I'm just going to throw this out there for "food for thought". How many of us watched the funeral, not public memorial, but funeral for Princess Diana? This was televised in order for the entire world to be part of the funeral, to grieve, to pray to be a distant part of Princess Diana. I can remember the funeral being televised for President Kennedy etc., etc.

Televising Caylee's memorial (NOT funeral) will help people from all around the world start to heal.

I also believe that the media knows how to behave and respect Caylee's public memorial.

I am glad you mentioned this, I was going to bring it up as well since I did watch the Memorial for Princess Diana as well. People tend to forget that there is a big difference between a "Funeral" and a "Memorial". I think Caylee would be watching down upon us all with a great big smile seeing how many people "Love" her. This is in Caylee's honor. I personally don't give a rats butt about how or what the Anthony's will do on this day, this day should be all about Caylee. This case has always been about Casey and the Anthony's, it time to start the grieving process for Caylee and bring justice for this sweet angel.

:clap::clap::clap:

My opinion exactly.

I won't be surprised if there will be an "opportunity" for memorial goers to make "donations" to KidFinders in return for Caylee memorbilia. :furious:

Sorta like at a circus...

I really hope not...

Very good point. I wouldn't have thought of this.

I do think the public memorial should be televised. I'm hoping the public memorial will be a celebration of Caylee's life and I think everyone, all the people across the country, who have come to love Caylee should be able to participate, even if only by watching on television.

I don't believe the private funeral should be televised though. I think this family needs to be able to grieve openly together at a private service without having to worry about every eye blink being analyzed.

I think the memorial for Caylee should be televised. However, I don't agree with any money exchanging hands at all. I can't vote because that option is not there.
I feel that as long as the media memorializes Caylee in the right way, and what I mean is, not focusing on who is there, and what they are wearing, then it should be okay for them to do it. I would love to see a man of God give Caylee her last rights on this earth, only because she not only deserves them, but because the nation who loves her, deserves to feel peace in their hearts. We as a nation will not know she is buried with the respect and dignity she deserves because we will not be welcomed to see it for ourselves. At least this way, we can see with our own eyes that finally she is given some respect from a place she was taken away from before her time.:blowkiss:
ETA:
I personally prefer that her remains not be a part of a public memorial, and truly could care less if GEorge, Cindy, or Lee attend. I would prefer them bury Caylee together without a crowd. That, I feel is personal
.

We are talking about a memorial not a funeral. There would be no reason for her remains to be there.

I think that's the concern, do most of us trust that _________ (insert whoever is planning this public memorial...CA/JB/LA) will do it respectfully?

Didn't Lacey Peterson and her child have a public memorial that was broadcast by the media?

YES! And it was very well done. No circus. I think Caylee's memorial should also be broadcasted. I think it is a way of honoring her. JMO.

yes they are to 'private' events....this is not a 'private memorial' or CA would be sending out 'private invitations', & have some control of the media.

Since it's 'public', seems like the 'media' only can indeed make a 'circus' out of it.

I am curious...given Cindy, through BC, has made it clear that some people are not invited (I think it was LP she said could not come??), is it still technically a public memorial?

Wouldn't the church or someone have the power to keep cameras out of there if they wanted to?

I cannot help but wonder...Of all those that say it should not be televised, how many watched the Dale Earnhart or Steve Irwin memorials.

I think it doesn't matter what the A's do, looks like 50% will think it's wrong.

I doubt the A's can control media, as I'm sure 'media' is searching for GA's new hospital as we speak......& web cams being planned at the church, in anticipation of any 'public memorial'.

Thanks to BC they won't have to. He announced to the press that George was back home this morning.

The As appear to feel differently as they have made it clear it won't go ahead unless they have the remains. In fact, I think next week's date is still "tentative".

From your first post, you hint at at it becoming a 'media circus'.....

"Since it appears the location of the public memorial was chosen with it being "pre-wired for video" in mind, I am assuming it is intended to be broadcast. "

How many Baptist churches in Orlando seat 5000 people ???

Could be Cindys looking at this church simply because of it's size.

I voted no.
As much as everything has turned into a circus with this case, I hope that somehow Caylee can be laid to rest with some dignity. She deserves that!!
As much as I have fallen in love with this little girl imo there is no need to parade people out who may have their own reasons for being there and also trying to put on some kind of "Casey is innocent" show.
Let Caylee be buried and I will continue to honor her memory by finding ways to reach out to other children in need.
There will be enough of a circus with the trial.

You are comparing apples to oranges.....those were people who wanted the spot-light. Caylee was not. If they can do it with dignity, then I have no problem with it...but so far we have seen NO dignity from the As.

I did not watch either of these.
I have always felt a funeral is a very private affair.

Little Caylee was a toddler whose mother is charged with her muder. Caylee should be honored with dignity and not a media circus. As another post stated - let the media report it from memory of having been there.

I just cannot see the comparison to Princess Diana's funeral, or President Kennedy's. I am not sure how to put this in words, but Caylee was not a celebrity, Princess, or an assassinated President. She was not known prior to her horrific murder.

Attack this post if you must, but I would like to see Caylee honored with quiet dignity and respect. No cameras and not video taped. I know I am in the minority in this and that's okay with me.

Who knows, there was very little info in the first post...

Seems to me even tho' the church is 'pre-wired' doesn't mean 'media' def. gets to hook up.

As I just posted maybe Cindy picking this church simply because it seats 5000,........I think we need to have 'final plans' before passing judgement.

Yes, and so did little Samantha Runnion's family.

Both very tastefully done. I'm glad the Anthony's are allowing us to share in Caylee's memorial (the funeral will I'm sure be a private family affair).

We have all come to love Caylee, as many of us did Lacey and Connor and Samantha.

yes exactly! Both of these people had a huge fan base, they knew people respected them for what they did and also did things to reach out to their fans.
Caylee did not know us and we only knew of her after she was killed.
Has there ever been a huge televised memorial for another murdered child?

Hopefully they will make a formal announcement soon and we won't have to guess anymore!

I agree that just because it's wired doesn't mean media gets to hook up.

Agreed. I've seen no dignity for Caylee from any of those surrounding her. Caylee has been commoditized. I cannot support that. I cannot think of, nor have I seen, a single good reason for her memorial service to be televised. I can think of, and have seen many good reasons for it not to be.

Caylee was a real person. She never hurt a single soul in her short life. She deserves definitive protection of her dignity and respect. I wish to God somebody in her family would stand up for her.
