Sleuthing Cindy's Depo & Baez Objections to Sealed Items

Oh....maybe that's what the bombshell is????? Would the Globe need to purchase this picture in order to publish it, or could they have gotten it online same as we have seen posted here since now it is public information released under the sunshine law?

Was the full uncropped photo released to the public? If so, wasn't it released after Oct 2008 anyway?

Another thought...didn't Ricardo delete some emails to the Globe? Maybe he sold the picture?

OK - this is driving me crazy and we will probably never know what the big hulabaloo was during this depo....but I went to the docket sheet of the criminal case to see exactly what mention of documents under seal, etc. there might be.

I believe this has to do with the ethics complaint against JB - I wish we could log into the system and see the actual motions/orders. Do we have a copy of the order dated 1/8/09 of JS? This seems to be the only SEALED document on the docket sheet. All other matters were "Stayed" or stopped for release by the Judge - but not sealed.

Thought it might point us in a direction that would help. Sorry I can't do much else - having to work

How awful if Casey selected a picture of Caylee dressed in her burial shirt to take to JB's office to sell to the highest bidder. And she knew it was what was with or on her when she died. This is what it's looking like, isn't it?

This had to do with JB wanting a "special master" to be appointed to oversee any questioning of Dominic Casey by LE, to make sure no privileged matters were discussed. There was a hearing and an order issued, but I can't find the order on the Official Docs thread.

If documents were submitted in camera for the judge's consideration relating to this issue, I would think the documents in question (if they were submitted by the defense) would be things tending to prove that D. Casey was working for the defense team. Also, if the docs were provided pursuant to the Jan. 8, 2009 order, we should be able to tell what the docs were based on the language of that order.

ETA: Actually, my recollection from the hearing was that the SA was going to provide D. Casey's testimony for the judge to review in camera to ensure there was no privileged material. And then the judge did end up ordering that one portion of his testimony should not be released, right? So maybe the second page of the handwritten notes was discussed in the non-public portion of D. Casey's testimony to LE, and JB was concerned at Cindy's depo that they were going to discuss D. Casey's testimony about "WHY" the things listed on that page were being gathered.

Caylee has that mark under her eye also...putting that photo around the same time the other photos of caylee were taking with that mark under her eye....i think at TonE apartment??

Wasn't it Ricardo that said she bumped her face on his coffee table causing that mark? The pic could have been taken by Ricardo and sold to the Globe. Maybe Baez got the pic from Casey and when Ricardo saw it he emailed the Globe to tell them that he took the picture.

You are correct about this motion being about Dominic's interview.

And thank you to Mosby for bringing over the info about the Globe picture. I think that may have much relevance to this thread, as the picture was shown to both George and Cindy. This is what sleuthing is all about here!

I agree with Macushla about the pics issue, but it is the first objection Baez did that is still bugging me.

No, Baez's DNA testing papers were included in a doc dump. I've got them around somewhere... will have to search.

How fantastic would it be if we had all the docs on Concordance!!! I had a case that had over 4 million documents produced in the discovery phase. Concordance saved my butt on more than a few occasions in that case.

I think the judge was going to review the tape of DC in the woods in camera. I wish we had the order to review. I'm now thinking this objection may have more to do with DC/JB/KC stuff. Heck, maybe the handwritten list was done by DC......
I do believe the depo has already been redacted and that is why there such a gap. I don't think the SA agreed to back down at the depo...MOO

I am guessing he didn't. I think Casey had it, gave it to Baez and sold it to the Globe. Cindy wants control over all the sale of pics etc. and I think her and Baez having been in a power struggle with this for quite some time.

There is no gap, I think WFTV (in a hurry to get them up, THANK YOU!) missed a section. It was posted later in full (and linked earlier in this thread).

And I will add, I hope LE found this specific photo on either the tower or laptop. Whether it was RM or whomever, ya know KC will have had a copy of it.

Im thinking its JB daughter who is the one who puts them up for sale....:furious:....that is the only way i can think of that lets JB off the hook....so to speak....:banghead:

What is Concordance? Definitely want to know more, and if there is anything similar!

There are various legal document management software applications. Concordance however is the most widely used application. Basically it allows you to share documents over a network or the Internet. You can do full text searches, tag documents etc. For example, if you're reviewing documents and you find it to be a "hot document" that proves or disproves an element in your case (or claim if you're in a civil matter) then you can "tag" it as so. And then when you want to review your hot docs then you can immediately have access to them instead of going through the entire database. More than likely these "hot docs" become trial exhibits when you go to trial.

I don't think so. JB is ultimately responsible for anything that leaves his office when it is represented in his name. Take the motions for instance, just another :doh: moment in time for him. Darn, wish we had a "hook em in" from left stage smilie.

Now if she "borrowed" it, it would be thief. But JB is again responsible for any clients possessions/documents whatever that are in his care.

This is from the transcript of Casey’s interview right after she was indicted and arrested. She always seems to slip and give up details. Check out this statement:

“When people are only getting their information from the Nancy Grace’s or from GLOBE MAGAZINE or People or you know stuff like that.”

This is from a 10/14/08 interview and the Globe Magazine is dated on the front cover as being 10/20/08.

My theory as to how Casey may have talked Baez into selling this picture....

Casey told Baez or whoever the agent was for this photo that Caylee was wearing this shirt when she was snatched from Blanchard Park, dropped off at Sawgrass (whatever story she was going with that day). The Globe is told this is the last thing that Caylee was seen wearing when she was “snatched” so IF she is ever found perhaps she will be in that shirt because the likelihood of a kidnapper keeping her alive would be slim to none just based on normal child abduction statistics. Could have gone as far as to tell the Globe….we are only telling you this part about the shirt in confidence because this is a detail only the real “kidnapper” would know and the “police” don’t want to let all the details out. So IF she is ever found, you will already have this picture and published which will make it worth a whole lot of defense dollars….you buying what I’m selling?
