I don't know, ILTBP, the Scandinavian countries have been placing their military in defensive positions for almost 2 years, 10 NATO countries, including the US, and non-NATO Finland and Sweden, in the Baltic, Black Sea and Finnish border. Finland sent out notices to over 900,000 reservists back in May. The Swedish Navy has been very active in the last year patrolling the seas in that area.
The years I went to Scandinavia, 69, 74, 75, Russian was taught in school over there, and as it was explained to me, it was because Russia was seen as their biggest threat.
They also had non-alcoholic beer in the vending machines at high schools.
Cohabitation? Back in 68, it didn't seem to be a big issue, it was all over the place.
Violent movies had what would be considered X ratings, while sexually explicit movies were main stream, probably because Scandinavia didn't have the puritanical views on sex that Western Nations had.
I can't remember but a few people who actually practiced or worshiped weekly at any religion, except a few converted Mormons.
There has been a steady stream of migrants from the Middle east into Europe for decades, many are immigrant workers who stay.
Syria is just a hot topic because MSM wants to make it such. They have been, and are far more mass exoduses from countries in Africa, like Somalia, which never seems to get much play in the media, even though re-settlement in the US for Somali's run in the 10's of thousands every year for most of 2+ decades.
I take prophetic admonishments with a grain of salt. All of it can be modified to fit a particular situation.
When the Gulf war happened and later 911, and the US and Allies went to war, the same banter started up about Israel and the End of Days. I coudn't throw a rock without hitting someone who REALLY thought "This is it".
If it states in the Bible
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. Mark 13.32-33,
it's quite clear that no one can predict what, when, or how "the end" is going to come. And many scholars believe it was nothing more than the foretelling of the destruction of the Temple, which had already happened, and Jesus rising from the dead 3 days after the crucifixion.
Anyone trying to predict the 2nd coming, end days, etc., is someone I would classify as a "soothsayer", "psychic", "fortune teller" or "wizard" which is totally against the bible. Nostradamus was no different.
My bottom line: Live everyday as happy as possible, be good to others, and no one gets out of this reality alive in the end, so why worry about it? So many people worry about what happens AFTER they die, that they never truly LIVE.
JMO......I just believe that the bible is a rehash of Gilgamesh, Greek mythology, Egyptian gods, Krishna, and the like. Same premise, just the names and places have been changed. To each his own.
All I do know is whatever caused the existence of this planet and all it's awesomeness is pretty cool. And if it all started from a rock from Mars, doesn't matter, it's still amazing.
