Missing Person Case
Sherry Audrey Walker – The Charley Project
Sherry Audrey Walker
Walker was last seen at her residence in the vicinity of the 3900 block of Old Dominion Boulevard in Alexandria, Virginia on October 22, 2003.
Her family did not report her missing for six weeks because, due to her mental illness, she had a habit of dropping out of sight. Numerous Alexandria police officers saw her walking in the Arlandria neighborhood in mid-December 2003 and early January 2004, but she has not been seen or heard from since then.
Walker's neighbors stated she had planned to check into a hospital for psychiatric treatment, so when she disappeared they were not concerned. Checks at area hospitals didn't turn up any sign of her. She may be in the area of the 3800 or 4100 blocks of Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria.
Walker's case remains unsolved. Foul play is not suspected in her disappearance, but her mental illness makes her vulnerable to harm.
