In the book does Jose claim that paternity tests of George and/or Lee were never released to the public? That they were sealed? Paternity of Caylee that is.

I dont know about that but I did read something very interesting. When Najame took the case on to defend Cindy and George he did require them to take a lie detector test in his office. The results have never been disclosed up until today. If we all remember that far back, he didn't want anything to do with the case a short period of time later. It was apparently their second test that was done. Baez claims that the results must have been different the second time around and they had to do it twice to get the results they wanted or that suited them????

I just went back and reviewed what he wrote. Basically he says that the prosecution delayed giving them the results of the testing, that they had to file a motion to get them.

He then states that they received the results after George's suicide attempt (which obviously was because he feared the results of the test being made public (because Casey had told him he WAS the father)) and that it showed that neither George nor Lee were the father of Caylee.

I didnt get to that part yet...gross and a very serious accusation both at trial and now. Even now he is writing that george was afraid of the results which is why he attempted suicide yet it's all from beaz's perspective. The whole book is his own ASSUMPTIONS that he freely writes about for the nation to read

Just by the shear number of people who claimed here on WS's that they had pre-ordered copies of Ashton's book I think it was highly unlikely Amazon had to "fudge" any sale's reports for Mr. Ashton. I think most people are intelligent enough to spot a lie when they see it and if it's within the first few pages of the book IMI the book would go back on the shelf as not worth wasting their time reading it. Let's face it I think the world is done with KC and her lies. It's pretty clear (if you are not in a state of denial) what happened to Caylee and even clearer who put that duct tape on her face. jmo

The vast majority of the thinking public knows that it was made very clear during trial. Unfortunately those 12 that were supposed to make an informed decision left their brains at the door.

It wasn't Amy that pressed charges....it was Bank of America. Amy had to agree to let them so she could get reimbursed for the fraud compliant that BOA would file against KC. So it's really not Amy KC's mad at, it's BOA. How dare they bring charges when they never pursued the money she stole from her grandfather's account which was also BOA. So JB didn't even get that right. And Amy received a subpoena for the trial. What is JB suggesting that Amy lie while under oath. Is that what best friends do for someone who cleaned out your account? Or maybe KC expected a thank you card from Amy for spending all that money so that Amy did not have to. Someone go get those drinks and bring them back to the sidebar now before I implode. jmo

BBM - Sure, after all, her family lied, why wouldn't Amy?

My area library system has five of the books on pre-order and already has 40 hold requests. Good grief. But then, I'm in Florida and not all that far from Orlando, plus Dottie the Hugging Lawyer is based in Ocala, so maybe it's the local angle that appeals. Or maybe it's just perverse curiosity! At least these readers aren't actually buying the book. (But I thank the Websleuthers who did and are slogging through it for the rest of us who don't have such strong stomachs!)

P.S. On the good news front: There are 12 copies of Jeff Ashton's book and most of them are checked out!

An amusing (well, I think so) postscript: according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Marion County, Florida (as of 2011) is 332,527...and a grand total of 40 of them want to borrow Jose's book from the local library! Hilarious! Now I feel better.

Or Casey could have Caylee's hair on her clothing from dressing her and then gone into the trunk to retrieve something, transferring the hair in the process. Put simply, every trunk has hair in it. Melich failed to mention that Casey's hair, and even animal hair, was found in the trunk well, but no one was accusing Casey of throwing her cats in the trunk."

With long hair I'm sure her hair and DNA were all over the car....
But, did he happen to mention the hair with the death band? How common is it to find hairs from the head of a dead child in your trunk?

Seriously - what a dufus comment - it isn't that there weren't any hairs in the trunk - it was that little Caylee's hair had a death band - which according to the testimony in the Frye hearings is only visible when it falls off the head of a DEAD person - still reading Jose? :maddening:

I wish I could remember which book site I was on yesterday - it stated that Baez had sold a grand total of 2800 books, total from all sales. :floorlaugh:
Jaycee Dugard sold 175000 on her first day! That is sweet!

Why keep blaming Ashton...there were 3 sitting at the prosecution table and Mr. The buck stops here Lamar could have stepped in at anytime and removed any of these people and done the job himself.

Okay, still trying to slog my way through this waste of paper, and just had to share this brilliant quote from the book.

One thing is for sure about Amy. She WAS a good friend and Casey wasn't. Casey even said it herself to the judge in her apology at sentencing (if we are to believe her).

As for Amy, I hope she is living La Bella Vita. Last heard from at trial time, she was working on a cruise ship and based in Barcelona. It's hard work, but she was getting to see a whole new world and lots of new people. I wish only the best for her after all she went through.

The pictures released by the media belong to the media. If you remember these pictures were sold to various media outlets by RM, KC and her family. So it would be ABC or National Enquirer that would need to object. KC and her family have already given their consent when they accepted money for them. jmo

It's not exactly that clear-cut - the parent/guardian always retains usage rights. They've licensed to ABC,etc for them to use - but ABC cannot transfer usage rights. They COULD object if they bought an exclusive. Internet usage has made this a really grey area though. KC and CA would still have reasonable means to object to her likeness being used without their authorization, unfortunately. Pretty much always and forever

Again, NAL, just experience with licensing.
