Here is the link I like to look at to see how the book is doing, scroll down to the bottom and the bar graph, you can check how many books sold per day, week, etc., I checked for the week,

if you hold your cursor over the colored bar for each day, you can see the actual number (but it does declare on there somewhere some of the #'s are estimates only, so take with a grain of salt),

For example for this week (this is Amazon only, which I think is more popular than Barnes&Noble, plus mortar/brick stores),

Monday = 45 + 2 + 21 = 68 books
Tuesday = 35 + 0 + 8 = 43 books
Wednesday = 25 + 0 + 8 = 33 books
Today = 26 + 1 + 20 = 47 books

you can also change the pulldown to Sales Rank if you wish, plus some other choices!

I expect to see a huge drop in sales next week, I saw I think on Hal's that JB will be on Geraldo on Sunday, hopefully this book tour will then be at an end!! I would LOVE to know the total book sales for everywhere to date.......

IMO, MOO, etc.

Thanks for the link! Link on that page.....

led me to this page....

Which led me to this page....

http://www.benbellabooks.com/media/Entrepreneurial-Deal.pdf

A Entrepreneurial Deal works as follows. The author receives half of the first $100K in Gross Profits and two-thirds of all additional Gross Profits. Gross Profits are total revenues less distribution costs, printing costs, and co-op fees. In essence, Gross Profits are the marginal profits on sales of the book, and don’t include any prepress costs, marketing costs, overhead, etc.

Which I believe probably had Baez thinking he hit the lottery...AND could actually get someone to agree to publish his book...

How much better is this deal than typical royalties?

The short answer is much better, if the book is successful. Here is one scenario:
50,000 hardcover trade sales
25,000 hardcover direct sales
25,000 hardcover special sales
100,000 paperback trade sales
Major Platform Deal Royalties: $1,003,450
Typical Royalties: $406,894

But don't think he is gonna make those sales!!!

See I remember LDB flipping the pages with the cheques as well, but not at the sidebar but at the Prosecution table...
It may have been 2 separate occasions the one at Sidebar and Baez flapping his mouth and opened it wide enough to allow the Prosecution to walk through with the prior bad acts..but LDB didn't...

Was it mentioned in Ashton's book? anyone remember?

LG...I updated the post you replied to...I found the Sidebar transcript where they were talking about it...

I remember that motion - it was so beautiful. But in the end they couldn't introduce the info unless Baez opened the door - right?
Yes, I thought LDB (after giving it some thought) carried the file up the sidebar as some kind of a weapon, but had been flipping through them)

I have to admit that I'm a serial lurker on WS since this trial began. Everyone's advocacy for victims make you all heros-- thank you for all you do.

My twin girls are the exact same age as Caylee at her death and I think about that little angel all the time. What disturbs me the most is that no one on the defense/Anthony clan seem to have any feelings that at the root of this is a dead little girl.

When it's late at night, the lights are low and thoughts are the only think heard, I wonder if these folks finally tell the truth, only if it's in their own minds.

I guess the circles go around for ALL of us, not just a few......... just depends on each persons point of view, and with the all of the lying in the Anthony family that went on, who is to say whose thoughts and ideas are absolutely right, correct and true?

I doubt we will ever know what really happened due to all of the lying but I don't think any one of us has the monopoly on whose argument is a circle or whose is a square or whose is a straight line or a triangle. Anyone who thinks they know moreso than anyone else is kidding themselves.

IMO, MOO, etc.

Definitely agree with your entire post NavySubMom. I'm all talked out on that one but I do understand that for some - it's a topic that still needs to be talked about. And good for them for doing it.

