The fact that the tape may have been wrapped around her head is a good thought, but wouldn't it have become disloged when her skull fell out of the bag?

You'd think...or well, not to be too 'disturbing' but perhaps she was taped after death to keep in fluids? I'm sorry, I don't mean to be so plain about it.

Fox35 reporter said that ducttape was around the mouth area of the skull... I just saw the reporter say it with her own mouth.

coincidentally, I am reading a book by a forensic anthropologist right about her UN investigation of the mass graves in Bosnia and Kosovo, and she discusses stages of human decomp. a lot (it's a little hard to stomach at times). maybe the head was not fully decomposed under the area where the tape was? is there a forensics person on this thread who might be able to explain why the duct tape would not have fallen off when the skin decomposed?

and, thank GOD it stayed there...that's going to be the piece of evidence that ties it to Casey.

also...is anyone else having problems with the website right now? every other site is working fine right now, but I'm finding that it's taking a few minutes to get to each place on this site in particular. is it because we're all crashing the server with this new development?

if the child was beaten or duct tape over the child's mouth, it's Murder 1
if they can prove the child suffered, then it's a DP case.

if the child died of an accidental overdose, then it's murder 2 BUT
they may request stricter charges if there was extra care taken to hide/dispose of the body

if the body was placed in the location 6 months ago, then KC is automatically it.
if the body was placed in the location while KC has been detained, there is an accomplice, obviously.

if no body had been found, then KC had a chance at a plea deal. since they have found a body, KC is fried.

Happening Now on Fox news just reported the only thing confirmed is that a skull was found. Dr. Baden says that duct tape is the very best evidence you can have it retains fingerprints even if it gets wet. But I don't know what she used the shovel for because it was reported earlier that the bag was not buried at all. But if the duct tape is across her mouth it is 1st degree murder no doubt. Since they searched this area several times they are wondering if the bag was there all along or put there recently. But it was probably just under water and not found.

Apparently Tim did search this area but it was underwater until just recently. He said they lost a complete ATV searching there because the water was so deep. Also, WESH reported that Mallory was coming to take care of the dogs while the A's were gone.

From what I understand, if there is strong evidence suggesting that Casey(or any parent/relative of a murder victim), is responsible for their death, the presiding Judge and the Sheriff's Dept can jointly decide NOT to allow the suspect to attend any memorial services.

My info was gathered from legal experts in Florida criminal law on MSNBC "Breaking News" on T.V. a bit ago, so take this info with a grain or two of salt until confirmed.

They are also reporting that there is police presence in the backyard of the Anthony home, and that the crime scene is located about 100 yards directly behind the Anthony home. So there is a possibility that they are investigating whether Casey could have accessed the crime scene from the Anthony backyard. It is also possible that they are merely trying to prevent the "curious" from gaining access to the property.

WFTV just reported before that 2 OCSO are securing the backyard because the crime scene going on "is a footballs throw away from the house" is how the reporter described the scene.

Baez did visit KC but would not talk to reporters. He was very agitated per the reporter at the courthouse. Baez is going to hold a news conference later today.

I'm no expert, but the idea of someone retrieving the bones and staging them as a kidnapping popped into my head. I just threw up in my mouth a little typing that. I am appalled that woods that close to their house weren't searched, if that is in fact the case.

After I wrote that I thought of one circumstance in which the tape might have stuck and I really hate to write this. If Caylee screamed while the tape was on her mouth it may have stuck to her teeth.

I think it may have been loose and dislodged, but if she wrapped it around her head the loop of tape would be clear what it was used for based on size and being filled with Caylee's hair.
