BBM. For the record, Ashton's book was as "ghostwritten" as Baez's. "Imperfect Justice" was co-written by Lisa Pulitzer, a former New York Times correspondent who has written other true-crime books, including "Portrait of a Monster," about Joran van der Sloot, a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of American Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

Not only that, based on the speed it was written, IMO, he was writing the book before and during the trial itself, while he was being paid by the State of Florida to prosecute Casey Anthony.

Jeff AShton retired from public service at the end of the trial - July 2011.
He announced in August that he was writing a book about his career and his part in this trial. I don't recall seeing him doing other than appropriate work in Court ( as opposed to Baez who treating the court with contempt and was having fun and games with Casey) and he presumably had days off and weekends off to compose his book if he was even doing it then.

In the book, Baez mentions multiple times that Anthony was "almost ecstatic" to be in jail, which baffled him for a long time.

I totally believe this - In Jail, she thought she was important person, and held defense team meetings, had articles written all about her, was on TV, had money in her snack account, and read and wrote letters all day.

Before jail, she was a high school drop out, with no job or money of her own, she stole from her family & friends and who knows who else, and spent her days roaming the street of Orlando in her Brothers/Parents car like a nomad. Her entire life, sans Caylee, was a lie. Everyday she lied and accomplished nothing but bad things. How exhausting it must be to be this pathetic. She was a 22 year old self-made loser when she went into jail, and not much has changed for OCA at 26+ years. She is a complete fail as a human being.

I can't wait until she is arrested again on some stupid theft charge, because her "Boys" ain't bring home the bacon like they planned.

Sure she was - she was in protective custody, she was the centre of attention and best of all, neither her mother or her father could get at her to demand answers about what happened to Caylee. She didn't need to have them visit, didn't need to take their calls, or read their letters. She only needed to talk to people who thought she was innocent.
I actually doubt she was "estatic" to be in jail - she was probably estatic to have visitors. Besides, once Caylee's body had been found, and we were tracking her visitors, was it not true that Baez rarely went to see her? For the last year months went by without him even dropping in.

That was an interesting question - but I couldn't tell by hopping into Amazon to have a look. If anyone knows - could you post it? It isn't listed under biographies and memoirs - I do know that.

I did notice the Baez's book has dropped to 17.16 pre-release which is the same price as Ashton's how many months after it was released.

CSI - A Beautiful LIfe by Robyn Walensky (sp) discussing inside the courtroom, the evidence, the investigation etc., is holding at $19.something which is pretty good for a book that's been out almost a year.

By the way, when I was going to sleep and random thoughts were wandering through my brain - I was kind of laughing to myself. I think Jose Baez's choice of title for this "book" is really an unfortunate one. Cause most of us are nodding and saying - verdict or not - you're right - she is still and always will be Presumed Guilty.....

I don't recall where I saw it, but it was part of this latest book discussion-
he said "The Public thought I was an idiot, but I let it roll off my back".
DUH - the public was right....:floorlaugh:

Omg..he dedicated the book to the women in his life?.his mother, daughter, sisters...And. ....the Jurors! God i cant stand that man... He is so clueless!

Late again sigh!

To the women in his life?
What about the wife?
Andddd the jury had men on it too.

His stupidity is as big as his arrogance. What an Idiot!

I don't get Jose's angle here. In legal circles, he may have been admired for getting his client off, even though he used underhanded means. However, he still won. Why doesn't he just live off of this? I mean, getting off an obviously guilty client got him some cred.

Why, then, is he diving into her world of lies? It is making him look ridiculous and losing any cool lawyer finesse he may have gained.

Also, notice the irony on calling the cops "disgusting and cruel?" Could Caylee have died in anymore of a disgusting, cruel and heinous way? And could the coverup been anymore disgusting and cruel by her family and now her lawyers?

Now KC's "consciousness of guilt" is seeping onto Jose. He better watch it. He oughta go home to his wife and baby and move on. Fame and fortune from dishonest gain are cruel Slave-masters.

Discussing when Casey learned about the remains being found on Suburban Drive while in the medical unit:

Wait a minute! Casey knew Caylee had drowned! She already knew she was dead. All that was known was that Kronk had found her!

More at link...

Exactly!!! I have a bad memory but MG does he NOT remember what the first words out of his mouth was during opening statements?
I'll tell you why he contradicts himself at every turn. It's because he KNOWS that so and so murdered her daughter CAYLEE.

O Boy My Blood Is Boiling.

I hope he has a strong back cause that thought is going to keep coming and rolling off his back for years to come by the looks of it. :woohoo:

I have to be careful - because I'm so mad about these releases so far that swear words are just at the tips of my fingers and I don't want to accidently type a few choice ones by mistake while I'm mid rant....:maddening:

He's thinking he deserves to make the big bucks out of all this "fame and where's the fortune?"

