Truslow used the example that if an expert said the class and characteristic was an attorney in Myrtle Beach, he himself could fit that description.

Koenig said he felt Fredericks did a good job with his report regarding the vehicle in question in this case. However, he said that when something is deemed to be unique, it needs to have something more than the same class and characteristic.

Argh, I wish I could fast-forward this live stream...

  • #63
Truslow asks the witness if it was possible that the known vehicle could have been owned and operated by someone in the upstate. A woman sitting behind the Moorers raised both her hands slightly in the air.

___

aren't the M's extended family sitting behind them??

Grant Fredericks, who works in forensic video analysis, testified that he is a contract instructor at the FBI National Academy and has taught forensic video analysis in a number of countries. Fredericks talked at length about reverse projection, which is the process of overlaying temporary images of a scene with historic images of a scene in order to make observations or to obtain measurements.

Headlight spread patterns were also discussed.

Fredericks testified that he could not identify a truck shown in a video in relation to this case without the use of this science.

Not being superficial but real, TM is packing on the pounds. Another reality she's facing, no photoshop today!

  • #66
I think TM has probably gained weight since she's not on a prison diet anymore. That said... the one thing women universally do is make disparaging comments about other womens' looks in order to judge them. Like this is the most awful thing that can be. And we don't do this to men, have you noticed? I don't mean this about any particular poster, and it's not directed to you, Bestill. Your post and others reminded me. I'm just making a general statement. It's done to women overAndover. Like yes, you're a murdering liar Ms. So&So, but more important, you're ugly and fat! So there! ( ooohhhh burnnnnn).

Lunch break - hearing will resume at 1:30 p.m.

I'm interested in the hearing. I could care less how Tammy Moorer looks. :)

  • #69
If she didn't touch up her photos so much I could care less how she looks but the fact that she HACKS the crap out of her pictures online and walks into court looking like a 15 year older version of her facebook photo self, I agree with the posts about her appearance. Normally, I hate when women judge other women on their looks but with TM- all bets are all. IMHO of course.

Judge says he will allow Koenig to testify

WPDE ABC15 ‏@wpdeabc15 33m33 minutes ago
Koenig said Fredericks conclusion, that it must be the vehicle belonging to Sidney Moorer, he does not agree with

WPDE ABC15 ‏@wpdeabc15 32m32 minutes ago
Koenig says he agrees the vehicle is consistent with that vehicle, but that is different than it could not possibly be any other vehicle

WPDE ABC15 ‏@wpdeabc15 25m25 minutes ago
Koenig says the uniqueness factors that came in to play with Frederick making his decision can change and might not be same during testing

Claire Byun ‏@Claire_TSN 22m22 minutes ago
Koenig said headlight pattern analysis good for determining type of car, but not exactly what car -too unique to determine. #moorerhearing

WPDE ABC15 ‏@wpdeabc15 18m18 minutes ago
Truslow says the headlights in truck were taken out by law enforcement and it was driven by different owner in upstate. (1/2)

WPDE ABC15 ‏@wpdeabc15 18m18 minutes ago
(2/2) Koenig says those elements would factor in to the analysis

Court is recessing until around 1:30 p.m. Come back for more updates then!

View of the video feed from courtroom:

IMO SM's light blue sweater is an odd clothing choice. If I were the defendant, I would wear a conservative suit. Doesn't Truslow "dress" his clients?

The reason for my post about TM and the way she looks is her online person doesn't match the real one. SM looks the same as always.

I watched the entire hearing so far. In my opinion, the state's expert is head and shoulders above the defense's when it comes to experience, knowledge, and integrity. It wasn't even close it would seem to me. My only wish is that it were the actual trial with a jury sitting there, because I have to think that if/when a jury hears those two that the defenses opinions won't hold much weight with them.

I also thought the prosecutor did a great job and seems prepared, where SM's attorney seemed to fumble quite a bit with his questions when he was crossing such an expert witness that the state presented.

Seems like someone is a little late......

No other questions for the witness from both sides. He [Koenig] is told he can step down.

No more witnesses are being called. Truslow is now making his case to Judge Dennis about why Fredericks' testimony should be limited.

  • #78
It seems like the judge is lecturing Truslow at this point that Truslow's opinion of the states expert is wrong. That he agrees with and accepts the methods used to come to his conclusions.

Hearing getting started again w/ Nancy Livesay, prosecutor for the state, cross-examining Bruce Koenig

WPDE ABC15 ‏@wpdeabc15 7m7 minutes ago
Truslow summarizes and says mix of scientific work done in this case. Court has to look at if it is reliable scientific conclusion

Claire Byun ‏@Claire_TSN 9m9 minutes ago
No more witness testimony. The attorneys are making their final arguments now.

And the hearing is over. Judge Dennis said they will schedule another date to hear other motions that were not gotten to today.
Brad via 2 minutes ago

Judge Dennis said he will allow the testimony from the state's expert witness. The trial is currently scheduled for June.
