I'm sorry, something is just not sitting right w/ me. If this POI that was spotted by his pickup had anything to do w/ the murders, surely don't you think he would have high tailed it out of there and not let a witness look him in the eyes? You can hear vehicles coming from quite a distance on a dirt road. If he was indeed the murderer, he would have hid himself as if to look like he was fixing a flat tire, not stare into someone's eyes. That just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe these so called witnesses are the ones involed in the murder and trying to throw LE off.

  • #342
Maybe they saw him before the murders? I don't know his motive or mindset. Maybe he didn't really give a poo about being seen before he shot them, as long as he wasn't seen doing it, or leaving the scene.

Kahskye, It is a possibility. Cops just aren't giving out much info at all and that frustrates the public. I do believe though that they have made some maybe significant progress in the case simply because they are not saying much...that suggest they are working on a theory.

  • #344
Maybe they're not coming forward, because they don't want to have to explain what they were doing on that road. Maybe it's due to an affair or something like that and why they don't want to be identified.

Good point, kahskye.

  • #345
Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind, Kahskye. However, it would depend on how they obtained the witness. If they came across him during the investigation and then he came up with this mystery man...maybe. If he came forward on his own and LE has obviously deemed him to be credible...I don't think so. We can never say it wouldn't happen because it has, but chances are good he was not involved.

OT: Happy Birthday again. :)

Seriously Searching:
"I went to the store and I saw 4 older trucks just like the one I posted with the chrome running down the sides (they were light blue and white or all light blue). I still looked carefully at the people. It won't surprise me to find it is an older truck. The witness surely knows this small detail and why they wouldn't release it is beyond me."

I bet that truck is closed up in a garage or hidden in the woods now.... also the driver has had a haircut.... by the way, your nickname is very appropriate!

harleysnana,
"I think they have more than one witness.
They said they have a witness that saw the girls they believe
right before they were shot.
And then they said they have a witness who saw the guy and his truck.
But I don't think they said it was the same witness.
I could be wrong."

I think OSBI's witness could be any number of individuals of either gender. They would not release any identifying information for the protection of those who have come forward. The person/people may be nowhere near Weleetka ... If I thought I had been seen by a killer at or near the crimescene, I would have contacted authorities from far away & said you send agents here to interview me.

Beyond Belief,
"This guy has to have a job, i can't believe an employer hasn't come forward with information by now"

Not if he is Native American. Many live off their stipend from the government. There is an informative post a few pages back in this thread.

harleysnana,
Let's think positive.... maybe they didn't show it because they have him
in custody and they didn't need to!

It is odd especially since the show was filming & interviewing there earlier this week. I wouldn't expect a statement from law enforcement until after a suspect had been booked & questioned. Then they may have to wait until he lawyer's up before interrogation & possibly getting reports from lab work, etc............. We all would love to awaken to news of an arrest!

I for one am going to say a very special prayer before I go to sleep tonight that an arrest is in the works.

Alot would depend on if the last witness saw the girls. If he did, the murder had not happened. If not, either it had just happened or they were still alive, but hidden (which I doubt).

Yes, if this is the one that shot them...he would want to be gone immediately. We don't know the circumstances of the witness coming up on him tho. Did he turn onto the road nearest Taylor's house or did he come from the direction of the bridge? How fast was he going? I think the POI was surprised by him either way.

How long would it take to unload two guns? A couple of minutes or three? I don't know since I have never done it. Anyone?

To fire off 12 shots could be done in less than a minute of rapid fire.

depends on how experienced u r in doing it. like anything else...if ur doig something u have done before and often then u could do it very quickly. However if u r inexperienced naturally it would take longer. Guessing on the average..maybe a minute or two.

I have a feeling this guy is very experienced when it comes to guns.

LOL Thanks, NoZ! I was thinking of changing my nickname, but maybe not.

One thing I can tell you is that he has NOT cut his hair. I think he has family and will convince them he was in the wrong place at the wrong time...so they will keep him safe...for the moment. He hasn't given up the truck either. Might be parked at a friend's house.

WE know they changed the length of his hair...but I just saw the local news and no one else knows this. They are not picking up on it yet. It is a VERY important fact tho.

This guy is known around certain circles. He could be an artist. He could be in construction. He could be a crack dealer. But he is known. Someone is going to put it together and give LE the tip to find at least his family or some friends.

Is the SO arrests records available on line for that county?

It seems like different witnesses saw different things and some only heard the shots.

Excerpt:
Brown described the man authorities want to interview as American Indian, 6 feet tall, with brown eyes and a long black ponytail. She said a couple of witnesses told the OSBI they saw the man near where the girls were found dead. Other witnesses said they heard gunshots but did not report seeing the man or his white truck, Brown said.

Brown declined to say how many gunshots were heard or at what times. Previously, authorities said ballistics tests showed that two different-caliber guns were used in the slayings. Another witness said he or she saw the girls before their deaths, according to officials.

I think the sighting of him was before the girls were killed in that same spot that his truck was seen.

Kind of like Couey and Duncan.

Both of those crimes shocked the #*%@ out of me....
and neither of them ended up how I thought they would.

That is the hard part because being a normal person….
we want to figure out why.... as if a reason would make it any
easier to deal with.

I just can't understand the things that do go through some of these monsters minds
….it makes me sick!

I agree SS.... we just don't know.
The person or people who did this are far from normal and they are cold blooded, violent dregs of society. There can be no reason good enough. The why is a question we will always ask and probably will always allude us. While I want to try to figure out cases, I never expect to be able to wrap my head around how they are wired nor do I want to. There just is no reasoning or logic to make this ever less than it is. It is beyond vicious. The person or people behind this have no soul and do not deserve to be sharing our air. They need to go straight to Hell and we need to provide them a link.

I had hoped to return this evening and read of an arrest. I don't think it will take much longer. Regarding how fast you can unload two weapons; I could do it in under a minute and a half, and that would include time to retrieve the other weapon. I would assume it had to take a bit longer because he had to walk up to them and get close for the under the chin shot. I imagine the "suspicious" behavior that witnesses reported was him removing one of the used magazines and either reloading it, or replacing it with a full magazine. He had to realize he had been seen, and he would have wanted to have a weapon with a full magazine in case he encountered anyone who tried to stop him. I also think the girls were already dead in the ditch when the witness saw him beside the truck. Since they were laying in the ditch, and the witness was focused on the "strange behavior", the girls were just not seen.

Yes and they have been gone through more than once. It would have been one of the first things LE did, too. I know more than one here went through them, too. We are also covering the state. We are also looking at escapees and others (people who have been released recently etc.).

I had not thought about the possibility that he killed them then the witness came up...so after they went passed...he was angry and then unloaded another gun on them. The grandmother said she thought they were gone when the other shots were fired. He might not have done the second gun until he knew someone had seen him and he went back because he was even more angry.

Oh, sorry. I don't know. If it is any indication that most of the escapees still listed as such were caught almost a month ago...probably not.
