Hello all!

Well, the heart surgeon said "no, he wants to wait until ALL his blood count is normal..." So the Huz is disappointed about that! I will be waiting :waiting: around here for a call from the hospital down the hill for an appointment for his bone marrow extraction. If I don't hear from them by 2pm, I'm supposed to call them. :phone: I want to make it for tomorrow or Friday, that way I can get an appointment for the results in a week!

This thread is getting screwy while I'm trying to post here... :pcguru: Hoping all gets posted!

YESorNO - if you didn't notice - you have 4 more posts to make to reach 12,000 posts! :happydance:
That's a LOT of posting!

Off to read my other threads! Oh, if any of you are following the Sierra LaMar case from California - they found a body in the Los Gatos hills - not far from where she was last.... crossing fingers that it IS her!!

Later! :seeya:

1962 - I Remember You - Frank Ifield tops the charts. I see several have escaped and have one on the run. Good we all need it. I'm tired. October has seen my nephews 48 birthday on the 4th - my great nephews wedding on the 8th - my sister's 50th wedding anniversary on the 9th - and yesterday was my beautiful baby girl 39th birthday, and the month isn't over yet. I seem to be having a harder time this year with October. On the twenty first will be the 41st anniversary of my mother's death, and I want to post something about to her. She's been on my mind alot lately.

Was a bad night for me...could not find a position where I didn't hurt. Slept off and on. Went sleep today around noon and slept till 4. Sure hope I can sleep tonight. Going take a mild pain pill before bedtime and see if that helps. This really hurts and I have a very high pain tolerance, so when I say that I hurt, I hurt!

Made myself get up and move around, sit at the table for dinner and did my funny little right-sided-shuffle-walk into here so I could check my mail and read the thread. When I am better going start following Sierra LaMar. Sounds interesting from what you post.

All have a lovely evening. Good night my dear friends.

I, too, wonder what happened to Sheriff Joe's report. (darned icons won't work tonight)

Sweet coffeeJ, I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. Sending soft hugs and feel-betters (jingles!) your way.

Very quiet here this morning. Hope everyone is OK. CoffeJ, you are missed.

Very cool this morning, but a beautiful fall day. We are making our "winter preps" now.

Have a good Thursday, peeps.

'God bless your heart': Convicted cop killer makes final statement to victim's daughter before he is executed

"Licho Escamilla was executed on Wednesday night in Texas after gunning down off-duty police officer Christopher Kevin James with a semi-automatic handgun on Thanksgiving weekend in 2001.

The 33-year-old prisoner, who was 19 at the time of the slaying, was pronounced dead at 6:31 pm CDT - 18 minutes after the lethal injection began...

He turned to his relatives watching through another window and said he loved them and everyone who supported him.

'Pope Francis, God's children has asked the state of Texas to switch my death sentence to life in prison,' he said. 'But the state of Texas has refused to listen to God's children.

'They will have to take that up with God,' he added.

He took two breaths as the sedative pentobarbital took effect, then became still. His sister cried and screamed for God not to take him.

The rumbling of motorcycles could be heard outside the prison where bikers supporting the punishment had gathered.."

Trial date set for accused killer of Sierra LaMar

"More than three years after Morgan Hill teenager Sierra LaMar went missing, a trial date was set Wednesday for her accused killer.

Antolin Garcia-Torres, 23, will go to trial in April on a murder charge even though the body of the 15-year-old girl — who is presumed dead by authorities — hasn’t been found after exhaustive searches of waterways, trails and rugged country throughout the region.

Santa Clara County prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Garcia-Torres. He has pleaded not guilty to a grand jury indictment alleging that he killed Sierra in 2012 and tried to kidnap three women in 2009...."

Cradle to Grave

"Homicide Hal has always been concerned that the Noe case is a ditzel.

