IMO, using words like toasted, cooked, baked, broiled etc...when referring to a baby is outrageous.

I don't like the imagery either and depending upon the context it can sound insensitive...
Given that, it's the truth -- take it or leave it, imo.

The AJC article was not written by Ross's brother nor was it solely about his point of view. He is quoted in the article but saying it's "the brothers article" is not an accurate description in my opinion.

I read the article when it was first posted, and you are correct, it is NOT the brother's article. I should have phrased that better. I will edit my post to reflect that. TY! :smile:

I don't know any of the police officers/detectives involved, but I have lived in the South (Marietta, GA) and I saw how touchy people get about things that don't meet their religious expectations. I am afraid that the whole sexting issue may be clouding this tragedy... I'm sure they have other evidence that hasn't been released yet, but I can't help but think that this testimony is slanted towards morals. I have a problem with the choices made by RH in the morality department--but sex, , sexting, etc., etc., has grabbed a hold of many married men so I don't think it has any bearing on this case at all--he's just another number when it comes to that. We don't need cops who are out of touch with reality and think they can pin murder charges on people who have different values than they do. So, until additional evidence is released....JMHO

RH's sexting does have bearing on this case (as does his searches about hot car deaths and a child free life). It shows that the marriage was in trouble, RH wanted a child-free life and he premeditated Cooper's murder. Let's not muddy the water with talk about morality.

I know he was strapped in based on Stoddard's testimony I don't really care if anyone else feels certain of that or not. Not my job to convince anyone of anything.

People believe what they want on that issue. I believe Stoddard and I believe that Cooper would not have still been in that seat when he died if he was not tightly bound (strapped) there. The child had abrasions to the back of his head and scratches on his face where he had struggled, clawing to try to get out.

Nothing will ever convince me that he was not completely strapped in and uncomfortable as all hell on a normal car ride in that seat set the way it was. On the day of his death I cannot even imagine the terror, the pain and discomfort.

Well there's not a lot of "benign" going on when in the last few hours your son is dead due to your "negligence", you've just been arrested, and your wife is coming in to see you.
Personally, I wouldn't use the word "demonic" but I would use the word "incriminating".

And we don't know what LH was referencing when she asked RH "did you say too much"? Was the question about.....car seats? life insurance? RH's young girlfriends? financial woes? the weather?

I am so sorry the cops treated you that way. That was totally unfair.

Maybe they thought you were one of those people that is attached to the phone, like someone following a casket or someone talking while passers by give CPR to your child

I'm thinking that since CH was a toddler (22 mos old), he certainly could've climbed/crawled/walked over to the car's window and cried to get attention while in the hot, rolled-up car if he wasn't bound by the belted carseat. Passerbys would've been more likely to have spotted him if he had some level of mobility. If only CH had some wiggle room---but he had none. Even a Houdini couldn't have survived it.

Poor CH was literally chained and bound in the backseat by that carseat. The carseat acted as a restraint and a weapon/instrument in this child's death.

Call daycare to tell them CH wasn't going to be attending anymore?? My goodness...I was thinking more along the lines of reaching LH, or someone close to her to have her contact him as soon as she arrived, etc., etc.

What you expect from people is not always what you're going to get!!! Men have a tendency to handle their anxiety/depression by getting angry--cursing at a cop doesn't give me a sense of hidden meanings or ulterior motives, and was not out of the realm of reasonable expectations in this situation, IMO.

BTW...the witnesses said he had asked one of the first people who came over to his car when he stopped to call 911. I would have felt an URGENT NEED to contact the mother of my dead child in that situation...and would have had a HUGE problem with anyone who got in the way of that. Because he didn't fall into the expected heap-on-the-ground doesn't tell me that he wasn't totally freaking out--he saw his son, he knew his son was dead, and he freaked out. So much so that he had to be restrained by cops.

But, at the end of this day, we're all forming theories--theories based on small bits of information molded to fit our perceptions of what really happened.

Because Ross knew from his police dispatcher days that 911 calls are analyzed by statement/content analysis experts for deception. Of course he asked the first person he saw to make the call. What a "wonderful" daddy!!!

I'm not putting a lot of stock in the fact that RH cursed the cops when they told him to get off the phone. Once, my car was hit from behind, and I was in the middle of a phone conversation with my son at the time the cops arrived at the scene. They literally screamed at me to get off the phone--vein popping, spitting, screaming at me to hang up the phone. All I was doing was letting my son know I was going to be late coming home from work because of the accident. If I were in a situation where my son was dead, I would probably have screamed obscenities at them, too...I still tell the story of how disrespectfully the cops talked to me that day, and that was at least 15 years ago.

You mean his previous career in "Law Enforcement"?
