Illustrates the difference between my father & me. He always used Navajo White. I hate it! I'm much more of a Snowfall White kinda' gal.

Almost 5 years ago, I bought some test jars of paint from Home Depot and made some test strips on a bathroom wall. They're still there.

Do you remember where you were when you heard this song?

BendPages, you blow me away with all your knowledge of trivia. You Rock, girl! Late night friend. I thought I could sleep tonight, HaHa! Tried to stay away from the computer because of those, what do you call it? I don't know, the light thingies that interfere with the sleep cycle. HaHa again. I stayed away and I still can't sleep. Go figure. :/

ETA: I was never a Beatles fan, so unfortunately I can't say where I was when i heard those songs. Oh well.

Uhhhh, oral or rectal? I think those are different other than location.

I am laughing at this one, Pages. I do recall coffee enemas as a rectal cleanse. :giggle: I think the Advocare is oral though. :)

I'm determined to get away from these blue lights or whatever it is they're called. But one last thing. My dear fur baby has this weird thing he does. He periodically will raise his nose / head up and look all around above him, back and forth, up and around, as though he's looking at something or smelling something, or whatever. And it will go on for a while sometimes, we can't figure out if he's smelling something , hearing something or seeing something. When he does it he whines a little, and appears to be somewhat distraught. It's as though he sees something above him and is upset by it. Kind of like in this photo of this dog here. It really is worrisome to us. This has been going on for several years now, nothing new.

Actually, come to think of it, it started after his Vitamin D toxicity episode from the tainted dog food when he was about 18 months old. I wonder if it could be some sort of residual effect, neurological damage or something. Does anyone here have a dog that displays this type of strange behavior? My son thinks it has to do with him sensing spirits or something like that. IDK

Heard on the weather yesterday evening that it has been since April that this area has had 4 days in a row without rain! More rain on its way into all next week :(

So, I'm making my own sunshine and sharing it with anyone who needs it :)

Cleaning Tips

Clean your mattress
We spend 1/3 of our lives laying on a mattress that can't be washed. Or can it? Pour vodka into a spray bottle, spritz lightly across your mattress and leave it to air-dry. The alcohol kills odor-causing bacteria while it disinfects the mattress.

Microwave
Halve a couple lemons and put in a glass dish with water. Zap until the water starts to boil. Let it sit and steam for a minute before opening. The gunk can now be wiped away with little effort. You might want to share this one with that co-worker who's always exploding spaghetti in the break room.

Fool-Proof Ceiling Fan Cleaner
Hook an old pillowcase over one fan blade at a time and slowly wipe it backward. The blade will be clean and the dust will be trapped inside (instead of in your hair).

Grease Stain Fixer
Got greasy fingerprints on the walls? Cover the stains with white chalk, wait a few minutes and then wipe the chalk away with a damp cloth. Works on clothes too!

Quick-Dry Wet Shoes and Gloves
Shoes and gloves soaked through from rain or snow? Shove some crumpled newspaper inside to soak it all up. A sachet of plain uncooked rice works too.

Pet Hair Squeegee
Do you live with a four-legged friend who loves to shed? Sweep your carpet with a rubber squeegee (or run your hand over it while wearing a rubber dish washing glove) and prepare to be horrified by what comes up.

Speed Up Drying Time
Pressed for time? Throw one clean dry towel in with wet clothes before starting the dryer. 15 minutes later, take it out. The dry towel will actually absorb some of the excess moisture floating around and speed up drying time.

No-Fuss Blender Cleaner
Love smoothies but hate cleaning the blender? Just fill it with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then turn it on and blend for a few seconds. Dump, rinse with clean water, and dry.

Butter Knife in the Air Vent
Cruddy air vent or A/C intake? Moisten a clean towel with your favorite cleaner and wrap around a butter knife. Now you've got the perfect tool to clean the narrow grate.

Revitalize Leather Furniture
Buff worn leather furniture with shoe polish. Scrapes and scuffs will disappear.

Onion Grill Cleaner
Halve a white onion and use a fork to rub it back and forth over the grates of a hot grill. The onion will clean the grates and add a little extra flavor.

Easy Lipstick Remover
Spray the spot with hairspray, let it set for 10 minutes, dab with a damp washcloth, and wash as normal.

Pot and Pan De-Scorcher
Fill the bottom of the pan with water and add a cup of white vinegar. Simmer. Take the pan off the stove and add 2 tablespoons baking soda. Empty the pan and scrub lightly to remove burn marks.

Shower Head Saver
Shower head covered with nasty hard water deposits? Pour distilled white vinegar in a plastic bag and fit it over the shower head with a rubber band. Let it soak for an hour (or overnight) then remove the bag and wipe scum away with a cloth.

