Shooting at BC/Washington Border

This happened at the Peace Arch crossing, northbound into Canada. The border agent has been airlifted to hospital. The shooter has apparently died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

i'm not too far from here and just crossed back into BC the other day at another crossing nearby... scary!

hope she recovers (she is said to be "stable") but i can only imagine the PTSD that she will endure...

there is xray technology (second link below) at this crossing to detect illegals, drugs and other contraband... wouldn't guns also be detected?

I was thinking that too. I just checked the latest news and they've released the border guard's name but not the gunman...

He is a tattoo artist at Lucky Boys Tattoo Parlor in Silverdale WA and had worked in other tattoo parlors previously.

Crews is believed to have been a tattoo artist working in a tattoo parlour in Silverdale, Wash., about 20 kilometres west of Seattle.
