A lady has decided for giving herself a special treat on her Seventeenth birthday by staying overnight in a very expensive & magnificent hotel.
Next morning, The Desk clerk handed her a bill of $250. She insisted to know about Highly charged bill "I accept it's a good hotel, but the rooms aren't worth $250..00 for just staying for one night - I didn't even have breakfast!" The Desk clerk told her that Two-Hundred-and-Fifty Dollars is the 'standard rate,' and breakfast had been included had she wanted it.

She insisted on Communicating to the Manager. The Manager appeared and, informed by the desk clerk, declared : "This hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and Specialized huge conference center designed and built almost exclusively to host conferences which are available for use." But I didn't use them." ''Well, they are here, and you could have."

He explained "We have the best performers (comedians, singers & dancers) from all over the world performing in this Hotel 24/7 Hrs." "But I didn't go to any of those shows.." She supplicated.
"Well, we have them, and you could have." was the response,.

No matter what facilities and services the Manager mentioned, she responded,
"But I didn't utilize it!" and the Manager contradicted with his standard response.

After several minutes debate, and with the Manager still unruffled, she decided to pay, wrote a check and gave it to him. The Manager looked at her in astonishment when he looked at the check.

"But Madam, this check is for only $50.00" "That's correct" she replied "I charged you $200.00 for sleeping with me."

"But I didn't sleep with you madam!" said the manager

Horse Talk
Here are some uses/benefits of coconut oil for horses:

1. Improving Gut Health: Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides (MCT) that are easier to digest, absorb and convert to energy than the traditionally used vegetable oils. It's been reported to assist with ulcers, acidosis, colic and dysbiosis and is particularly helpful for horses on a grain-based feed.

2. Wound Care - Apply it liberally on cuts to help fight infection and minimize proud flesh.

3. Entice Picky Eaters - Most horses seem to love the taste so it's a great way to hide less palatable supplements and medications.

4. Coat, Mane & Tail Conditioner - Unlike petroleum based or silicone based products, it's easily absorbed into hair and skin.

5. Insect Bites & Stings - Helps sooth and protect against infection.

6. Mud Fever - The anti-microbial effects are perfect for treating mud fever and helping to prevent reinfection.

7. "Cool" Energy source - Coconut Oil is energy dense and yields about 2 times more energy than starch or protein. It gives your horse a readily digestible energy, without the "hotness" that generally comes with high grain diets (great for you OTTB riders!).

8. Hoof Conditioner - This stuff will do wonders for dry cracked hooves.

9. Easy to Store Supplement - Since it's naturally resistant to rancidity, it can be safely stored at room temperature for several years versus vegetable oils which may only last a few months (I've been guilty of keeping a jug of corn oil in the feed room for WAY too long).

10. Reducing Hay - If the price of hay in your area is sky high then coconut oil can help you add extra calories without increasing your hay bill. It's also great for seniors or hard keepers that don't gain weight not matter how much hay or grass you provide.
**When adding coconut oil to your feeding program it's important to introduce it gradually and adjust according to your horse's needs. I've seen recommended dosage ranging from 1/8 to 1/2 cup per day for healthy, working horses (just to give you a rough idea).**

‘Soho Jack’? Canadian man, 91, reportedly admits to 1946 murder of London prostitute

"...The unsolved murder of Margaret Cook in November, 1946, was one of four killings that sparked rumours of a “Soho Jack,” a central London version of Jack the Ripper, who had stalked prostitutes in the city’s eastern slums 60 years earlier. ..

a man shot her in a dispute over payment for sexual services, kept the secret for a lifetime as he raised a family in Canada, then was driven by guilt to walk into an Ontario police station and confess to murdering a woman whose name he could not even remember..."

Court Delays Texas Execution That Had Been Set for Thursday

"A Texas death row inmate won an indefinite reprieve Thursday, hours before he was set to die for the slaying of a 93-year-old woman at her home during a robbery a decade ago.
The Texas Court of Criminal of Appeals halted the scheduled lethal injection of Clifton Lamar Williams until questions about some incorrect testimony at his 2006 trial can be resolved.
Williams, 31, had faced execution Thursday evening for the killing of Cecelia Schneider of Tyler, about 85 miles east of Dallas. Investigators determined she had been beaten and stabbed before her body and her bed were set on fire..."

I don't know how much work was done to prepare for the photoshoot at their house, but the Ricardos certainly look stylish in and around their home. I wonder if that was the ranch-style home they owned in Chatsworth before they divorced?

