also in Savio's autopsy...regarding injury to the back of her right hand....the autopsy states it was a "patterned" injury. I could picture DP standing on that hand and the sole of his shoe leaving a pattern.

info on patterned injuries --

patterned injuries:
http://verbaljudo.tripod.com/forensicnursing/id16.html

analysis of patterned injuries:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12711193

I wonder if they ever studied in depth on that pattern??

It still boggles my mind that the initial coroner's jury determined her death to be accidental with these weird injuries present, and nothing surrounding the tub that could be the cause of the injuries.

Dr. Baden testified at length about the pattern of her injuries and concluded they resulted from a struggle, and subsequent homicide.

Some of my grandchildren have a rare blood disorder where they bruise easily. I have NEVER seen that many bruises on them. It is usually one or two but NEVER 13 in all sorts of different areas of their bodies. The bruises on Kathy were not normal everyday bruising or from one fall in a tub full of water. jmo

Exactly. The most obvious sign that this wasn't an accident is the amount of bruising and other injuries to her body which would not have resulted from a fall in that bathtub! Aside from the bruising, there is no evidence of her striking her head on anything in the tub area to cause the head laceration. While the initial investigation determined this was an accident, one would think there would have been photos of the tub faucet, or something to indicate what she supposedly hit her head on. Still cannot believe so much was overlooked.

If KS had any kind of disorder in which she bruised easily, it would have been known long before her murder. The various pathologists determined some of the bruises as being fresh, within an hour of her death and others within 24 hrs. Bruises would have been seen on her before if she had any kind of disorder.

Nope. This is a classic homicide and the bruises are connected to that.

ITA, LambChop -- If this were a fall down a flight of stairs, one might expect it, or a fall out of a window, or a car crash with the victim not wearing a seat belt or a domestic physical fight or beating, but not a fall in that bathtub. No way. Common sense -- which the judge should tell the jury to use -- rules it out, IMO.

Even if the scene logically appeared to be an accident (which clearly IMO this one would not have), you'd think that the investigators would take pics of what they thought would have caused the lac to her head, as you say, panthera. Didn't they have to explain and to report their findings to someone?

I certainly would have as the lead investigator, if for no other reason than to CMA -- especially considering the victim & her relationship to a LEO. What was it that made those investigators in such a dayam hurry to close the investigation so flippin' soon? One more day would have hurt nothing... <shaking my head for the hundredth time in this case>:waitasec:

I am so uptight and superstitious about this whole final phase of this case/verdict, I'm almost too afraid to agree with y'all by using the thanks button, because I might jinx it.

What does DP really think when he's back in his cell at night with no one else around? What do his oh-so-wonderful attys think will happen? What do his still-living ex-wives think -- what verdict would they like to see in this thing? And his poor sons? How's DP sleeping these days?

Let's all think positive that the fair and just things will happen in that courtroom, folks. Let's join hands and hope for good things and justice.

I just got caught up ... finally, the electricity is back on down here !

Thanks for all the updates !

Now, IF I have this correct, tomorrow will be Closing Arguments ... so will there be a new thread for this week, or a thread for the Closing ?

Please let me know where the Closing updates will be so that I can post in the correct thread. TIA !

Also, I see there is a Thread here at WS for discussion when the "Color Coordinated Jury" goes into deliberations ...

So ...... have we decided on what "color" or what "theme" WS'ers will be wearing when deliberating ? Just kidding !

I just want to tell all you who do the amazing work on this thread, Thank you! Thank you so much.

I have been watching this case since the beginning (Stacy's too) and hope to see Drew in prison the rest of his life.

I don't post often because of a stroke I had last year and the fingers don't want to work. Unfortunately, I have been in the hospital again since Thursday with another stroke and pneumonia.

Keep me posted my friends! I wanna see this man in :jail::jail::jail::jail::jail::jail:

:seeya: Hi Sooner, I hope you are feeling better and wishing you a speedy recovery !

Sending Prayers your way !

This one says:

"
KATHLEEN and STACY --(this was in big bold letters)

Didn't choose the way that they died

As Americans, however, we have the right to choose the way we live.
Unfortunately, the Defendant chose his way.

Many years ago, I chose to help families whose lives had been torn apart by the senseless loss of loved ones.

Thank you for supporting these two families, for joining me in wanting to see that justice is done and for your kind words.

I Refuse To Waver From Who I Am.

Jeff Ruby

Isn't he wonderful?

:rocker:

RBBM: Yes he is ! Sure wish we had more like him !

If the jurors start wearing gray or beige (i.e., no white, no black; neutral; just somewhere in the middle) while deliberations are going on, that would at least point to no opinion one way or the other.... will that be good or bad?? I'm obviously a "pre-worrier," in addition to being horribly superstitious.... Kinda just kidding, but not much!

ETA: And so happy to hear your electricity is back -- oh, it's such a wonderful thing -- I am one who has also endured living in the smack-dab center of a hurricane. Fran, was a Category 3 -- bordering on Cat. 4 -- when she slammed through Raleigh in 1996.

I have been down in your wonderful city during several Jazz Fests and it's a wonderful town. So grand and so fragile.

Good morning, all!

Are we there yet?

Sorry, couldn't resist! Today should be an extremely interesting day. I have been wondering just what all the defense is going to say in their closing.

I am saying a prayer that the prosecution will be guided in their closing for justice. Let them drive it home to the jury.

I am saying a prayer for this jury to very carefully put all of the pieces together and use good, common sense in their deliberations. Justice for Kathleen Savio will soon be in their hands.

I am saying a prayer for Kathleen Savio's family and friends that they receive justice for their loved one. Their road has been a long one and they are not finished yet. They still have more healing to do no matter what the verdict is.

Finally, I am saying a prayer for the Peterson children to have strength and courage. The four that were at home when they lost their mothers have been through so much.

We could all use a blessing this day.

:wave:And Good :cup: Morning to you, LaLaw, and all :websleuther:Sleuthers!!:websleuther:

As usual, ITA with all you said up there, LaLaw! We do need The Big Guy on our side for all the victims of DP's slaughter and his attitude towards women and human beings in general. Sometimes justice works in mysterious ways -- I wonder if it is already working in DP's mind?? Close call, that one. :jail:

I do think he loves his children -- as much as someone like him can -- but he loves himself more, and that is not the right way to live, IMHO.

Again, my uptight feeling about this case is back -- it's hard to think about verdict because it scares me so....

Will this sidebar continue for C/A's, and then a new one for verdict watch?

:hug:Think :crossfingers: positively:yes:, peeps, :grouphug: think :justice:.

And it doesn't hurt to keep our:crossfingers: fingers :crossfingers: crossed !!

:liar: -------> :jail:

And a BIG THANK YOU to our mods, especially our lovable alien, Kimster, for setting up our threads and keeping us all honest and on the right track!!!
