After nearly five days in the air the solar powered Solar Impulse is close to landing in Honolulu after the longest leg - from Nagoya Japan to Honolulu Hawaii - of its round the world flight.

The solar powered Solar Impulse is currently in an extended (9 hour!) holding pattern off the coast of Hawaii which will allow this fragile aircraft to land when winds are calmest.
