Found Deceased Siletz, OR - 2yo Dane Paulsen, missing from yard of residence, 01 MAR 2025

I wonder why he was outside playing unsupervised. That is the impression I’m getting from reading the reports. Please someone correct me if I’m making an incorrect assumption.
My question also -- please excuse if this is not the situation. Children can "get away" somewhere quickly.

Same. I’m of the opinion he fell in the river, and my hope right now is they are able to find his body.
Same here, sad to say.
Still hoping for good news

I am as well. I have hope every time I see a thread like this. Then, there is the time and invariably water. Sending good vibes out that way but I am not optimistic any longer.

Search for Dane Paulsen - 4pm Update
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and partnering agencies have continued active search operations and followed up on informational tips in the search for Dane Paulsen throughout today. These efforts are ongoing with officials completing additional ground, water, and air searches. The investigation team continues to follow up on leads from community members. Official search efforts are planned through this evening and into tomorrow.
Community members are not encouraged to search during the evening hours due to decreased visibility and increased chance of injury. Community members can help by sharing official updates which can be found on our FlashAlert and Facebook page and by reporting relevant information to the tip line: 541-265-0669
So far, 311 miles have been covered and 682 acres have been searched. Of those 682 acres, community volunteers searched 230 acres, for which we are incredibly grateful.
Additionally, the following resources have been deployed during the search for Dane:
- 88 Certified Search and Rescue Members
- 4 Watercraft
- 13 Divers
- 4 Drones
- 6 Human Trailing K9s
- 40 Investigators
- More than 140 Community Volunteers
Updates will continue to be shared through FlashAlert and our social media as they become available. The next media release is expected tomorrow morning March 4, 2025, unless major updates become available sooner.
Once again, we thank our community for their compassion and assistance. Our team and the community are working to bring Dane home.
Bless their hearts -- this has got to wear on all those dedicated folks who are helping out, and for those who are praying for a good outcome.
For their sakes, and certainly for Dane, his folks and all who know him, this will have a good ending. <sigh>

:( The press conference was so somber. They are saying a lot without actually saying it.

There is no evidence of an abduction.
Last known to be near the water.
The water temp is in the 40s

Thanks for posting the presser @Jo in Calif

Search has shifted to recovery though they didn’t say that in so many words.
They apparently found evidence that Dane was at rivers edge with “impressions” found and dogs marking the area “relatively near his home” per questions being answered.
Very sad but not unexpected information.
They have had 13 divers in 2 miles of very fast moving very cold 44-46 degree river.
I hope they recover this little boy.
So heartbreaking.

Still nothing, oh man. What kind of hell is this for his parents? How many days can you go without sleep?

The river is tidal influenced that far up stream, it’s possible he could’ve been carried to siletz bay. I don’t believe they started searching there yet?

There was a very bad windstorm last week and quite a few trees came down. I imagine there are many snags and tree limbs in the Siletz river right now, it’s awful so think about.

I don't think so. I feel so bad for that family. I hope this search is over soon.