Glass Sparkler
Tired of spotty, cloudy glasses? Just spray with some white vinegar and wipe with a paper towel.

Nastiness baked onto your favorite glass dishes? Scrub them with a ball of aluminum foil and a little dish soap.
After they've freshened your laundry, use dryer sheets to clean anything--baseboards, your television or laptop screen, bookshelves--and the anti-static chemicals will actually repel dust in the future.

Remember this kids: oil attracts oil. Next time your bacon breakfast makes a mess of the stove, add a few drops of vegetable oil to paper towel, then wipe the greasy surface and watch the oil disappear!

There’s nothing grosser than a couch that looks like you pulled it out of the alley. Use a spray bottle to cover your couch with rubbing alcohol, then use a clean white sponge to rub the couch. Fluff the fibers with a hard bristle brush when done, and it’ll look good as new.

Extraordinary Uses for Deodorant Who Would Have Thought It??

1. Prevent from bra chafing. For those endowed with a large bosom, perspiration or sweat accumulating beneath the bra could often lead to bacteria funk and skin tags. Make sure to rub/apply a good antiperspirant underneath your breasts before slipping on a bra. This way, chafing can be prevented while keeping it sweet smelling or dry.

2. Just bought a new pair of shoes that are rubbing against your feet? Put a stop to blisters by simply swiping a stick of antiperspirant around the sides of your clean, dry feet and just slip the shoes on. The deodorant works as a shield between your shoes and your skin thus lubricating those problem areas.

3. Feeling itchy caused by pesky bug bites? I tried this one and it really worked! Swipe the stick of deodorant on the affected area a few times a day or whenever it feels itchy and watch the itching vanish.

4. Keeping down stinky feet. Swipe a stick of deodorant/antiperspirant on the bottoms of your feet before hitting the bed will ward off foot odor and wetness during the day. Deodorant stops wetness and odor in porous places on our bodies and our feet are one of those places. Stick deodorants/antiperspirants will make the feet slithery until they are absorbed so make sure to wear hosiery or socks after application.

5. Trying to fit in those skinny jeans? Swiping your legs with antiperspirant/deodorant will actually lubricate or grease your legs right into a pair of tight skinny jeans or any leather related pants.

6. Dry out zits. Stick deodorant/antiperspirant is known for its drying agent, therefore you can use this to dry out zits, fever blisters and cold sores. Just be sure to designate a different deodorant for this purpose other than the one you used for your armpits.

7. Keep clammy and sweaty hands dry. Use unscented deodorant/antiperspirant over the palm of your hands to keep it dry. Of if you sweat when it comes to makeup, apply some deodorant on your face, and then apply makeup.

8. Rub on your thighs to prevent chaffing if you want to wear a cute skirt in the summer without wearing pantyhose.

9. Apply deodorant to you bikini line after shaving to prevent razor bumps.

10. Mend that squeaking door. Rub a stick of deodorant on your door hinge to get rid of that squeaky sound.

Have you tried the Skinny Shake before, it tastes like a Wendy's frosty:
3/4 cup Almond Milk
about 15 ice cubes
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1-2 Tbsp unsweetened Cocoa powder
1/3 of a Banana
Blend.

OK, I read Nurmi's book, a very short read. All he did was stopped eating so many calories and exercised and dropped 50 pounds in 9 months! Good old fashion way and common sense. His writing style has a bit of humor in it and he seems almost like the ordinary man next door. IMO

BTW: He only mentions the inmate a few times and nothing about her or his defense.

Harper Lee’s ‘Go Set a Watchman’: Read the First Chapter
Read the first chapter of Harper Lee’s ‘Go Set a Watchman,’ which will be published July 14.

In 1957, when she was 31 years old, Harper Lee submitted her first attempt at a novel to the publisher J.B. Lippincott.

Titled ‘Go Set a Watchman,’ it was set in the ’50s and opened with a woman named Jean Louise Finch returning home to Alabama. Ms. Lee’s editor found the story lacking but, seizing on flashback scenes, suggested that she write instead about her protagonist as a young girl. The result was a Pulitzer Prize-winning classic: ‘To Kill a Mockingbird.’

‘Go Set a Watchman’ will be published on Tuesday. It has undergone very little editing. “It was made clear to us that Harper Lee wanted it published as it was,” Jonathan Burnham, publisher of HarperCollins’s Harper imprint, said in a statement. “We gave the book a very light copy edit.”..."

Odd title.... 'Trimmer More There'..... Is that linguistically correct?. And where is 'there' ? :giggle:

That came from his wife. He said when she got tired she didn't say things the right way...anyhoo...she was trying to tell him that he looked thinner and it came out 'Trimmer More There' and that is how the name came for the book.