[sidebar]The renowned forensic pathologist thought the case might be a ditzel back in 1963, when he did the autopsy on the sixth healthy infant that Art and Marie Noe had lost to “crib death.” And he was completely honest with that nun who called him at the medical examiner’s office in 1966 to inform him that the Noes were listing him as a reference on their adoption application — after having lost a record nine babies..."

Another Year Passes in the Search for Cody Haynes

"...What exactly happened to Cody is up for debate. He had previously been removed from his mother's care in Colorado.

On September 11, 2004, Cody and his step-mother reportedly got in an argument about Cody not following the 'house rules', ending with Cody being forced to sit in the kitchen until midnight as punishment. Then he was ordered to a second-floor bedroom, according to statements made in the months after, by Steve Dunnagan, the Kittitas Police Chief at the time. I like that thought about depression-- I also have another thought and that would be depression can be contagious. I think everyone in my house has experienced it to some level. Such a dark little cloud amongst us.

Had my mohs surgery yesterday and they only had to go after the basal cell once and stitched it up. Sadly it's on my left side and that's the side I sleep on. I'm so tired---between husbands snoring/talking in sleep and having to sleep on back...

BBM mohs surgery???? (of course I had to Google):

YESorNO I got tickled at the article you posted about buying leaves
the website said
Each bundle includes three leaves, in a mix of colors, for $19.99, plus shipping. Am I interpreting it wrong? How in the hell can 3 leaves be a BUNDLE? Oh well it made me laugh anyway, and that's always a good thing.

Just so ya'll know, I will rake up my entire back yard and put them in a big black "leaf bag" and send them to you.
And Its for free.

We're lucky- we have trees that have little leaves in the yard and they just disappear over the Winter. :autumn:

I did a no-no yesterday and burned a leaf- just for the smell (not allowed to burn leaves anymore :( ). I love the smell- it smells so good to me. When I lived in NYC, years ago, you could tell it was Fall just by the smell of burning leaves. Ah- nostalgia. :)

Nice to see you back posting! I've missed all this news! :D

Re Autumn Leaves - you'll send them to me free, right??!! :autumn:

I love the piggie in the pumpkin! Saved that for my FB page for Halloween!

On your "Is it Sweater Weather yet?" That popiscle reminds I better check the coils in the freezer - as I had popiscles looking like that one! LOL!

Oh Bernina! :happydance: Sounds like you had a great ride! Glad you've found some of your old friends again! Enjoy life! :D

Now the Huz wants me to see if I can get the heart dr. and hematologist together, so he can get his pacemaker. Meaning give him 3 or whatever units of red blood cells and put in the pacemaker. So I've called the heart specialist and his nurse said to go ahead and send the blood results and will give them to the doctor who will be doing surgery. Then called the meatologist's nurse and her the fax # of the heart specialist! I hope this works. His heart is really weak and he thinks he would get better much faster with the pacemaker. We shall "see" what each doctor says! :waiting:

Okay - logging off for the night! :pcguru:

:seeya:

Niner, I am losing sleep over this whole thing as you and your DH must be as well. First, who in the heck is in CHARGE of his care? One doctor. Like a primary physician. Like the Quaterback? Who is calling the shots? Typically there is ONE doctor who brings in the specialists to treat and diagnose the varying medical issues.

Please forgive me because the medical part of my pea brain that is working has been trying to make sense of all this. There has to be a working diagnosis. There is a reason why he has weight loss, low RBC counts requiring transfusions, needs a pacemaker, all of it. Out of what field did they decide a bone marrow aspiration was warranted?

This is no joke. Your poor DH is really sick. I don't know where you live or the access to medical care. I hope and pray he has Medicaid or Medicare. I am overstepping here with my confused addled brain, but your DH needs a professional physician calling the shots and coordinating his care so that it is not up to you to do it. Who is advocating for you and your DH? I wish I was there, so I could use my ER voice (which tends to scare people and get results) and help you figure things out. If my DH MD was confused as to what they were doing from the small bit of info you shared, I can't imagine what you are going through.

