Welcome kalekona :)

Thanks for the welcome.. I read a bit here but don't post much.
Spent most of the day reading the media coverage and looking at all the photo's.. makes it all much more personal.

I really think if there was a connection the local media (if not the national) would have picked up on by now.

I don't. The media goes with what is easy. They don't get out and do much investigative leg work anymore.

WELCOME!

Thanks for correcting me! Don't know why I said that. For some reason stepfather got in my brain as grandfather.

Time to take off the glasses and clean them!!

Either way, they still had something in common in that respect. Then again, seems like most of the kids these days no matter where they live, have that in common. How sad!!

True but in a small town a connection like that wouldn't take any leg work at all to find...

And speaking of that, when was the last time the media or LE have said anything about this case???????

Yep, not recently. Something is either wrong or something big is going to happen soon.

Or, they don't have a clue.

Oh I dont think it is necessarily a bad thing.

I have seen children who have very loving stepmothers or stepfathers and they were much better to them than their own bio parent.

The main thing I am sure that she and Mr. Whitaker loved Skyla very much.

Welcome!!!!!! Sorry for it being late. Saw your 2007 join date and didn't see how many posts you've made.

I would think in such a small town, the local media would be crawling over this every day??

Oh, I didn't mean it that way. I'm adopted. Best thing that could have happened to me. I'm also a step-mother. The mother and I made sure there was no aminosity between us so the kids wouldn't have any problems. We've all gone out together (my hubby, his ex, our children, his and her children and my children.) So I know all about blended. :)

I don't think this POI is from that town so finding the connection could be a very involved thing to do imo.

The media just seems to interview LE most of the time now and they wouldn't give the connection out to the media even if they knew it.

Back for a minute after hours of checking that corrections center offenders. I thought we'd pitch in on that because it's huge and some here are better with matching up sketches better than me.

On another point, let me just remind some that drugs do not discriminate. Check the link I posted back on page 7 I think to see the situation on drugs with NA's just in the OK. region just like any other race.

Also the long sleeves may have been a cover of tattoos if this POI has ever been in the prison system because those are documented.

In the case of the witnesses saying a NA with possible caucasion that could describe many possibilities. How about hispanic, pacific islander and so on. If anyone is interested go see the offender list of NA and I promise you I'd never guess it myself.

If the POI hasn't come forward possibly it's because he was involved or then again once his sketch came out along with a description of his vehicle he was offed himself so as not to lead LE to him.

I wonder if it is possible that the POI borrowed the truck he was seen driving.

The reason I wonder that is because a lot of the Native Americans drive vehicles with tribal tags - they are much cheaper than standard Oklahoma tags plus displaying them show pride in tribal affiliation. The tags for each tribe are different. If the tag was a standard Oklahoma tag, perhaps the vehicle was not his.

I've attached a link from 2005 that states that there are over 30 tribes issuing tags in the state of Oklahoma and that at that time the Creek Nation had over 15,000 tags issued to drivers.

It looks like there is one reporter or news source that is doing something on the case just about every day.. Today's article was more about the town but it keeps the girls names out there.

It is hard to keep the spot light on a story when there is no real news...

Thanks for the Welcome!

I had read that too! Most of the other boards I have scanned seem to be really out of control. That is what I like about here, these crimes are taken seriously.

You guys should be proud:)

Welcome to the club! Ain't it grand what inclusiveness can do?

I love it, live it and wouldn't have it any other way.

Wouldn't you think that truck is probably in a canal someplace by now?

I commend that news site. They have done expectational work on this case.

I would think he is traveling in an entirely different vehicle by now but who knows by now he may be in Mexico or Canada.
