Exactly! News media typically have sympathy for parents or grandparents who are victims. It's hard to stay the course when inteviewing CA.
It was obvious in interviews later in the case that the A's only agreed under certain conditions.Condition 1 : Handle with Kid gloves Condition 2: Make us look good.

They had to put condition 2 on there because they made themselves look so bad. IMO

How can anyone watch this video and not question how poor little Caylee could be expected to cope with Casey's disordered personality any better than Cindy and George? Seriously!

This is the interview that sparked my interest in this case. I can recall thinking, "now what is that Grandma hiding"?

Re: the transcribing - you all are very welcome. For whatever weird reason, I was driven to type that all up… even though I don’t really think there is any “evidence” here. Well, let me take that back. I don’t think there is any evidence here regarding any wrong-doing by any of the three A’s. I am still not clear about wrong-doing by the police…. because I am not clear about the law. Let’s say Jose (as is being reported) told Sheriff Beary and/or his designees that he did not want KC to have any visits or phone calls or face-to-face pow-wows with her family while he was out of town. And let’s say that the Sheriff and/or his designees know that they can overrule Jose if KC requests that he be overruled. And let’s say they told GA and CA that if KC requested the visit, they would make it happen. So then GA decides today’s the day and pretty much comes straight out and says, if KC asks for a visit, it will happen. ***Note: all of this is speculation on my part, I have no idea what went down*** I don’t *think* that Jose has any legal ground to force LE to adhere to his wishes over the wishes of his client. Now I read something about if GA was acting as an agent of the OCSO… Maybe someone can give me the “For Dummies” version?

Also, did anyone figure out who the random guy was? As I was typing the transcript it felt like KC steered away from virtually every topic that GA or CA brought up - the prison food, the trip to Lake County, the gifts people have been sending for Caylee. But the random guy, she just keeps going on. I think it's really weird.

And I wonder, just curious what you guys think, if GA had gotten to have this secret meeting would they really have not recorded it? That's hard for me to imagine but I don't know what is legal... seems to me maybe they could record it without her knowledge but then maybe not use it in court, just use it to find the body?

Now I am off to check out this interview of Cindy! :D

Well it seems no one had any insight on my last post here... :D so here's another one.

I thought this statement was hilarious... KC regarding LE:

" [FONT=&quot]I mean I want their help, as much as we can get it, but they need to help us, too."

:waitasec:

It's interesting to watch both Megyn and Greta when they have their first interviews with CA. They start out all sympathetic and you can just see the shock and dismay when they realize that they are speaking to a "looney-tune" self-righteous and rude Grandma...

MOO

My hope is that Nancy Grace "gets" that soon, too.

Oh! And I watched that linked video, and people have probably brought it up before, but I thought it was interesting that CA says Caylee "has been missing from my daughter since the 14th of June." So we know the dates were wrong in the beginning, the 9th vs. the 15th, and they (well everyone except KC) corrected them based on the Father's Day video, so why on earth AFTER that would CA say yet another different and wrong date? Especially one that didn't jive with GA's story of seeing them on the 16th?

A not-guilty might say KC dropped her off with CA on the 14th for the upcoming Father's Day visit and never saw her again.

I'm not a not-guilty, but I thought it was unusual.

i thought that was strange too, but it was still very early in to the case, like a week since cindy made the 911 calls. i guess they didn't have all their stories straight yet. [wink]

Cindy sounds drugged. She is slurring her words. She said "Casey has been as honest as she can with the authorities and has told them the truth as much as she can?" WTF does that mean. There are different levels of honesty??

I loved the newswoman and how she handled Cindys rambling.

Casey was as honest as she could be because if she were more honest...she would have had to tell them the truth of what she did to Caylee. She did tell them as much as she could - without incriminating herself. Notice how she also said that Casey told them "in her own way". What way is that Cindy? The lying way? That does seem to be Casey's "way" alright.

Glad you caught that, I missed it....thank you. ;)

I think Cindy would call it the "mis-truth way".

bump for those that are looking for this

i stumbled upon this gem of an interview today, it is a telephone interview between FOX news and cindy A from July 21, 2008...cindy get's quite upset with the interviewer because she won't let her speak, she eventually becomes quite argumentative and i think she hangs up before the interview is over...it reminded me SO much of casey in the Aug 14 jail video!

I just watched the video, thanks for posting. They keep showing a picture of Casey in what appears to be the blue hoodie she bought at Target with Amy's money. Does anyone know when that picture was taken?

As I recall, it was taken at the police station, early on. She waited a couple hours in the waiting room (or whatever they call it), chatting with people and smiling, before she went in (for questioning, or booking or whatever they were doing, I don't recall). There was quite a bit of discussion about it, because most found it hard to believe that if your child was missing, and you were brought in for questioning, that you'd be smiling like in that pic at the police station.

There was also debate at the time as to whether that was the Target shirt or another one that was very similiar. I don't know what the final opinion was, but it's on a thread on WS somewhere from the fall..

So, by July 21 CA was no longer grieving the loss of her granddaughter, but in full defense mode - don't ask me any questions, I'll hang up, I'll leave, I won't go there.
KC isn't involved in this, SODDI.
She is a trip.