Looking at the color photos did make me think of something, though. I know her fame came later in her career after a brief, unspectacular film career in the 40's so I wonder if her red hair is a product of hair dye to hide any grey hair? I've seen one or two movies she was in but of course it's all but impossible to determine hair color from a black & white movie (although her hair color *does* look darker in the 40's movies and a bit lighter on her 50's tv show). Not sure if that difference was just the set lighting between movie and tv sets or hair color. Anyway... of all the color photographs I've ever seen of her, she's always had red hair. I just wondered if she colored her hair red like so many other people seem to do when they begin to go grey. To me she looks like a brunette in her 40's movies. Maybe she was an auburn brunette and colored it a lighter shade of red later in life? Oh well... either way, at least she didn't have Clairol light blue hair. :D

Bella Donna: Lucille Ball

"...she wasn't a natural redhead. A natural brunette, she colored her hair blonde as a starlet in the 1930s and 1940s. To look better in front of the television camera, she dyed it red and often wore a wig on the set. She stayed with that hue from the 1950s onward...."

Lucille Ball was in a lot of movies when she was a starlet- starting in 1933- about 60+ before she was Lucy Ricardo on I Love lucy. She was very good in Zeigfield Follies, Your's, Mine, and Ours and Mame (but not as good in Mame as Rosalind Russell was in the 40's, IMO)- funny in The Long, Long, Trailer, and Forever Darling. I like ro watch I Love Lucy every morning to start my day- it's all good, clean fun that any age can watch and still appreciate that wonderful screwball comedy that Desi and Lucy presented. You don't have to worry that something inapropriate will suddenly appear on that show. :scared:

I'm just a cornball at heart I guess (and I love Lucy  )

These things are so true! I miss the old days :( I can remember getting up and turning the TV on and off, looking for something to watch. I also played outside (even after dark) rode my bike all over town. When I was a kid all the kids in town would meet up and play kick the can all over town and get home late at night. No parents worried. They could hear us! Kids today do not know the value of simple living and what they are missing...

We also went the grave yard at night and would try and raise the dead...I know...we were a sick bunch of kids hahaha

One evening we were all up at the grave yard and were running to hide when we seen car lights coming up the hill. My cousin fell into an open grave they had dug that day! It was funny. She didn't think so...We never did raise any dead :) Don't know what we would have done if we did??!! LOL I think our parents would have whip the livin' tar out of us if the knew (maybe they did) :)

These are the kind of storms that make the convicts miserable in Perryville.
Glad Hunter was given "Natural Life". She had the audacity to play the race card, REALLY got a lot of people angry, you don't have much ground to stand on when race doesn't mean much to people in a multi ethnic State. Even out here in the sticks, our fire chief was black. Ain't no thing..........hate it when people bring their prejudices with them from out of state. Grrrrrrr.
Guess DeValt and 281129 have another buddy to hang out with.........now that's multi-racial. They can be the 3 Musketeers.......for life.

Backcountry safety, a matter of life or death: Near-fatal horseback fall provides teachable moment

147779a.jpg

PRESCOTT - When Dusty Spitler and Bruce Haughey went horseback riding May 2 north of Granite Mountain, they had no idea the near-fatal ordeal that awaited them.

I was wrangling up there from 1990-1993, camp kids, tourists, college kids.
The only wreck that happened up there, I was on my day off. Some idiot woman had been told numerous times that it was a "walk/ride" and the wrangler didn't pull her bridle the 2nd time she pulled her horse back and galloped up to the front of the line. A 2nd wrangler in the group had to haul butt to the house at the trail head to call 911, and get a chopper in, and the EMTs had to hike to where the woman was from there.
It was always the over weight riders that fell off for some reason, center of gravity issue I guess.
One of the main trails took us within 100' of the mountain lion den up there, caught some glimpses of mom and her youngstars a few times. It was awesome.

1. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The Ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

2. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."

3. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've seen Ahmal."

4. A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

5. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm and says: "A beer please. And one for the road."

6. Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other: "Does this taste funny to you?"

7. "Doc, I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass of Home.'"

"That sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome."

"Is it common?"

Well, "It's Not Unusual."

8. Two cows are standing next to each other in a field. Daisy says to Dolly, "I was artificially inseminated this morning."

"I don't believe you," says Dolly.

"It's true, no bull!" exclaims Daisy.

9. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.

10. Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.

11. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

12. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!" The doctor replied, "I know you can't, I've cut off your arms!"

13. I went to a seafood disco last week... and pulled a mussel.

14. What do you call a fish without an eye? A fsh.

15. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says "Dam!"

16. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.

17. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why," they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said, "I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer."

18. Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.

19. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him... A super-calloused, fragile, mystic, hexed by halitosis.

20. There was the person who sent twenty different puns to his friends, with the hope that at least ten of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did!!!!!!!!
