She's trending again...people on twitter are outraged about this Troy Davis and why hes being executed while she goes free. I wonder if she's aware of it.

BBM: Strawberry, what is "trending" ? I am "behind the times" :floorlaugh: and not familiar with twitter.

THANKS !

Did they really have to put her ugly mug on the cover of People Magazine? Geez, what is wrong with our society! I'm sure her ego has inflated seeing that! I hope she's learning Iranian. Maybe we can swap her for those two innocent guys that have been held over there for 2 years for hiking in the wrong area. In lieu of the million dollar bail they want to release them. FCA would look good in a Berka
Thank goodness they're out.

Today Troy Davis will be executed while Casey Anthony is somewhere tanning.
I don't know enough about his case, but just hearing there were jurors who came out and said they no longer believed he was guilty saddens me. Will the Pinellas 12 one day say they were wrong in their verdict? I think so.
It's done...execution carried out.

Yeah, I don't know about his case except what I've read today which was not much. Just that 7 out of 9 witnesses rescinded. I don't know enough to have an opinion...except it's sad either way...wasted life.

Good luck !! :woohoo:

Thank you! He thinks he can intimidate...but he underestimates me. I don't go to trial unless I can win, It's the faith I have in my counsel that determines whether I settle or try. I am still assessing that aspect. :::heavy sigh:::: I released it to the universe today ...especially after I second guessed the release of a juror. But you know what? When has 75-90% of Americans ever agreed on anything? They did agree that FCA got away with murder, and that the jury was inept at best. So I have high hopes that this jury will NOT want to be like the KC fiasco. So please, focus on a miracle for me...because I do need common sense to prevail. I just wish this jurisdiction allowed us to bifurcate the issue of negligence prior to damages. I loathe having to pay for....and bore the jury with damage testimony, when they have already decided that there was no liability. I love some jurisictions.....others...not so much!

Haven't been on this page in a while and saw something on TV that I wanted to post but didn't know where I could put it....then....Lo & Behold I come here and find this new thread....just the place...Thanks! :woohoo:

I was watching the Harry's Law on NBC tonight.
Man accused of killing his wife talking to his defense lawyers and mentions to them:
(not probably exact wording but close)

"Well killers do get off, look at OJ and Casey Anthony."

Could hardly believe it. Looks like the script writers might have followed some of this case; the accused also had a journal they wanted to keep out of the trial, talked of confusing the jury with too much info and such. Judge even reminded me of Strickland in looks and his last name actually ended with "land". Storyline continues next week.

Nancy is outraged because she is out on bail..and people are starting to say the post partum word. Nancy says nonsense - it is a double murder that was pre-meditated because of the nine month long conspiracy to hide her pregnancy.

snipped.

"postpartum" my dear little white @ss. that's caused by hormone issues and they do not start immediately. sure there is a rush of things like progesterone (the "love" hormone) to make you bond and clearly she didnt get THAT rush. this is flat out premeditated murder and I too am enraged she is out on bail. there better be charges and those charges better be murder in the first degree. I am SICK TO DEATH of mothers who kill babies immediately getting the get out of jail free card. as if a VERY late term do-it-yourself abortion is somehow acceptable. bull.

forgive any typos, I didnt sleep well and woke to news of troy davis execution, I should be forgiven any typos!

it amuses me that she will forever be the byword for any failure of the US justice system just like OJ. same for the jurors. at least they're all slapped with that ugly tag for the rest of their lives & beyond.

eta: can you imagine a jury settling in for deliberations in the year 2075, a couple wanna just go home, and two or more of the others gasp in horror and say "you dont want to be like the CASEY ANTHONY JURY, do you??" and they all sit down, shut up, and really deliberate? while asking any questions if they DONT UNDERSTAND THE LAW or the JURY INSTRUCTIONS?

that's my only relief in this travesty, that for a very long time to come jurors will be very careful to do their best to make no idiotic mistakes. this could prevent this sort of injustice for many other cases.

The A's must be very proud that their daughters name was mentioned on a prime time show and associated with OJ. Just kidding.
My reaction would be shame and horrified. Well I guess they will have to get use to it since this is pretty much the way Ms Anthonys name will be portrayed. Ms Anthony said she would be famous one day. Well here you go KC. Enjoy it any way you can.

Cheer up.....misinformation that it was jurors who now claim innocence is another example of the media picking up someone else's misinformation and reporting it as fact...which was as prevalent in recent days concerning Troy Davis case as during the Caylee trial.

TD defense CLAIMED that 7 witnesses were willing to recant their testimony that HELPED convict Troy 20 years ago....but did not come out with this claim until about 6 months.

Case is local to me...is 20 years in the making....Georgia got the right man. PLENTY of forensic, ballistic evidence...

I can stop thinking about the As, but can't stop thinking about Caylee.

Yes, I agree...that's why I was specific in mentioning only the dysfunctional trio, LOL.

Just like JonBenet, I hate the thought that Caylee didn't get legal justice here on earth for the murderer. I hate that thought. It's just wrong.

Watching the news last night I came across an interview with the victims mother (who still believes they got the right guy) and she said something pretty interesting (and probably true).

She said the witnesses who recanted their testimony had 16 years to do it and yet they were silent all this time. She said she understood why the protesters were out there but in her mind, a majority of them don't know anything about TD or her son.

Until jurors are actually paid a salary for this and compensated for time away from home and any stress it puts on them to hurry and get home I dont think much will change.
Whether people are Pinellas people or not, people are people everywhere. It came out after the OJtrial. Its not comfortable to be sequestered and maybe they should reconsider this. I dont think it was necessary to bring in outside jurors for her to get a fair trial. JMO

I agree, as long as our justice system requires that a verdict gets handed down by a group of 12 strangers, you will never have a way to guarantee a verdict one way or the other. 100 years from now assuming our justice system stays the same, you will still have innocent people put in jail and guilty people set free. Everyone said the same exact thing when the OJ trial happened (hopefully juries in the future will realize the error of letting a guilty person free) and yet here we are.

I believe that our system is the best system available for allowing a person (guilty or innocent) to get a fair trial. Yes, some guilty walk free, and some innocents are jailed, but I truly believe the vast majority of verdicts are correct. The high profile cases are only a tiny percentage of the cases tried daily throughout our great country. The high profile cases that result in a not guilty verdict are a very tiny percentage of all cases.

Does our justice system need work? Yes. Our justice system will always need work. The industrial revolution caused change in child labor laws. Civil rights laws changed drastically in the mid 50's through late 60's. Our justice system is a work in progress and always will be as long as our country continues to exist as it has since the days of George Washington.

There will always be debate over whether or not a sequestered jury is a good idea. Until someone comes up with a better idea, we will continue seeing COV's and sequestered juries.

I think juries do realize the error of letting a guilty person go free, just as the error that would exist in placing an innocent person in jail. The burden must lie with the prosecution, and it is a heavy burden this burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. I think 99.99 percent of all juries, try to reach the correct verdict, based on the evidence and the law, even the verdicts that are unpopular.

As always, my entire post is my opinion only.
