutions before it. As JMM built mansions with money meant for social justice, CC was watching and changing his mind. At some point the gospel of "More, better, different" tempted CC to cheat on his wife - a consequence that JM may or may not know about.

If the investigators are correct, then CC was trysting with his paramour on JMM's dime. I've been to too many "clearing" sessions to imagine that SOMEONE in that inner circle didn't have a clue that CC was morally disintegrating. And if they didn't, I'm sorry - but that just tells me that no one was paying attention.

1 Timothy 6:7-11 (NKJV) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

Let this be a wake up call.

Sorry to those who are not religious - but this case is inexorably woven with the threads of a twisted gospel. No offense to you Mom of 5, this case is breaking my heart on many, many levels.

All of this is my opinion.

Ugh, I should have asked what time Nancy Grace comes on -- is it 4:00?

I think the channel is 204.