It is on Geraldo's FB page where it states JB will be his guest on this coming Sunday, saw it on another FB page I frequent, and since I can't paste the actual text from his FB page, it says something along the lines of ALL IN CAPS breaking news and states that this Sunday's guest will be attorney Jose Baez who is the author of the book he recently wrote and it says that he will discuss the stories behind the famous Casey Anthony trial and refute a lot of rumors. Questions are welcome apparently on this FB page, and so far I see 570 odd posts, I didn't read them but I can guess what they all mostly say!! We'll see if any get deleted, as is the case of many of these TV pesonalities, and i am sure Geraldo himself never even looks at this page, his staff does, as I assume is the case for most of these TV personality facebook pages!

IMO, MOO, etc.

This surprises me because it didn't sound like Baez's coauthor, Golenbock, felt Geraldo was supporting them:

"This was a case ensuring every sensational media outlet high ratings. Nancy Grace — the Rush Limbaugh of crime, for whom every defendant is guilty no matter what the verdict — led the way. But she had plenty of company in the anti-Casey vendetta: Greta Van Susteren, Nancy lite; Geraldo Rivera, who once was a great investigative reporter but who has become a shill for the right wing; Fox and Friends, the weirdest TV show in the history of television. . ."

Didn't GA lay a sidewalk of cement in his back/side yard RIGHT WHILE the search for a "live" Caylee was going on, during early July or something? I always found that odd........ what was so urgent to do that cement project right at that time???? More bizarre behavior to add to the Anthony pile of strangeness.

IMO, MOO, etc.

Yes that was strange IMO, but what was stranger was the lime he liked to spread around that lawn.

Welcome tandt, and what an excellent post!

Of course they all know the truth and while they deny it in public they cannot deny it in their own minds. I do, however, feel that they all justify the outcome in their own minds. I mean, we have a child killer who never takes responsibility for anything she does and even though she is aware of what she did to her little girl, she feels no guilt and no remorse.

Defense attorneys are a different story, IMO. It is their job to defend an accused person in court. I cannot fault a defense attorney for doing their job, but in most cases when a guilty person is set free, the victory is bittersweet for the attorney. Sweet because they did their job as they have taken an oath to do, but bitter because they do not feel good about a killer walking free. In most such cases, the defense attorney walks away from their client once the job is done.

The defense attorneys in this case are a disgrace to the profession, IMO. Victory in court is one thing; cavorting after the fact with the person that they know (if they are honest with themselves) is a killer is quite another.

It makes you wonder how they are able to sleep at night.

Sorry if this has been answered already. Just peeking in for a moment.

GA and CA had a week of vacation and they did yard work, etc. which included laying pavers for a patio. IIRC. Not cement. Pavers (brick like thingys)

George was proud of the fact he did the cement walkway by himself. I think it was about fourteen bags of concrete. I can't remember if it was from Lowes or Home Depo that he bought then from. And I'm trying to remember if pavers were taken up so he could pour the concrete.

Was Amy ever asked if Casey returned her duct tape? Last I remember Casey mentioned in a text? that she'd get it back to her. I wonder if Amy bought a Henkel brand of duct tape?

The Very First Lawyer was a female who was with her during her FIRST court appearance...this is before she hired Baez...could have been a Public Defender..

In 2008 Baez brought on board a lawyer friend from Miami, John Walsh?, to get her $500,00 bail reduced..he was around for 2-3 months, August to October 2008 I think. Soon after T Lennamon joined in order to get the DP off the table.

YA'LL forgot Baez's sidekick...Michelle Medina

In regards to the Civil Case..there was a female civil attorney in between Kasen and Greene..don't remember her name...

Wasn't there a Angel?

bbm
I agree.
Her phone AND computer activity

And I don't know WHY LDB played nice and didn't introduce OCA previous bad behaviour when she was handed the opportunity by the Defense.
The stealing...the Felony Check Fraud .....LDB should have gone for the jugular , Baez did
Baez may have opened the door, but IMHO not far enough...in many instances, actually (it helped that he was warned by JP). But, they were prior bad acts and as such, inadmissable. (IIRC :))

Jose Baez Shopping Casey Anthony Interview to Networks
July 22nd, 2011 3:07 PM by Free Britney

"Casey Anthony's lawyer Jose Baez is reportedly at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City, holding meetings with all of the major TV networks."