Please, please DEMAND a meeting of all the physicians so you can get an idea of what the TOTAL treatment plan is, not just bits and pieces. On a positive note, the RBC not only made him pinker, but probably helped him breathe better as he didn't have enough cells carrying oxygen. I am just so very sorry you are going through this. Please forgive my forthrightness. It is my lack of oxygen talking... I care.

Great too see Dmacky and Zuri posting!! Zuri, I must say your sense of humor is awesome! I know how you feel about being huge...I am also doing prednisone "huge club". And, Niner what can I say about them messing up your hubby's test. Would make me mad as all get out.

Well dear peeps, I have gone and pulled some lower back muscles and in much pain. Went the Dr yesterday and got a shot of steroids and they upped my dose of prednisone and I got some mild pain pills. I'm staying in bed most of the time on heating pad and then ice. Just hurts when I move! Getting out of bed is a major production!

Our grandson is getting married this weekend down in Tenn and Dr said they will get me to the wedding in spite of my back pain. We already have reservations at the hotel. May be loopy from the pain pills, but...I'm going to that wedding!! My SUV has a plug in in the back seating area for electronic devices, thinking I can take my heating pad and plug it in? I also have adjustable lumbar and heated seats in front that I can maybe find a comfy position or at least be able do adjustments during the trip. She told me stop and get out of the car and walk around every couple hours. Doc said call her Thurs and let her know how I'm feeling and she may give me different pain meds for the trip.

Time for some heat again. Going back bed. Everyone enjoy your day.

Please don't forget ICE is your friend and get some BioFreeze or equivalent and layer it on. Changing positions is perfect. I hope you can enjoy the wedding and don't be afraid to ask the handsome help for assistance. Enjoy!

JINGLES!!!!!!!
It's that time of the year, or just an extension of that previous "time of the year", we just need a month where everyone is feeling good and everything is chilled out!
:gaah:

Ok, spilling the beans (did some editing) on Saturday's adventure:
The Red and White Poker Run was a multi club/group event, just bikers from all walks of life, and the wonderful people at the Az Gang Task Force, aka GITTEM, followed any and every one who participated from Phoenix (even though it officially started in Black Canyon City) all the way to Chino Valley. I believe it was someone from GITTEM who was one of the many callers who asked for assistance when 2 riders got snared up in an auto wreck in front of the Prescott Airport. We were a mile ahead of them.
Two injured in multi-vehicle crash on Highway 89
http://dcourier.com/main.asp?FromHome=1&TypeID=1&ArticleID=150742&SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1086

It wasn't until we got to Chino that the reason we had a following became clear. Sonny Barger had moved to Chino Valley. So we probably all had pictures taken of us at various points of the ride...........I get it, I just don't want to become infamous, lol!
Good people, good food, exhilarating ride, just a really fantastic day that ended back in Phoenix.....I haven't felt so alive in a long time.
I haven't been on the back of a motorcycle for 35 years and it was just the ticket to get me in a positive place. My old school bud, Marc, let me ride with him, he had blues playing on his speakers all the way up and back, which probably took most automobile drivers by surprise :floorlaugh: there's something to be said about the sounds of a Harley and blues music that just makes the scenery more intriguing.
And the weather was perfect.
I'm going to be splitting my time between Phoenix and here, didn't realize how much I have missed my old friends.
Playing catch up!
Hope all my peeps who are under the weather feel better very, VERY soon!
Zuri, glad to see you back! Baby waiting has started, lol!

I am so happy that you have had this trip to give you a renewed outlook on life. You are one of the hardest working women I know of as running a ranch with little help is a HUGE job and responsibility. I pay a pretty penny to have my two taken care of and I am required to do nothing, basically. Well, my daughter does. If she had to do what you do, I guarantee it would last less than a day. Except the truck part. She wants your truck.

So happy for you. Xo
