BBM>> Hm, I think I called it the wrong thing. Sorry. Not a lock. It is a childproofing device for the doorknob.

Not sure whose bedrooms were whose before Lee moved out; was the 'computer room' formerly Lee's bedroom at some point? Was it explained in their depos? Trial testimony? It's been so long. Can't recall, but you may be right.

However, the childproof device I was referring to is not really a lock, so 'my bad' for using the wrong term. It's a plastic cover, encasing a doorknob, to prevent toddlers and children being able to open the door with their child-sized hands. The one on Caylee's bedroom door was on the inside of her room, FWIW. Could be there for innocent reasons; I thought it was possibly noteworthy.

Like the one at this link (Target):

Interesting thanks - I couldn't find an explanation for what it actually does but to me it looks like it prevents the door from being accidently locked from the inside doesn't it?:waitasec:

Does anyone remember how many bedrooms the Anthony house has? For some reason I thought it had three - the Anthony's, FCA and Caylee. Are there four including a computer room or is that now some kinid of an alcove since Caylee was born?

Yes, it was Cindy, maybe her interview with Greta? I remember it well.
I thought it was bizarre and compulsive. From what we have seen Caylee spent most of her time indoors. How dirty can you get inside ?

Doesn't Florida have good weather most of the time? Maybe in the garden or in the playhouse? And for me- anything that CA said in that rambling FBI interview can pretty much be discounted...because it was CA...:moo:

Even if she were playing in her sandbox or play house all day she still would not need 5-6 baths a day. Wash her hands, face when she comes in to eat, and knees if needed. Then a bath at bedtime. That's sufficient. I'm surprised that child had any immunity to infection, she was kept much too clean.
How did she ever manage to play with all that bathing going on?
Bizarre woman.

I don't know. I don't live in Orlando, but I went to college an hour and a half north at UF. It thunderstormed almost every single day during the summer. It would clear up, but it rained A LOT!

Florida is wicked hot, buggy and muggy in the summer, but here in north central Florida it can get quite cold in the winter...we've even had a little snow from time to time.

But growing up a barefoot beach brat (on Southwest Florida's Gulf Coast), I spent a lot of time outdoors and whatever dirt, sand and grime I picked up could be easily hosed off outside. One real inside bath a day is plenty for even the scurviest kid!

These people are just whack. They definitely should not breed. Ever again.

If I may add my 2 cents.
I guess I don't know why folks take what CA say literally. Bath to her could mean a wash cloth wipe down. I mean think about pizza versus decomp. Ya know!

I agree in terms of CA and her honesty on most topics, however, I take her at her word on this topic because she was so obsessive compulsive in her tidiness.

Me too. She loved to brag about things like that too. She didn't realize that mothers everywhere would say Whaaaat? It's akin to ritual handwashing IMO.

CA worked, left for work, 5 days a week prior to Caylee getting out of bed and sometimes did not return home until 7pm so how were they able to bath Caylee 5 times a day? What we know about the comings and goings (and we all know their routines now through the court records) makes her statement sound a little boastful at best. I could see a bath in the morning, one before bed and maybe on the weekend when CA had Caylee there might be one when she'd get out of the pool. Even with Caylee in diapers I doubt KC bathed Caylee while CA was not around. While CA was very tidy I don't think KC was and my guess is CA took KC's word that Caylee was bathed often. KC is still living off of others and will continue to do so as long as she is able. jmo

BBM>> As in this snip from my post you quoted:

"It's a plastic cover, encasing a doorknob, to prevent toddlers and children being able to open the door with their child-sized hands. "

So no, it has nothing to do with the lock on the doorknob.

Here is a video of a little boy versus a doorknob cover. He's trying for all he's worth to get into his mommy's (unlocked) bedroom door.

Spoiler: The doorknob cover wins.

Hope that helps.

BTW my concern, spelled out, was that CA said Caylee slept with FCA in FCA's room every night since she was born.

I can't see any good reason to put a doorknob cover INSIDE a child's room, unless it is to protect a child from leaving the bedroom at night when the adults are asleep. Which wouldn't apply in Caylee's case, since she allegedly slept with FCA every night. That was the point. I think. LOL

Oh, and yes, it's a four-bedroom home. As of June 2008, it was (1) Parents bdrm, (2) FCA's bdrm, (3) Caylee's bdrm, (4) 'computer room'.

I think the doorknob thing. Is to keep the child safe, I had one when John was climbing out of the crib. One day he woke me telling me my coffees burning.( at 5 am) no honey my coffee isn't burning, come on into my bed for a while. No mommy it's burning. Well I got up, and guess what? My coffee was burning, and filling the apartment with smoke.
I had company the night before, made instatnt coffee and used my antique teapot to boil the water. I left the jar of coffee, sugar bowl on the table. The teakettle was a couple of inches of water in it, and my angel dumped all the coffee and all the sugar in the pot and turned it on to make my coffee for me. After that, I put the thing on the inside of his room. It was safe for him in there. He would knock on the door when he wanted me.

BUT didn't KC sleep with Caylee?
KC just didn't want to get her lazy butt out of bed when Caylee got up.:banghead:

Ahhh & the afternoon naps. Just shut the door & voila - locked in for hours. No worries about the little snothead & now I can get on with my texting.

Being smart in my last post. Was the smart ans. she gave everybody when I read this stuff yrs. ago. I hope the new courtroom tremors do us some good? Hair is turning white!!!!! Happy holidays to you all.

When my son was small if he got too messy, I'd tell him he needed a "bird bath." That meant I would stand him up in the kitchen sink and give him a quick wash off.

That's the one I don't really have trouble with - she wasn't toilet trained so she'd have her morning and evening bath, then maybe one or two after being in the pool, and another one if she'd had a messy accident. Not sure CA meant full bubble bath soaker type baths?:waitasec:

Also wanted to add - I do understand why Caylee didn't have any play friends - i think FCA considered herself a young woman on the prowl, so there would have been no reason for her to hang around with other young mothers who were married with children. And on the other hand, what young mother with a young husband would want her? Plus she used Caylee with her friends as a cute accessory and to make herself special - IMO.

And the paternity? Don't think FCA knew and CA was too ashamed of that fact to actually admit it outloud in public - so she went along with the "dead" fiance.

BBM - I seriously wonder how many guys that actually slept with KC wondered if Caylee was theirs when all this went down and didn't do anything about it. I'm sure many of them (not the guys we knew about) probably wondered but never came forward to have their DNA tested:furious:...at that point if one did match would he be able to sue for wrongful death...i mean even though she drowned:waitasec:

The statute of limitations has passed if I'm not mistaken.

My mom used to do that when my son was little. And one time, when he was about 2 and a half, and she was rinsing him off in the kitchen sink, he said ." I AM NOT DISHES, NANA, ..." Cracked us up and she started using the bathtub instead. LOL