He's still having fun & games with Casey. It seems that he's taunting her with the things he says about her and her parents. He's having fun being his nasty immature self, as usual, it obvious. So far, the bits & pieces that are being released to the public is junk. Nothing solid or believable. The part about her being tortured having to watch the discovery of a child's body in the swamp on the television is laughable. Tortured? Casey? He's kidding right! Did he forget that Casey dumped her body there? Her torture was of her own doing. I guess that it must have been torture for her knowing that the gig was up and it was obvious without her reaction who did it. She knew where Caylee was all along. Lets talk about the torture that she put everyone else through while searching for a live Caylee when Casey knew that she was dead. Like that video when she said, I can feel that she's close. I bet she could.

Unbelievable - he still cannot connect two dots he's written on a piece of pager! :banghead: The question for me is"Is this when Baez knew for sure that FCA had killed Caylee?"

I can't wait until Vinnie or someone like him gets him on a talk show!

Thanks. That made me laugh and brought my blood down to a simmer.

I would love to see Vinnie rip him a new one and then re-rip him another one.

Great post!

I would think Baez wouldnt be so hated if he just alluded to the fact that he did whatever he had to do to get his client off...did his job as a defense attorney. Surely he cant be thinking he is going to convince anyone that the felon is completly innocent at this point.

Also... Look at Oj's attornies..arent they all deceased now? I believe defending the guilty and evil has got to really get to you and be a tremendous stress... And her Defense has got to know how evil she is... It has to be getting to them whether
they admit it openly or not.

Holding all that in or pretending otherwise will not be good for their physical and mental health.... Ive always wondered if that is why Oj's defense team all ended up sick.

As if I didn't have animosity toward JB and his antics before, it dawns on me now that he is saying these things about fca having mental issues and she's not playing with a full deck. What is he doing then? Seems to me, he is taking an opportunity and using her to his advantage. If he was trying to help her with her great escape, why didn't he help her and convince her to go into lockdown treatment? Instead, he treats her like a pal, taking her with him to NY and trying to make deals on her behalf? He wasn't doing it for free and I don't think he was doing this for her either.

If FCA enjoyed being in jail so much why do we keep hearing endless whining from CM about how she still isn't free? Why did she look so thrilled and triumphant when she was released? Why did she shriek from jail that her whole life had been taken away from her and hint that the reward money for finding Caylee should be spent on bailing her out?

No one should buy this book, it's just more streaming carp from someone who still can't get his stories straight. I have read 'Helter Skelter' and this, friends, is no 'Helter Skelter'.

Same here miss plum. Vincent Bugliosi, he ain't and never will be.

One word - MONEY....
He's thinking he deserves to make the big bucks out of all this "fame and where's the fortune?"

I agree that he wants money. But then why didn't he parlay his win into building up his career as a bonafide lawyer and earn money the old fashioned way, by reputation as a lawyer who can get his clients off? He is looking for easy money from the devil. I bet his wife would prefer him to be a reputable lawyer. He needs to divest himself from this toxic girl pronto. He could have been respected. Now that is gone. He chose the fame/fortune 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Dumb.

I wonder how long it will take for FCA or CA & GA to come out of the wood work to dispute <modsnip> ?

I can't wait until she is arrested again on some stupid theft charge, because her "Boys" ain't bringing home the bacon like they planned.

SOOO well said. I'll be reading this post about 10 more times before I go to bed tonight. :rocker:

When I was a very little girl, TV's were big wooden boxes with tiny, rounded screens, and if you were lucky, you could dial in a station to catch the kids programs in the morning. There was a puppet show, Beany and Cecil (the seasick sea serpent). Very crude by modern standards and nowhere as cute as the much later cartoon version.

I only watched the program once. It scared the bejabbers out of me. Just hearing the theme song would make me queasy.

I have to say it, just seeing JB on a tv screen makes me feel the exact same way.

Thank goodness there is this thread, where I can read snippets from the book and pick them apart or just be sickened by the content. Who needs to read the book? We get the best parts for free and don't have to read the rest of the drivel.

I would imagine I'll do a lot of channel flipping the minute his name is mentioned...

Ummm....Pattymarie? :what: Remember? We are talking about Baez here - Mr. come lately don't do a stick of work if he can help it Baez!!

I wonder how long it will take for FCA or CA & GA to come out of the wood work to dispute Bozo ?

They might come out next year with a rebuttal, but I don't think they'd do anything for free.

Why do I get the feeling this circus will be never ending?:banghead:
