Sir Elton Has a Hissy Fit

OHHHHH! I love Daniel. It is a tear jerker. ;(

I LOVE Daniel; and one of my favorites is "Candle In the Wind". I always think of Marilyn when he sings it. What could be a more perfect song for her?

He's a genius, plain and simple.

(I don't care for Crockodile rock; unless you want to dance the jitterbug; then it's pretty good) I think it's just that I've heard it too many times.

"I can see Daniel...
Must be the clouds in my eyes...."

Oh, I MISS you Daniel....
Oh, oh, oh oh
Must be the clouds in my eyes...." (something like that, LOL)

I've always loved loved loved this song and when I was pregnant and deciding what to do with the nursery, I thought very seriously about painting "how wonderful life is while you're in the world" on the wall. Nothing big, just for my son to see when he got bigger. I still may do it, but I hum it to him (he's 5 months) and when he's bigger I'll let him know that this is mine and his song.

I say do it shopper! If you feel like painting the wall is too big of a
commitment, paint it on an interesting piece of wood and hang in on the wall. You will love it and so will he~

I love so many of his songs that it's hard to pick my favorite...
Same here. Add Levon and Tiny Dancer to the list of favorites. :)

I love that, isn't that from Philadelphia, with Tom Hanks? That movie was just too sad for me. It's about his father had rejected him because he was gay.

The song is the epitomy of poignance.

I love Philadelphia. That song is at the end of the movie "And the Band Played On" about the beginning of the AIDS epidemic and all the political BS that slowed it (research) down. They play that song and show actual pictures of people who've died with it, film of memorial services etc and I can't imagine ANYONE not crying watching that. If you've never seen it (it may be an HBO film?) FIND IT!

They were having trouble casting it originally because celebrities were hesitant to be associated with AIDS but then Richard Gere asked to be in it and suddenly the flood gates opened and everyone was signing on. Great movie but will make you angry as well.

Right. That subject is just too sad for me; I have too many other things to be depressed about LOL. That was so sad about Ms. Glaser who died, from a transfusion I think.

My daughter almost had a transfusion when she was born in '78; and that's before they new about the aids being in transfusions.

I am SO thankful I didn't have to worry about it later. Thank you Lord; you've been good to me....
