This case is so baffling that my head is spinning. On 8/10/1977, David berkowitz aka The Son of Sam was arrested for 6 murders and 7 attempted. His case is widely known. In a nutshell, he was a lone, crazed gunman shooting couples in lovers lanes due to a hatred for women. ( He called them wemon, a play on demon). He confessed to all the crimes and lives in a NY prison for the last 47 years. He's now a pastor or spiritual counselor ( and he does seem very different)
In 1987, a book came out that claimed he was in a Satanic cult that reigned terror down on NY cities. There's evidence of cultic activity very near his home, and two neighbors ( sons of Sam Carr) were supposedly in this cult as well. The author did some interviews with Berkowitz in 1993 and 1997 where Berkowitz claims the cult was real. And that he DID NOT pull the trigger at all the shootings. Recently, after online sleuths got involved, he confessed to being the lone shooter, yet claims the cult was still a reality. I don't completely buy this. Has anybody watched this Netflix doc and do you have any ideas about cult vs no cult.
There's heaps of interviews and stuff about this case on youtube. A real rabbit hole.
