If I am remembering correctly, didn't they find GA in a hotel with pizza and beer and maybe it was asprin(or some over the counter drug like asprin)
And wasn't it Cindy who called the police to look for him?

It was either the attorney or her "rock" Dominic who actually called about George from Cindy's house, if I'm not mistaken. That whole thing seemed so contrived to me. But I'm sure George was feeling conflicted and tortured. He's the only one that ever showed genuine concern/love for little Caylee, imho.

Hmm. Interesting. There was an interview George & Cindy did, maybe for GMA? I forget, where Cindy had to make George's suicide attempt all about her. I remember her saying something like nobody knows she was suicidal too, and Casey talked her out of it. I'll have to dig up that old interview and watch their body language.

edited to add, is this the interview? watching it now

This is true. I have gone back and reread some articles and they actually say he took some prescriptions drugs from the home and some pictures wit him. I don't know if actually ingested any drugs. Anyone know? I believe he was admitted for a few days to a facility/hospital of some sort.

Oh well, nothing really in that interview, except Cindy taking the spotlight away from George. It does seem like she was trying to introduce the suicide subject a couple of times though.

I'm sorry to say it, but somebody has to, the reason this was not found by the LE "experts" is they were not thorough in what they were doing. It looks to be as simple as that.

In this interview:
http://forensicsource.blogspot.com/2011/08/exclusive-interview-with-sandra-osborne.html

Sandra Osborne describes what she did and did not do in examining the hard drive on the particular computer in question. She did NOT know what she was doing in trying to examine the Firefox data - she talks about it in the interview. She had to have her boss retrieve the Firefox data.

As AZlawyer wrote in a previous post on this thread, she was "close, so close". But after reading this article,IMHO she had neither sufficient education or experience, at least at that time, to conduct a thorough forensic evaluation of that hard drive.

The big question I would have is why was her work on a case of this magnitude not peer reviewed? By an outside expert, of course.

If any good comes out of all this, it should be that LE Agencies need to hire and pay qualified IT educated professionals to do this type of work. Sending someone out to a 72 hour class to earn a "certificate" does not a "forensic computer expert" make!

Sorry if this post sounds snippy, but honestly, all I can say is read the interview and you will see how this happened. Obviously Baez's computer people didn't have a problem with the data and neither did JWG.
Here is an article posted by the computer expert who found the data for the defense:
"Probably the most disturbing thing I saw was Sandra Cawn-Osborne's response; "I wasn't told to search for suffocation." One thing I will say to that is that she was not alone in the analysis of the computer forensics, she had help from her supervisor, who was a teacher in the Digital Forensics Master's program at the University of Central Florida. Ponder that one."

He doesn't think much of Nancy Grace.

BBM. Maybe a little snippy :).

"I wasn't told to search for suffocation" is something I bet she wishes she hadn't said.....it may end up costing her her job.

To this day, George's suicide attempt seems very bizarre to me.

Yes, he loved Caylee but how many grandparents commit suicide over the loss of their grandchild??

Yes, I know it is different when your daughter is the murderer, but still, how many grandparents commit suicide over their grandchild?????

I think there is another reason.

I watched until CA kissed GA, I couldn't stand listening to her any more. She still makes me sick. So baby Caylee's one goal in her way too short life was make CA and GA happy? Seems a little backwards to me. I would think it would be their goal to make baby Caylee happy.

Oh interesting. I've always thought GA suicide attempt was questionable. I don't believe he harmed baby Caylee though. What other reason are you thinking?

Bumping! I just love the look on Yuri's face: "Srsly??" lol

Found this one during the trial :floorlaugh:

But as for George's so-called suicide attempt, I watched the whole circus unfold since I get my local news out of Orlando, and when they finally flushed George out of that motel room, he walked out...he wasn't carried out on a stretcher or anything. I remember turning to my husband and saying, "This is so bogus!" And dollars to doughnuts, Cindy was behind it. Spin spin spin. Oh yes Cindy, you are the victim here. NOT.

So, are the Anthonys genuine performers in a poorly scripted play?

Or are their lives really so miserably shallow that they are identical to a poorly written play?

In either case, it suggests that some really poor choices were made long before it all culminated in this miserable abyss.

he's a weak person IMO

(not saying suicidal people are inherently weak! just saying what I've seen of george anthony, he couldnt take what happened, he could barely handle life before it and really wonder how he's doing these days)

I don't know Grammie. I really don't.

I do not think he harmed Caylee either. I never did!!!!

To me, it would seem more logical that his attempt had to do with knowing his daughter did this and not wanting to be around to see how it ended up affecting his wife and son.

All pure speculation.....

Now that is a thought! I never really thought about Cindy being in on it but it would not suprise me. Anything to take the heat off of Casey. :furious:

.

Me too. He was the best witness! I love that quizzical look, like "man, what kind of an idiot are you???" look.

Hilarious!!!!

Yummy Yuri. I still like the man. :fence:

There's a part of me that has always thought his suicide attempt was not real. I can't remember all the details but I do remember thinking at the time it just didn't seem true. I go along with CA being in charge of it. I believe both CA and GA believed FCA did this to baby Caylee. I believe the people who truely know this case do not believe GA harmed baby Caylee.

:what:

The idea bolded above sounds pretty farfetched -- that GA's suicide attempt was staged at the urging of FCA's defense in order to provide a cover for this damning search of FCA's on the day Caylee died, in the event it came out at trial.

However, many bizarre twists and turns have been disclosed throughout this case. If anyone is interested in tossing around atthelake's theory, I will offer without commentary that the dates can be seen to line up:

Dec 11 2008 = Caylee's remains found.

Dec ?? 2008 = Word gets out that duct tape covered the face of the skull.

Dec 19 2008 = Remains officially id'd as Caylee's.

Jan ?? 2009 = JB learns of "foolproof suffocation" searches.

When I located these searches on the computer in January of 2009, I brought them to Jose's attention so he would be aware of them. -- Larry Daniel
Jan ?? 2009 = JB allegedly learns from FCA 'what happened to Caylee.'

Jan 22 2009 = GA is 'missing,' found overnight w/suicide note.

Feb 16-21 = AAFS Conf in Denver, JB gets actual report re searches.

I gave Jose anlaysis[sic, LOL] of the searches in February of 2009 at the AAFS conference in Denver, CO. -- Larry Daniel

 You never know...
(and please correct me if I've gotten any dates wrong)

And when was JB hospitalized with that stomach problem? :waitasec:
