Yes, right - especially since they seem to be wanting to keep any money CA has paid to FCA a secret - but thank you Judge - let's see if we can get this information anyhow!

He sounds like a peach, Nore; my guy, too. And he's funny. When he first started discussing Symbicort, I started wailing about the cost and he said "Chill, baby! I'm goin' shoppin'," then left the room and promptly reappeared with a sack of freebies. I love the guy. Good thing for folks like us that there are some helpful, compassionate docs out there. Too bad we can't have ours cloned, eh? And really too bad that non-generic drugs are so insanely expensive. Thanks, Big Pharma. Not.

At least you've got super doctors - mine is so darned grouchy - never has time for anything except to give me reams of scripts for tests - which I never have done. You would think she'd figure out I just throw them away! I'm pretty healthy except for high BP so tests are just a waste on our system. Note to self to find a new doctor with a sense of humour!

Edited to add - she sends me for stuff like bone density scans - and when I get there they say why are you here again? You have the bones of a 30 year old....just silly stuff!

Gerald's Game....every woman's worst nightmare. It would be bad enough to have your partner die during it...but the handcuffs really sealed the deal.

I am genetically very lucky- some arthritis, self inflicted but other than that - so far so good! And yes, I realize compared to some, despite how well they take care of themselves - I am blessed.

did you really think so?? that one didnt freak me out too badly but the stand?? I had nightmares for weeks...and the dome, I couldnt draw a breath for more than half the book ohmygosh.

The Stand, one of my all time favorites. The one that really creeped me out, was and is, The Shining. I change the channel...:runaway:... real quick when I see that movie.

Ok...speaking of books, I just finished reading Defending Jacob. I have to say, in spite of hearing such great things about the book, I just didn't love it. I don't know what it is with me, but lately I find myself picking books apart...especially mystery/crime books. The premise of the books just seem stupid to me (Gone Girl, in particular). I don't seem to have any patience for them anymore. Maybe it's because I followed this case so closely, got so involved in the intricacies of the law, and was so emotionally invested...but I just don't find these books "entertaining", at least enough to hold my interest.

PS- Oh, I did walk away with something from the book...I'm more convinced than ever that Casey was responsible for the death of her child. The whole molestation business IMO was included for mitigation purposes...her DT was well aware that she was guilty but needed to find something (anything) that would, in the end, spare her life.

Just a quick note to add - was thinking about Jeff, Linda working with him, and how well he presented himself to the media after the verdict.
Even though I'm very bored with Jose and his book stats - I decided to look the two up:

LG, don't worry...it wasn't your fault (lol). I had read reviews a while back and wanted to read it since then. My daughter also wanted to read it and surprised me with it before our trip. I had read about 50 pages after 3 days...which is so NOT me.

I agree. I also think George was complicit with her defense team- it came as such a surprise to ALL of them that she was found not guilty- now he has that on his conscience and he is also vilified for being a molester - and all for nothing.
His daughter is off the hook and he fell on his sword for nothing! LOL

Cindy clearly knew she was going to refute her earlier testimony. She was obviously schooled well by one of her attorneys because she knew to use the "medicine" card.

I agree with you RR0004 re: Gone Girl, I was SO disappointed in that book! I read the reviews, and I really don't trust reviews on Amazon much anymore unless there are 100+ or more positive (way before the JB book fiasco and fake reviews for BOTH sides, I don't trust Amazon reviews anymore, folks pay to have good reviews written about their books, especially self-published)

ANYWAY, Gone Girl has SO many positive reviews, I was excited to start reading it. But I could barely stay with it, I had to force myself through amost the whole book, thinking this HAS to get better! The writing style at the very beginning was so poor, "then he said A, and she said B, so he said A, and she then said B", you get my drift. The middle was OK, and the end was so anticlimactic. I don't see why so many people found that book so good. I am an avid reader, and I don't think it had anything to do with this trial, I just don't think the book was that good!!

RR0004, I've always thought we were twinsies... I recently finished Defending Jacob too, and was able to figure most of it out 1/2 way in... it was good, not great, but also wonder if we become jaded to this suject due to real life?

You're probably right. It was just so convoluted, IMO. When I finished it today I asked my daughter for something "simple" to read. Something "nice" to read.

I read the reviews, and I really don't trust reviews on Amazon much anymore unless there are 100+ or more positive (way before the JB book fiasco and fake reviews for BOTH sides, I don't trust Amazon reviews anymore, folks pay to have good reviews written about their books, especially self-published)

Yes, I read the first couple of pages and thought oh geez - no way. They need to at least be well written. My DD lent me one of Janet Evanovich - now that last name isn't right but maybe you understand who I meant - completely juvenile writing..:banghead:

Wow can you get bigger names than Lee Child, Ian Rankin and Val McDermid to slam the use of so called sock-puppets or authors who write their own 5 star reviews in glowing terms!
