Silver Nitrate Sticks/DD removed from the home

  • #21
Didn't she say in her blog-radio interview that DD comes over to her house every day though?

Yes BD did say he comes over everyday, but we don't know if he comes alone or not. when i took temp. custody of a friends child due to domestic disputes they could not see the child alone i or a caseworker had to be present , i should say that they voluntarily had him placed with me we didn't have to go to court but they did have to go to court to get him back MOO I don't believe BD

Can BD be charged with child endangerment now that we know her children were
around pot and drugs?
Can she be arrested for stealing things from the hospital through word of mouth about the silver nitrate sticks?
Child abuse if DD is scarred on his back like CD said???

If the boys or whoever scratced the image into the skin before applying the silver nitrate would it permanently stain?

From everything I've read so far, it's not supposed to. So I guess the big question here is...does DD still have UFC and Tapout on his back? :waitasec:

Posted for reference from Billie's radio interview Feb 7:

Host: you had cut something into David with a circumcision knife or used acid.

Billie: I can explain what I think they’re probably talking about is silver nitrate sticks. They look like a match. You dip them in water, and they’ll stain your skin, and I’ve come home with those, or alcohol swabs, or pins in my pocket.

David and a friend got a hold of those, and drew on each other, and that’s the only thing they’ve ever drawn on each other with. There’s been no carving. or acids, or chemicals, or anything.

Did you do this to your son, what they’re accusing you of?

No.

I had surgery on my foot a few years ago and the incision would not heal. I had to go to a wound clinic where they used silver nitrate sticks to repeatedly burn the edges of the wound in order to keep them from healing independently and to encourage the edges to grow together when healing. Anyway, I may be wrong, but I don't remember them dipping them in water prior to doing this. I can see how the dipping in water would keep them from burning the skin and instead just stain the skin. So anyway...my question is.....HOW WOULD DD KNOW TO DIP THEM IN WATER??? Wouldn't BD or a medical professional need to tell him that they would not burn him, but would stain him, if dipped in water first? Heck....how would he even know what they were or that they would stain skin, if BD didn't show him, tell him, or do this to someone in the family prior to this event with the friend?

I have to wonder if the silver nitrate sticks didn't lead to DD being removed from the home. I've never heard of a child being removed because a sibling went missing ever before! Has anyone else?

Yes. It happened in the Amber White case.

Bingo! IMO he would not.
Wetting the tip activates the chemicals. like an alka-seltzer... Now if the wound is already wet,or a mucous membrane like inside the mouth it would not have to be done but dry healthy skin? It would. Even when used on wounds, stomas, granulation tissue and umbilical cords care is taken to AVOID touching the healthy skin so as NOT to burn it.
DD is 16. In all my years in pediatrics I do not recall EVER having a 16 yr old male removed from the home unless the parents couldn't handle him or he was out of control. I have a sneakikg suspicion DD requested to live elsewhere after LE asked him if he wanted to remain in the home or not.

At that point IMO there was something SERIOUSLY WRONG going on in that home.
Maybe just never enough food... could be simple I guess, but not something I would call routine. ONLY because since 1988 I never came across a situation like that in our practice and we have always had
20,000 to 30,000 patients at any given time and the child's doctor is always notified here in GA.

but this ain't Texas, so what do I really know. :waitasec:

android posted please excuse typos.

Do we know for sure he was "removed" or he asked to go, or what? Is it possible it was mutual decision because the home is in upset at the moment?

ETA: Okay, found this again... But not 100% sure what it means:

Hailey Dunn's brother no longer staying at home in Colorado City

COLORADO CITY — The brother of missing Colorado City girl Hailey Dunn is staying with a relative, family members said Wednesday.

Pete Kampfer, city manager of Colorado City, confirmed the report and said the Texas Department of Protective and Family Services was involved in the placement of 16-year-old <DD> in another home.

Officials at Child Protective Services, however, could not confirm involvement in the case, said CPS public information officer Marleigh Meisner.

Hailey's Older Brother Is Moved From Dunn Home In Colorado City

POSTED: 4:49 pm CST January 19, 2011
UPDATED: 8:15 am CST January 20, 2011

COLORADO CITY, Texas -- KTXS learned Wednesday that Hailey Dunn's older brother, D, has been taken into temporary custody of Child Protective Services.

Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer said it is common practice to remove a child when a situation like this occurs.

However, on the "Nancy Grace" show Wednesday night, BD told Grace that is not the case. She said her son is living with her brother and visiting every day. BD said there was too much craziness going on, and she felt it was best if D stayed with her brother.

I would be surprised if this were standard practice across the board, except for foster kids. (I have heard of it being standard practice when a foster kid goes missing in some places.)

In my opinion he was moved by mutual agreement.
It was a foregone conclusion so everyone saved themselves the court hearing.

LE knows much more than we do.
Maybe can't prove to a trial level of evidence but they know way more than we do.

And it has nothing to do with pot smoking videos, pill popping habits or silver nitrate sticks. That is just your everyday run of the mill bad parenting these days.

None of the parties involved strike me a particularly clever, but I have to say when I step back and see how much mud has been slung and how many diversions are going on at this point, it feels more like manipulation than chaos.
