To be fair (cough, cough), Novel Rank only appears to take into account what is sold by Amazon. It doesn't include other online stores, book & mortar stores, libraries, or talk shows that give the books to their audiences. So, we probably need to double the numbers at Novel Rank.

Just for the record, I checked my public library's website and they have 5 copies in their system. :what: They also have five copies of JA's book.

Wasn't it nice of Jose to make that kind of a donation to a library? I can tell you how many books our huge Chapters/Indigo sold of the book - is none. And they have none in their systems so I'm guessing it's not flying off the shelves anywhere...

And if NovelRank only checks Amazon, why fudge the numbers?

I would assume that if Amazon is "doing this" for Baez, they do it for all their books; therefore all sales reports for Ashton's book are invalid also.

Just by the shear number of people who claimed here on WS's that they had pre-ordered copies of Ashton's book I think it was highly unlikely Amazon had to "fudge" any sale's reports for Mr. Ashton. I think most people are intelligent enough to spot a lie when they see it and if it's within the first few pages of the book IMI the book would go back on the shelf as not worth wasting their time reading it. Let's face it I think the world is done with KC and her lies. It's pretty clear (if you are not in a state of denial) what happened to Caylee and even clearer who put that duct tape on her face. jmo

I checked with my regional library which has any number of branches. There are 11 requests for the book and 2 are listed as "on order," up one copy on order from last week. I'll have to check to see if it's arrived.

The large, affluent county to the north of me used to list 2 copies. Now, it is listed as not available. Maybe they cancelled their order?

I know libraries are always short on money, so they are careful in what they buy. Maybe they've followed the Amazon reviews and decided it wasn'tworht ordering???

My area library system has five of the books on pre-order and already has 40 hold requests. Good grief. But then, I'm in Florida and not all that far from Orlando, plus Dottie the Hugging Lawyer is based in Ocala, so maybe it's the local angle that appeals. Or maybe it's just perverse curiosity! At least these readers aren't actually buying the book. (But I thank the Websleuthers who did and are slogging through it for the rest of us who don't have such strong stomachs!)

P.S. On the good news front: There are 12 copies of Jeff Ashton's book and most of them are checked out!

JA sold many thousands of books and if you check the reviews on Amazon- average customers rating is it 4 1/2 *... there are 264 reviews.

I'll ask my primary library system if they have it but if you can't even buy it in the major book chain, I'm going to be shocked if they do.:what:
Course I'm in Canada so I doubt it's such a curiosity here....

Okay, still trying to slog my way through this waste of paper, and just had to share this brilliant quote from the book.

"I have to say I never liked Amy. Yes, Casey stole some of her checks and cashed them, but that's no excuse for her stabbing her supposed best friend in the back."

Really? REALLY?

And how did Amy stab Casey in the back exactly?? By bringing Casey's distraught mother, who was terrified that Caylee was dead, to Tony's apartment so that Casey could clear everything up?

ETA: Well, I guess that's not what JB was talking about anyway, because Amy didn't even know about the checks at that time. So what was he talking about??

I just checked my local library. NONE! They don't even have Jeff's book either.

This brilliant quote is from when he is describing the trial. So I guess (who ever really knows with this pile of steaming carp) he is referring to Amy testifying. OR it could be that Amy had the audacity to press charges against the evil b...errrr...witch.

Yes, imagine pressing charges for such a small thing as cleaning out her bank account while Amy was away on holidays - it was no secret Amy worked hard for her money and didn't have much back then.

And I'm guessing also that Amy knew by then what happened to her missing $400 that FCA claimed Amy hid/moved when she was sleepwalking...

I think this gives us a quick thumbnail of Baez's basic personality - stealing between friends is okay - what's the big deal....

And that, my friends, tells you everything you'll ever need to know about one Jose Baez. Whatever you do, never TRUST him. ::totally disgusted::

OK, I am not sure of which of JB's book promotion interviews he said this because I have not been listening to his crap other than when someone puts him in his place...but...I recall him having defended Casey's stealing from Amy with "she had no money and no place to live, so she had no choice but to steal." That is paraphrased but it is what he said. I got the impression JB was trying to get people to believe Casey stealing from her family and friend was done out of desperation rather than malice. Because, to JB if people are willing to consider that, they might then see that Casey was Amy's victim instead of how it really was, IMO.

Poor thing.

Morally speaking, though, I suppose some of us, even in desperation, would try asking before stealing.

And then we might limit our stealing to necessities of life, rather than bras and beer.

Ya okaaaay, I suppose KC believes this nonsense too eh? um, who stabbed who in the back JB?
All that man is good for is twisting the truth at every turn.
KC certainly met her match didn't she?
I can hardly wait till she goes after you JB. I would pay to see that AND I will believe every word she says.....

Speaking of Amy sleepwalking, I'm curious to know the date chloroform was looked up & the date this incident took place.
Could she have used some on Amy that night?

Casey had her knife in Amy's back for a long time!. Let's not forget Amy was homeless and camping out at Ricardo's because of Casey's little house trick. She sent her camera to Hope Spring and never got it back. Her charges against Casey made her a felon. She got up on the stand and told the whole truth and nothing but.

I guess telling the whole truth was the real stab in Casey's back that JB can't understand. After all, what are friends for???

Oh, oh, oh! I just remembered something else I read last night that I wanted to share with everyone.

JB was talking about when the prosecution was playing the first call home from jail.

"From a defendant's standpoint, it was terrible. She sounded cold and heartless. All these people were trying to find out what happened to Caylee, and she's being *****y (ETA: witchy with a b) with them. The prosecution used the tape to bash her at trial.

I was sympathetic to Casey's trauma, but still, hearing her sound so heartless was infuriating. While it was being played I leaned over and said to her, "If this jury doesn't kill you, I will.""

I want to know why he hasn't made good on that promise.
