SO Loucakis,Timothy R. arrested 2009.02.19

Well, I don't want to stand up for sex offenders, but many studies show that some sex offenders are treatable (but, of course, not all). For example, meta-analysis of sex offenders on cognitive-behavioral treatments showed 19% recidivism rate for treated offenders and 37% for untreated offenders. Even with that difference, this shows that the majority do not re-offend (the follow up period was from 12-16 years from first offense). This was done by Hall and can be found in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (1995). There are also hormonal treatments that seem very effective for some (with recidivism rates as low as 1% in some studies). Still, we as a society may not be comfortable with any kind of recidivism rate for these offenders.

Luckily for this case, LE believes this guy had nothing to do with missing Haleigh. Let's hope she's found alive and unharmed soon!

[I should add that SO does not mean child molester in the study mentioned. It's any kind of SO-- from rape and sexual battery to child molestation to statutory rape. That's a pretty broad swath.]
Off Topic: And out of all of those...how many would you allow to watch your children?

If you look back on the very first thread of the GD threads...we had this guy as one of our first suspects. Way to go Websleuths! I really think they will connect this slime to Haleigh and I just pray they tear his house apart looking for her.

I think all this activity on behalf of LE is a strategic tool to make a point and presence to not only those breaking the law via parole, but to send out a message to the abductor and anyone with knowledge of the crime. A great tool to use along with taking Misty back into the setting of the police department, (for her being the only last known adult with Haleigh) thus she will continue throughout this case to be the pivotal person they resort back to questioning. We will see this tool often with Misty til they have all the facts verified and confirmed. New leads, new tools and actions on LE side as they try to piece together a puzzle. They are on the move, good for them. I see them as doing a quick stellar job.

does the path that the dogs took when following her scent lead past this guys home? I am not convinced, scared of the dark or not, that H did go out the propped open door in search of Misti. We certainly know this is not the neighborhood for a small child to be wandering around in alone.

We need answers to these questions, good to see ya.

Isn't there a rocky island in a cold and windy region of the country that these twisted people could be sent to and not released from? It's going to have to be a big island because there are more and more of them being discovered around the world lately. It better be a cold and rocky island though. No trees.

hehehehe

Why should we feed and clothe them? I say whack 'em, and stack 'em, there is no redemption in these people.

Are they having a round up of sex offenders violating probation this afternoon in Putnam or what?

It says they arrested him in Palatka but last known address was San Mateo? hmmm, he wasnt where he was supposed to be either. Now the other SO has a cell mate with something in common they are both 🤬🤬🤬's.

Good job LE. I'm wondering about this guy, he was on our target list from the very beginning. I see it almost as if a rub in the face of LE. Brazen knowing their out in full force like a dragnet and what's he doing? Breaking the LE right in front of their eyes. Takes someone with a lot of goobers, no fear in him. Tells me alot about his character and the risks he is willing to take in his own life. So in other words, I see him as a type of predator that wouldn't have a problem taking Haleigh in this manner. Time will tell.

I don't know if he is involved or not but, when I saw his picture the first time, my blood ran cold.

I saw something today that was heartbreaking. I went to pick up my geriatric client from the psych ward (along with her son). I saw a 12-13 year old child just crying buckets because he didn't want to be there. His family was so distraught. It broke my heart.

Made me cry. Poor fella. :beats:

And who did they ask if they did it again? The SO. Like they would be honest in their answers. How many of them in the study were still in jail and couldn’t re-offend? Not to hard when there are no children in jail with them. That goes along with getting out for good behavior. How many never got caught again. Child Molesters should not even in the same category as statutory rape. You can skew those study numbers any way you want. 1 repeat offender is too high in my book.
The only SO whom I may go along with that may be helped with treatment are the very young ones, early teens. Abuse begets abuse and they may be doing what has been done to them because that is what they have been taught and believe it is 'normal'.
Maybe some day someone will discover what is wired wrong in their brains but until then...treat them like rabid dogs.

I wouldn't allow them to watch my gold fish.

I know what they do to families, I know what they do to children. I know first hand. Once convicted they need to be put someplace far, far away, never to be seen or heard from again.

This is living in hell for that child as he is not in control of what brought him there.

I'm sorry. :blowkiss: I can't imagine too many things more heartbreaking for a parent, except for losing a child.