Oh My, I clearly remembered reading JB was in NY shopping the felon around, I clearly remember he was seen in a bar with Mark Geragos, I also thought I remembered he met with Matt Lauer and wanted to throw in a condition of an NBC interview that JB would be made an NBC Legal Analyst. I thought some of this was right after the verdict (and it probably was, so did he go back a few weeks later?), but this article says on July 22, he was reportedly at the Mandarin Hotel in NY, was he with FCA????

So this article is dated July 22, wasn't FCA released July 17th? from FL, so from what I'm reading people are saying is in the book (I haven't read it) taking into account the Shake 'N Steak meal and the rooftop stop with Baez the night she was released, then I read they drove to NY, so did they leave that night, or the next day? Did they do that drive with one/some hotel stops, you know, the married Baez with a brand new baby and the newly released felon, my impression from what I am seeing others report in the book is that it is not stated that HE drove with her to NY (can anyone look that up, I thought it was SOMEONE ELSE who accompanied her), so dod JB drive FCA to NY? I wonder...... so if they stopped 1 night on the way, say they arrived in NY the 19th or the 20th? or even the 18th, depending if they drove straight through. Did JB give the impression in his book that SOMEONE ELSE was in NY with FCA, not him???

So then taking into account this article, which I do remember reading last year, was JB with FCA in NY hoping to get that $1M or more interview lined up RIGHT THEN?? with HER in attendance? (but that little matter of the upcoming probation had to be figured out.) Since FCA just was released from jail, her spending a week or more in NY is not an absurd idea, as Babs Walters said, she was walking around that City "right under everyone's noses"? You may have even MET with her Ms. Walters????

So was JB showing FCA "around the town", wonder if FCA was ALSO staying at the Mandarin Hotel....... ????? this is hilarious to me. Do I have my dates right here???

Oh what a difference a year makes!!

IMO, MOO, etc.

During the trial, Baez just about opened the door for all of this to come in. IIRC, that sidebar made Baez change his line of questioning to Cindy. In retrospect, the prosecution really wanted to slam it at her, but were probably told to rein it in. I know that Perry didn't want a mistrial for so many reasons... mainly financial.

I recall at one time, Casey was hoping for a mistrial as a type of "victory"!

Absolutely! I would think, any book written from; a/or many WS Sleuth(s) would have pictures of Caylee. She is the reason we are here fighting for her justice.

If or when, a book is written, I would hope all proceeds would go for the fight for justice for The Real Victims.

I've had these same thoughts for a long time. I always envisioned a "coffee table" type book with only photos of baby Caylee, with proceeds to go to Tim Miller. I agree, baby Caylee is the only reason sooo many if not all of us are staying here, not giving up.

Everything in your post sounds about right to me. What I wonder.....who (if anyone) chaperoned the felon and her attorney, after that "hot bod" had been locked up for 3 years with no male contact. IYKWIM?

ewwww

Wow! He sold a whopping 39 books yesterday! America is smarter than I thought....:floorlaugh:

radio interview with JB..
This lady did ask some differant questions..
http://www.wjrwam.com/FlashPlayer/default.asp?SPID=34238&ID=2492295

Well that was interesting. Did JB really teach a class at Harvard???? I thought CA went to Universal to track down FCA so she could see baby Caylee, I don't remember her going there because Juliette Lewis was going to speak at a fund raiser??? I'm seriously thinking of buying this book, or at least going to B&N and reading it. It seems like every time JB speaks there are new lies. I guess I just want to read the lies and compare them to the truth. I don't know, how much is this book? Maybe I should just spend the money on fabric LOL

I just had a thought, I wonder if JB quit being FCA's attorney because he was tried of her acting like a two year old and not because he was tired of the media calling him while he "was teaching at Harvard"

Don't become one of the 39! :what: B&N has a nice reading area. I'm sure with your ability to absorb information you could have his "thick" book read in an hour!
