Ok, here's one I haven't heard in a long while, used to be one of my favorites in the old days, and don't ask me any more about that... LOL!!! Ok, I don't listen to country anymore, bad memories. But there are a few exceptions... this is one.

Say Goodbye to Shopping at Walmart at 3 A.M.

"24-hour Walmart Supercenter is fading.

Roughly 40 Walmart Supercenter locations are giving up on being open to shoppers 24/7, and many more Walmart locations could follow by closing for at least a few hours in the wee hours of the day.
According to Bloomberg, two dozen Walmart locations backed off 24-hour openings this spring, and more than a dozen others will follow suit. Affected stores include those in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland..."

These Superhumans Are Real and Their DNA Could Be Worth Billions

"Steven Pete can put his hand on a hot stove or step on a piece of glass and not feel a thing, all because of a quirk in his genes. Only a few dozen people in the world share Pete’s congenital insensitivity to pain. Drug companies see riches in his rare mutation. They also have their eye on people like Timothy Dreyer, 25, who has bones so dense he could walk away from accidents that would leave others with broken limbs. About 100 people have sclerosteosis, Dreyer’s condition..."

Well a lot has happened since Saturday. James, the dude, had agreed to come today and return my money and finish cleaning the gutters. He was a no show at the 8am start time. Of course. I texted him and he texted back stating he would be here tomorrow "guaranteed" as it was raining where he lived. Well it wasn't raining here...

As you all know, I have been trying to fix my kitchen up and I have gone 12 steps backwards. I had decorated the family room around a beautiful oriental rug; opened up the family room to the kitchen; purchased a freestanding kitchen island that I was going to paint; purchased counter height chairs to go with the island.

Well, I put the oriental rug in the living room which is my DH's cave and it goes beautifully. I took chairs from the family room to accent his maritime theme as he is a sailor/boater. OMG it is beautiful. It went from a little kitschy to yacht club chic. He loves it and I am not getting the beautiful "had to have" rug back. So, there is nothing tying the equestrian style family room together now.

I took the island back as the chairs I bought didn't fit and I didn't like the island as much as I thought I did. We put the old island back in its place so back to square one. I have no idea which direction to go in so I just stopped. The stress from James has put my brain in a condition where the processing is horrific. Damn adrenal glands and hypoxia brain. I am unable to process or think clearly and speech/memory is a problem. So I am deciding not to decide. I will figure it out when I get back to my "normal" self, which is no where near as sharp as my "former" self.

I really appreciate all the suggestions and kind words. I just want James to come back and return my money, pick up his pressure washer and just leave. I don't care about the damn gutters. Way too anxiety producing. Never ever again. I will just be plain mean ;)

Zuri, you will never be mean, but it sure helps to think like that. I would not want him to finish my gutters ... he might have an accident that costs you more in homeowners claims. Just an awful thought I had. I just hope you get your money back ASAP and can move on without him. I am so sorry this has affected your health so much. The decorating will definitely wait until you are much calmer and can put your heart into it again.

Zuri, if you're anything like me, the fun of decorating will make you feel better. It's helped me with my anger and sadness since my break in. We're not finished painting our den yet, but I did exhaust myself painting one coat of primer yesterday. It looks like a normal room now, rather than trashed walls that I've had to live with for years. Hopefully next weekend we do another coat of primer, then we paint, and rip out the carpeting. DH has promised to get it finished by the time DD goes back to school at the end of August, but after next weekend, she has shows to sing at every weekend...

Hi all!

Just got a Celebrity Death Beeper message - Ann Rule has died at age 83... Loved her books! :book:

RIP Ann :rose:

Zuri - your place sounds fabulous!! Must take pictures and share with us!

Not much going on here - resting from my trip... LOL! Oh, I did water my flowers this morning!

Trying to get into the DeOrr Kunz Jr missing thread, but I guess someone said "something" against TOS and now it's closed - I know I didn't get banned, as I'm posting this!!

Off to find out what happened in the Holmes case today!!

Later! :seeya:

Zuri, this is good advice and I hope you'll take it to heart. Even if you can't do the whole nine yards, just do what you can (for now) and you'll not only feel better, but realize that you're making progress, as well. It's all about getting the pendulum swinging in the other direction...We can get there from here! :)

I have to say that if it weren't for Ann Rule, I wouldn't be on this site. It's that simple. I became addicted to her books and writing style so long ago, but how much can one person write? I ran out of books to read, then -- voila -- websleuths! A home for precisely the kind of people who read Ann Rule's books; kindred spirits.

She seemed like such a sweet person, very soft-spoken and not at all enamored of the fame which the success of her books brought her. I am very sad to hear of her passing.

I was going to post a photo of my bathroom paint sample stripes that I have been trying to decide on for 5 years but my bathroom has a toilet sitting out in the middle of the room, unconnected, and my husband's pants were hanging on a ladder also sitting in the middle of the room. We had a water leak3 weeks ago and it has been hell ever since. The water leak was under the concrete slab that our house sits on. In Arizona, all houses sit on a slab, Ive never seen a house with a basement here. Anyway, the plumber said we could dig up the concrete and fix it, but it could happen again and again and we should go through the attic and replumb. Doing that, they cut holes through the drywall in the kitchen and bathrooms and brought the new pipes in that way. Things were going well till the plumber's helper fell through the ceiling. I was sitting in the living room and heard a tremendous noise, ran down the hall and discovered legs waving in my guest bedroom ceiling.(the plumber says they nicknamed the guy the plunger) Anyway, I will post a picture of the paint samples when my bathroom looks a little neater. I will try to post a picture of my kitchen during the drywall work. I've never posted a picture on here before, so if you don't see it, I couldn't do it,

Go for it!

I tried. For the last couple of days when I pick the picture, my tablet throws me out of the page I was trying to post to for some reason. I don't have a clue.

I do hope he did not get hurt, nor will they charge extra to fix what he damaged. But I sure would have liked to see THAT picture! :giggle:

What brand of tablet are you using, franquerolane? I might be able to help with pics if it is an iPad.

Juan's book on Amazon, "Conviction".......out in January 2016. 304 pages.

Going beyond the news reports, Martinez will explore the truth behind the multiple facades of Jodi Arias. Sparring with her from across the stand, Martinez came to know Arias like no one else could, dissecting what it took for a seemingly normal girl to become a deluded, cunning, and unrepentant murderer

Well that hits the nail on the head rather precisely doesn't it?

Seemingly Normal

Deluded
Cunning
Unrepentant
Murderer

Me too daisy, I didn't even realize she was 83, for some reason I pictured her as somewhere closer to my age ... very sad. :(
