I'm determined to get away from these blue lights or whatever it is they're called. But one last thing. My dear fur baby has this weird thing he does. He periodically will raise his nose / head up and look all around above him, back and forth, up and around, as though he's looking at something or smelling something, or whatever. And it will go on for a while sometimes, we can't figure out if he's smelling something , hearing something or seeing something. When he does it he whines a little, and appears to be somewhat distraught. It's as though he sees something above him and is upset by it. Kind of like in this photo of this dog here. It really is worrisome to us. This has been going on for several years now, nothing new.

Actually, come to think of it, it started after his Vitamin D toxicity episode from the tainted dog food when he was about 18 months old. I wonder if it could be some sort of residual effect, neurological damage or something. Does anyone here have a dog that displays this type of strange behavior? My son thinks it has to do with him sensing spirits or something like that. IDK

Hmmm, IIRC you're in east Texas. Have you heard of the Boggy Creek monster? When I was in Magnolia Arkansas in 1969, I was told you don't go out after dark. Not even to the outhouse. They said something was out there. Many say it roams east Texas ,Louisiana and Arkansas.

When my sister was seven months pregnant and living in DeRidder La. in 1967 with her husband while he was at Fort Polk, she stayed at a little two room cottage behind a large house, and said one night after she finish watching Johnny Carson and went to bed, and when she laid down she smell a terrible smell and heard something making low guttural noises. She said her bed was up against two windows to her right and two above her head, and she reached down and picked up a shotgun by the bed, and laid there all night with it watching her, She said it left at daybreak. When she told the lady in the big house about it she told my sister that it came around often, but that it wouldn't hurt her.

I do think something it out there.

COFFEEJUNKIE SAYS
I had you a big post about my houses' ghost and our animals and I lost it :( Animals do sense 'spirits' and so do babies. TRUE! On my word and many past family members will tell you this is true. He is a good ole soul and funny. He plays silly tricks on us. NOT LYING. Our fur babies go nuts when he's around. He loves babies and we know who he is. The original owner/builder of the home in 1890. He slipped and fell on the icy steps leading off the front porch, hit his head and died.

We all feel he is still watching over his families who had the honor of living here :)
I really mess this post up! lol

Oh Coffejunkie, I got cold chills from your ghost post. I don't know why I haven't thought of it before... The community where I live was originally a several hundred acre plantation back in the mid 1800's through the late 1800's. The plantation family has it's own cemetery here about a mile or so down the road from where I live. In it are buried the family and about 40 plantation workers, then known as slaves. :(

A question for Yes or No  My son says the Catholic church doesn't believe in ghosts or spirits . I know we don't need to delve deeply into religious discussions, but do you know if that's true? TIA

Interesting, I've held a long time fascination for the Big Foot monster, am remembering the movie "Legend of Boggy Creek". I think it supposedly took place somewhere near Texarkana. There are whole books and websites on that subject. Will have to do a little research to see if there's been any thing in my area.

Ok - I didn't get to start on the McStay timeline, as the Huz wanted me to drive him to the ER. His back has been hurting for like 6 weeks now from an old injury 35 years ago. I guess the "PAIN" finally got to him. I sat with him for about 2 hours, they gave him morphine for the pain and he sent me home. They still had to do xrays on his back and other things, so he said he would give me a call when he was ready to go home OR if they decide to keep him... hoping NOT too long - I don't cook!!??!!!! AHHHH!! LOL! Fast food here I come!

Going to check out for the night! See you all tomorrow! :seeya:

My cousin and I went Wednesday to the Frazier Museum here in Lou. to see the “Love, Shirley Temple” traveling museum exhibition. It was a wonderful experience! All her little costumes and even her shoes were on display.

There were exhibits of her very own "personal" memorabilia, which included her autograph book, personal letters she received from President Franklin Roosevelt, an accordion that a fan sent her with her name engraved on it, pictures she drew, her own little typewriter, dolls and the slingshot she used to used to shoot Eleanor Roosevelt in the behind with, :giggle: Just all kinds of things.

Wed. was the last day in Lou., and I swear there were people there (MEN and women) from all over the country!
I love Shirley Temple :heartbeat:

Her children have already donated a lot of her things to various places, such as her academy awards.
Here is an article that tells about the 8 city/states that were fortune enough to host her "traveling museum exhibition." The next stop is Missouri, where everything will be auctioned off. :frown:

I love Shirley's movies too. Thanks for the links. :loveyou:

Ghosts in the Catholic Church? It depends on who you ask. Basically, your son is correct. You will not find anything about ghosts and such in the Catechism of the Catholic Church- there's more to it, but I'll leave it at that on the Sidebar, so we don't get in trouble. :floorlaugh:

$10 bill change rankles descendant of Alexander Hamilton
