Should some people not be allowed to have children?

Generally, I've found that the idea of preventing some people from having children is controversial, because it reeks of eugenics. However, the reality is that people convicted of serious crimes against children are still allowed to have children, and this is somewhat disturbing. If people who were convicted of severe child abuse or child sexual abuse were sterilized, I wouldn't be very sympathetic.

We had a case in our supreme court last month of a repeat offender pedophile. I looked up his name and his father was a pedophile as well and had also spent years in prison.
I would certainly agree to having both of those men undergo a penectomy and castration. I would even perform the surgery myself without anaesthetics free of charge. That would put an end to that possible genetic trait from being passed on.
